Skaii tapped her pen on the table she was seated at.
She clenched her teeth, obviously irritated by the girl in front of her. She rolled her eyes and groaned loudly to express her annoyance.
"Hey! Can you start? Like today please." She called to the girl that was still searching for something in her bag.
"I'm coming, just-" the girl grunted as she continued to dig through her bag.
"Look, I understand that this just suddenly came up and obviously you aren't really prepared, tell me what it is you're looking for-." Skaii smiled up at her.
"Elizabeth." She offered her name and smiled back at Skaii.
"Wow, I was scared to death when I heard that you're the one who was going to judge me. Especially since they told me that you're even more of a bitch now than you were then." The girl slapped her hands to her mouth when she realized what she blurted out.
Skaii smirked and placed the pen down.
"Who are they?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that. I wasn't thinking." The girl apologized.
"That's fine Liz, everyone knows I'm a bitch. Who are 'they' that you referred to?" Skaii asked once more.
Elizabeth hesitated to speak. After a while, she sighed and said, "It's Melinda and Kelly."
Skaii smiled. Of course it was That's just the way they were.
"Thank you, you may go." Skaii gesture towards the door of the gym.
"Go? But I haven't tried out yet." Elizabeth gaped at Skaii.
"Liz, trust me, you want to go. If I were you, I'd run." Skaii spoke calmly at her. "Please leave, for your own good honey."
Elizabeth quickly took up her bag and ran out of the gym in tears.
"Next person!" Skaii shouted at the door.
**************************** "Ready okay!" Skaii sat, watching the girl in front of her in a cheer stance. "Ready okay. U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi, you're ugly, you're-"
"Oh my God!" Skaii rubbed her temples in frustration, not caring if she interrupted the girl. "If I hear that cheer on more time, I'll puke. If you think you can get into my squad with that cheer and that outfit, you need to see a neurologist. THANK YOU!"
Skaii groaned. That was the third person with that same annoying cheer, and she just snapped.
The girl's smile turned into a sad frown. She grabbed her things and left the gym.
"What the hell do you people think cheer is?" Skaii shouted to herself.
"Obviously not what you're doing now." She instantly recognized that deep subtle voice which echoed around her.
As soon as Nicholas came into view, her shoulders slumped.
"It looks like spending a few weeks in the hospital made you more evil." Nicholas said as he walked over to the table.
Skaii rose her eyebrows at him.
"Before you call someone else in, think about the fourteen girls that want to strangle you first."
"What do you want Nicholas?" She gritted out.
"Ever since I dropped you off, I was trying to think of something that you could do to repay me."
"And what's that? I'm a busy girl you know." Skaii smiled.
"What better way to step on your toes than to join you?" He suggested.
"And what do you get out of this?"
"To irritate Skaii Holder is an opportunity that only comes once." He said while he joined her at the table.
"You and I both know that it's just for the girls."
He nodded, "And for the girls, but mostly for you."
Skaii felt her cheeks heat up. Was she blushing?
"Next!" She turned her attention to the person that approached the table.
"Emma?" Skaii said incredulously, her eyes widened.
Emma nodded to her and kneeled down to set up her stereo.
Skaii couldn't lie. She was so curious to see Emma dance. This definitely would keep her on her toes.
"Ready?" Emma nodded and walked back to door. Suddenly the song started playing. Slowly, Emma moved to the rhythm.
So far her moves were smooth. But as Emma began the second part of her routine, Skaii realized that this was the routine she performed at the opening at the basketball season.
She definitely had Skaii's attention now. Skaii sat up in the chair and watched attentively, completely forgetting that Nicholas was there beside her.
Emma was surprising Skaii with every step she took. Her moves were clean, the technique was clear, she was doing what none of the other girls could do.
Skaii smiled to herself, she felt no need to watch the rest of the routine, she knew what was coming next.
"Wow," was the only thing that came to Skaii's mind when the routine came to an end.
"You get the spot, without any second guessing. Where did you learn that?" Nicholas said. Skaii turned to him with a nasty gaze.
"Um, that was Skaii's routine. I just downloaded it and practiced, I wasn't actually thinking about being a cheerleader at the time."
"Well, babe, you did it way sexier than Skaii ever did. You get my vote." Nicholas winked at Emma.
Emma didn't realise that she was openly blushing at Nicholas, until Skaii cleared her throat.
"Emma, you came to a tryout, not to stare at Nicholas like he's a lollipop." Skaii rose her hand. Emma quickly looked away from Nicholas.
"So did I get it or not?" Emma urged.
"Of course you did, there's no one else to give it to." Skaii smiled to Emma and winked.
