Chapter 2 - A Misunderstanding

MC's POV:

This might not be a dream. The sense of touch. The aromas of the dishes. The pain I experienced when I had first gained lucidity of this "dream." It's all simply too real. Everyone who's familiar with works of fiction knows that a common trope is transmigrating into another world. Whilst this seems implausible, it's currently the only other explanation I have for my current situation besides the possibility that everything here is fake.

But if this is a dream, then that means that I harassed this girl. And that also means that my unruly behavior earlier was…

Blood rushed to my head as the delayed embarrassment shook me to my core. Eventually, I noticed that the girl I had assaulted earlier had formed direct eye contact with me.

Every philosopher would agree that no human is perfect. The same is true for me. Her strong gaze frightened me as I frantically panicked and looked away. I had never performed well in social situations.

Soon after, I heard a mocking laugh. I guess some people don't understand the struggles of social anxiety. I decided to glare at the princess to ease my anger.

Princess Grossentitten's POV:

I looked deeply into his eyes, and I saw myself reflected in them. He was presumably hiding his bashfulness, but the blood was clearly rising to his head. His eyes darted around the room, likely a sign of his embarrassment. At this moment, I giggled, an action completely uncharacteristic of my behavior. Soon after, I put my hand over my mouth: everyone always told me that a princess should avoid this kind of unruly behavior.

Suddenly, I looked up and saw my now-husband looking up towards me with an angry stare. It was as if he was telling me that I could be myself around him. Out of nowhere, my heart started pounding. Although his looks were below average and his manners nonexistent, his presence somehow began to comfort me. Was this love?
