Chapter 182 - Embroidery

Zhi'er hugged Master Qian's neck, buried his head on his father's shoulder, and gave a muffled hum.

Mrs. Qian stepped forward and held her son back, tugging at Master Qian for instructions again.

Kui Wu also came back from the town at this time, walked up to his brothers and patted them on the shoulders and said: "Second, you guys must be safe out there, be careful in everything, no matter what, your own life is the most important thing."

"Big brother, we know, you also need to take care of your health, we will come back to see you when we have the chance, it will take a whole day's worth of work to drive a carriage around and get there."

Kui Wu said: "When you guys get on your feet and settle down, I'll visit you guys when I get the chance."

After they all finished their instructions, Mrs. Wang put a lot of food in their carriage so that they would not be hungry on the way.

When it was all in order, Master Qian brought the brothers together on the carriage, and the driver sat on the carriage's yoke, waved the whip, and began to move forward.

The window of the carriage was opened, and the second brother waved and shouted: Big brother, take care of yourself!"

Kui Wu waved his hand at him, standing at the door with the Xu family and watching the carriage go away.

At this time, Zhi'er began to cry.

Mrs. Qian quickly comforted him softly for a while, and then he gradually stopped crying.

Mrs. Wang said: "Mrs. Qian, go inside and sit down for a rest, your arms will get sore if you hold your son for too long."

"Okay, thank you, madam." Mrs. Qian said.

Mrs. Wang said: "You are the same age as my eldest daughter-in-law, so if you don't mind, call me aunt."

Mrs. Qian replied: "That's a good feeling, my real name is Yue Ru, Auntie just call me by my name."

"Okay, Yue Ru, what does Zhi'er usually love to eat? I'll have the kitchen make it at noon." Mrs. Wang asked.

"Auntie, don't bother, Zhi'er usually isn't picky, he can eat anything."

Back in the house, Mrs. Qian put Zhi'er down and let him play by himself.

Yaya saw a little boy about the same age as her coming, so she stepped forward curiously, biting her little finger and looking at Zhi'er.

Seeing that Zhi'er ignored her, she ran back to the room, took a small grasshopper made of straw, and presented it to Zhi'er as if it was a treasure.

Zhi'er had never played with this thing before, so he curiously took the grasshopper into his hands, and the two little carrot heads started playing together.

Mrs. Wang put new mattresses in the house where Su Chenyu lived before, and called two people to help carry the box that Mrs. Qian brought into the house.

"Auntie, I'm really sorry to trouble you. This box contains some clothes belonging to me and my two children, as well as the patterns I usually embroider. There are a lot of things, so it's a bit heavy." Mrs. Qian said.

"What's the trouble, just stay at ease, I didn't realize that you could also embroider, Yue Ru? You are really skillful with your hands." Mrs. Wang said.

"Yes, I have been an embroiderer in an embroidery workshop before, so I naturally know how to do it." Mrs. Qian said.

Mrs. Zhang said with a smile: "Farmer women like us can make clothes, but not embroider."

Mrs. Qian said: "If Sister Zhang wants to learn, how about I teach you?"

Mrs. Zhang's eyes lit up at first, and then she asked: "Isn't this... going to be too much trouble for Sister Yue Ru?"

Mrs. Qian smiled and replied: "It's no trouble, I'm relatively free anyway, and it just so happens that I have Sister Zhang who can keep me company and talk to me, so naturally, I'm kinda eager to do that!"

Mrs. Li also smiled and spoke up at this moment: "Sister Yue Ru, why don't you teach me and my third sister-in-law as well, we want to learn as well."

Mrs. Qian said: "Sure, of course."

"As long as you don't mind me being stupid, sister Yue Ru!" Mrs. Zhang said.

"Where! There's nothing you can't learn if you put your mind to it."

After Mrs. Qian packed everything, she felt relieved when she saw her youngest son playing with Yaya in the courtyard.

So she picked up a half-embroidered handkerchief and began to teach the three sisters-in-law to embroider it, and also gave a few embroidered handkerchiefs to each of the female members of the Xu family.

Qibao also got a separate one. The veil was flesh-pink, and embroidered on it was a lark standing on a wicker. It looked so lifelike and really beautiful.

Qibao secretly admired them. If this were the modern era of industrial mechanization, these handmade embroideries would probably be sold for a lot of money.

Mrs. Wang's family members were also very happy, looking at the spit pattern on the top of the pad, the more they looked at it, the more they liked it. They were also thinking of learning from Mrs. Qian, so that in the future they could embroider a couple of dresses with the pattern for their children.

At noon, Mrs. Wang also asked Mrs. Jin and Mrs. Yin to cook more dishes that the children would like to eat.

Sure enough, at the lunch table, Zhi'er's favorite thing to eat was sweet and sour pork ribs. He almost ate half of the plate by himself, but Mrs. Qian stopped him from eating any more.

Mrs. Wang smiled and said: "Zhi'er, tomorrow we'll still eat sweet and sour pork, okay?"

Zhi'er grinned and said: "Okay, Zhi'er likes to eat it the most."

The child's emotions come and go quickly. This child was crying and reluctant to leave just after Mr. Qian left, but he forgot about it for a while.

Not long after dinner, the three sisters-in-law sat at the door and started learning embroidery with Mrs. Qian.

Although Qibao liked the embroidered patterns, she was not interested in embroidery, so she was about to go back to her room, but was stopped by Mrs. Lin.

"Qibao, come over and see how your Aunt Ru embroiders too, a girl can't be bad at needlework."

"Ah? Okay then..." Qibao had no choice but to turn around and take a small stool to sit next to.

There are embroidery threads of various colors in the needlework basket, and several people are choosing the colors they need.

Qibao held her chin and watched Mrs. Qian's fingers fly up and down. Her hand speed was very fast. After a while, the prototype of a plum blossom was outlined with silk thread.

They praised her again, and Mrs. Qian also patiently explained some introductory skills of embroidery to them.

Qibao thought that since she was staying, she should listen carefully and there would be no harm in learning more.

So she also took the cloth and started to embroider according to Mrs. Qian's instructions.

In fact, learning to embroider is somewhat related to painting, it's like using a needle instead of a pen to draw the outline of what you're going to embroider, and then filling it in with silk thread, except that it's a lot of color matching.

There are places where you can see that the colors are about the same, but in fact it took several types of silk threads to embroider them, in order to be able to see some of the layers, so that it will be more flexible and less rigid.

Qibao thought about it in her mind and decided to embroider the simplest leaf first.

When she thought of the rough outline of the leaf, she began to embroider it, slowly but with a very serious expression.

After all, it was her first time touching a needle, and she was a bit clumsy at first, but slowly smoothed out.

After embroidering a rough prototype, she showed the veil to Mrs. Qian for a look.

Mrs. Qian was a little surprised when she held the handkerchief and said: "Qibao, your embroidery is good. Although the position of the needle is a bit uneven, you can see that it is the shape of a leaf."

Qibao nodded and said: "Aunt Ru, this is indeed a leaf."

Mrs. Wang quickly took the Qibao embroidery fabric, immediately smiled broadly and said: "My Qibao is so smart. Look at the pattern she embroidered for the first time. The leaves are really beautiful. She deserves to be my granddaughter!"

Several women sitting next to her also took over and looked at it, also very happy, Mrs. Zhang said: "Qibao, you're great, you can embroider so well, you're much smarter than I am as an eldest aunt."

Even though Qibao was modest, she was somewhat embarrassed by Mrs. Wang's compliments.
