Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Accidently Finding A Temple

It's been a few minutes since I ran into the misty forest to escape the wind jaguar. Its been several minutes since I started running and I only now have stopped running folding into the ground in exhaustion as I try to catch my breath.

The adrenaline has already left me and only exhaustion and tears are left as I can hear the noise of beasts and bugs from everywhere like one is just going to jump out and eat me.

I know I am going to soon get eaten, after my past year dying is no longer what i am most afraid of. It is dying alone, forgotten by the whole world. Even my family forgot me, my body wont even be found by anyone.

Closing my eyes and listening the sound of the misty forest, though its pretty much clear all around me, I guess its only misty at the boundaries of the forest.

I finally start looking at the forest around me, massive trees that look taller than than my families castle whose trunks are so wide i think even ten of me holding hands can't even wrap all around it.

I am in a small clearing with surprisingly looking pretty empty and clean. The sun is setting and its already pretty dark because of the massive thick trees that are everywhere.

I try to use what little mental strength I can to make a little candle light, as I struggle to move the fire laws, my mental strength slowly spreading out when the ground under me starts glowing as runes light up on the ground.

Then as I see the air, no space all around me start to bend, warp until I vanish.

----

I wake up feeling very ill. Looking around I slowly climb to my feet wincing a little from a wound I never remember as fresh pain shoots through from my movement.

Investigating my surroundings proved difficult as everything was very dark with only some illumination from glowing spheres dotted at regular intervals around me, or more specifically the large teleportation circle I am sitting in the center of.

Noticing a tunnels to my right with more glowing spheres, looking at those spheres I realize that they are alchemical creations from runesmiths. There are three major professions in the world.

Runesmiths who use runes to create powerful artifacts that can range from legendary weapons to support artifacts like space bags or barrier rings.

The second, Alchemists, who create potions that can heal you or make you stronger for a limited or even permanently.

The last of the three is the Artificers, they are the creators and inventors that create astounding contraptions, I even heard some have created there own creatures.

Turning away from the lighting artifacts I decide its time I start exploring.

Moving my feet and heading toward the tunnel I seem to only have been out a short time. My body doesn't ache all that much and passing out helped me recover some stamina. Though I have mixed feelings about how I got that rest.

The tunnel is obviously man-made, its less of a tunnel and more of a beautifully crafted hallway as the walls were along the entire length was pictures that blended together in a tapestry telling of a bright shining giant floating in the sky with small people bowing down in worship. How they built massive buildings and was blessed by the giant.

As I continue moving down the hallway I wonder if this place belongs to one of the different churches. There are seven different churches around the continent, this should belong to one of them, but why does it look abandoned then?

How could they build this under one of the most dangerous forests in the world and why is it abandoned?

Light up ahead showed the tunnel coming to and end, I also noticed that the walls carvings now show armies marching on the people killing and burning everything, but as I reached the end of the hallway it showed a large magic circle with a person sitting up in it.

----

The shrine glows even brighter then the tunnel and gives off this ancient, majestic, holy feeling. Walking up the steps the stone feels smooth and warm on my bare-feet, I lost my shoes at some point, I don't know when during all that mess I got caught up in.

Soon I arrived in front of the massive doors of this temple, I don't see how I can open them with my strength, but when I got closer to them they started opening by themselves with this creaking noise. This is obviously the first time in a very long time they opened up.

When they finished opening I observe large pillars on either side going down in rows complementing the vast hall before me. I see the end of the hall in the distance and walk towards it.

Making my way to the end I find every pillar is filled with depictions that I somehow understand perhaps magic. They tell a story of grand gods fighting for supremacy, of representatives those gifted fighting in the mortal world that decided many things like pawns on a chess board.

They tell of their disappearance, how these dark beings invaded the land of the gods and they pushed them back and killed them all off, but there legions never ending flood made them decide to set up a barrier that hid them and us. Though they had to fall into a deep sleep to channel all there energy into the barrier.

This isn't permanent though, when the dark beings finally find us again and break the barrier the gods will awake and fight the war again. This story is the same one that we are all taught in this world, the

story of the gods fight and sacrifice to keep this world safe. The depictions end there and I also hit the end of the hall to find this multi-colored orb flashing beautiful colors.

It is also releasing this magic that's flashing continuously, changing between colors continuously walking into the range of the released magic massages and warms my whole body.

The exhaustion and pain in my body starts fading, my hunger and thirst lessons as well. And I even feel my wound is healing incredibly quickly bathing in the gentle power of the orb.

Walking up to the orb I wonder if touching it will have even more wondrous effects. Reaching my hands out the moment my hands grasp it everything I see changes. I become surrounded by darkness with with a tall blue glowing figure that is somewhat transparent.

He looks at me and I who is still trying to figure out what happened just numbly stare back. This personage is a very handsome man, though I don't know the color of his hair or skin, his chin is sharp, his eyes have this magnetic attraction and feels like he sees my darkest secrets.

After a few minutes he opens his mouth and speaks "so you are my representative hmm" he speaks as he looks me over.

"Representatives?" I question him. "The ones that fought in the name of whichever god chose them?"

He nods and replies "Yes, I want you to be the representative of me" his words shocking me to my core.

"Your a God!" I shout. "But arent you gods asleep?" I question, wondering who this being is. He doesn't look like any of the gods who's paintings and statues are everywhere in this continent.

"I am asleep, this is a part of my consciousness that I left to give you my gifts and give you knowledge about the near future." The unknown god tells me.

"I have never seen you or heard of you before, and I know all the gods that the continent worships." I say to him, this might anger him, but I know what all the gods look like. Its one of the prerequisites to be a noble.

"I am one of the most powerful gods of the pantheon one of the three god kings, the strongest of them all, yet when I chose my representatives the other two god kings had there representatives quickly hunt them down, and they stood together against me equaling my strength." he starts to divulge about the hidden schemes of the past.

"If I went ahead and fought then its the gods land and even more so your world that would be ravaged from the fallout. In the end I could not name new representatives for they would quickly perish." I can see the sorrow in his voice and expression.

"Why do gods need representatives?" No one knew why they made representatives, it was a mystery.

"Because we cannot come down to this lower realm with damaging it, the gods land has its own territory and resources, warring over them would destroy the land from our immense power. Like the money and material to build your cities, and contraptions for war, we have the same."He continuous.

"The divine weapons and armor used for battle or the material that cities and shrines are built with. and the resources that can grow our strength further and how many lesser gods join under our banner, everything is decided by the representatives battles." His words blowing my mind that we have such power to decide the direction of heaven.

"They even worked to erase my name from your history so all will forget me." My eyes open wide from this bomb! They can do that!

"Thus at the end of the war with the void ravagers, I peeked into the future and saw you, the perfect candidate. The one that's forgotten will be the forgotten gods representative. So I hid my gifts and part of my consciousness here where you will stumble into it." He pronounces grandly.

"Though I am quite happy that you chose me I must know, I have to know, why did they forget about me!" I scream out as tears come down my face once again like they have to past year.

He looks at me, and opens his mouth.
