Startled by what he had seen, his foot still suspended in the air. Zu placed his foot back to the ground's uneven dirt path, turning to face the bushes he had seen the glittering snake-like tail slither into. Moving closer to the bushes, zu would gently push some of the bushes aside, trying to see what it was he had seen slither into the bushes.
A creature, with plates lining its back, and a rose gold glint to it. Would be laying on the ground unconscious, Zu, being hesitant to touch it. He would move closer and touch the skin of the creature, the feeling of the scales would be smooth and soft like silk. The creature shivered in the cool summer air, and from Zu's gentle touch.
Not wanting to leave the creature by itself, Zu would wrap his arms around the creature's chest, would lift it with all his might and drag it back to his tent. Getting back to their campsite, Zu would see that Otashu had not yet come back. Still worried about his friend, he would pull the creature into the tent and go look for him.
Early in the morning of friday, Otashu would wake up, his new eyes still adjusting to his new vision. Pulling his hand quickly to his head, a sharp headache had struck him, remembering everything from last night. Not remembering how he had gotten back to the campsite, after the pain had subsided, his stomach had a sickening feeling that Zu was missing.
Getting up quickly only to fall back down, not used to his new legs, he would crawl out of the tent. Zu, who was heading back, was startled at the creature crawling out of the tent, and stepped back slightly. Otashu, who was the creature, had seen zu and started to cry, a cry of relief, that he knew his friend was ok and safe.
