SCREEEE!!! SCREEEE!!! SCREEEE!!!
That was all the sound that Grey could hear before being enclosed in a triangular prism.
That was the sound of the wind in the small ball in Jason's hand, it seemed as if the winds were screaming to get released, Grey felt disturbed as he listened to sound.
Before the triangular prism could enclose him, Grey took the split second to observe his team.
Grey could only see Abe and William.
Grey saw Abe Kohler having all his limbs cut at the same time even though Abe had put what the he thought was his best defensive spell, it was cut like warm butter.
Even though the big fellow had just lost of his limbs in a split second, what had just cut him did not cut any vital area that could take his life.
'What! Is he lucky or was his life saved on purpose?'
The big fellow did not have time to even scream as William who had been next to him as they had teamed up to fight a pair of Ruhenese mages experienced a full bad luck encounter unlike his counterpart, Abe Kohler.
William was cut into thousands of 1 cubic centimetre pieces that painted the battlefield crimson with his blood.
What was left was a pulp of flesh and bones, the young fellow did not even have a defensive spell at the ready, thus the winds did not experience any resistance when cutting him up.
In that split second, Grey only saw these two fellows, the reason being that when Grey warned the team, every other person did not hesitate to disengage and to flee.
These people knew that anything that would alarm Grey was something that could not be faced, all that was necessary was to run.
'I warned them, let's hope some of the team members survives.'
That was the last thought as tier 1 Destroyer type spell, [Pyramid Of Stigma] fully enclosed him a small space.
The height of the pyramid was only 1.2 metres.
Thus Grey had to crouch and make himself small, he designed the spell this way so that mana could be concentrated in full defence.
As [Million Gust Release] was launched, a million wind blades of superfast speed were released in a 360 degree with Jason as the centre, only a 1.78 metre dome which housed Jason and Kary was not inflicted with damage.
That was the only form of control the Legendary spell gave to its wielder, the wielder could designate a dome of the height of the wielder as a safe zone.
The 1.67 metre Kary was safely inside of this dome looking in awe and terror as the wind blades cut everything in an ever expanding dome.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Those were the sounds of the pyramid being hit by the machine gun like bombardment of the wind blades hitting the spell, the still crouched Grey looked in awe at the absolute violence of winds.
Grey had a look of resoluteness as he saw the pyramid, the spell was holding on, but that did not mean it was not being disintegrated at high speed.
'I have to get one of these cheats.'
Grey had cold eyes on his face, his enemies were not going to be only Jason and Kary, some of them would have the means to use Legendary spells,
In order to make sure of his continual survival and betterment of his magic, he was now resolute to get one of these cheats.
'Though I first will need to escape this situation.'
Grey was already sweating buckets and breathing heavily, as the pyramid disintegrated he had to put more mana to support the spell, this being a Destroyer tier spell, its toll on the body was high.
If the [Million Gust Release] was left to ravage the pyramid, the whole thing would have been destroyed, or why would they call Legendary spells disgusting cheats.
The whole ordeal ended in a second as if it had not happened, Grey stood with difficult to find a wasteland all around him, he could Jason and Kary a small distance away from him.
"How?!"
Jason asked with a hollow voice as he could not believe what had just happened, the fellow looked around himself and even pulled a small white strand of hair from his head.
Kary did not care about the disbelief of her cousin, she put up a boxing stance, she was ready to fight bare handed even though it was possible to see she could collapse at any point,
The amount of vitality she had supplied to fuel the Legendary spell was high, especially since she had to keep her spell continually supplied with vitality if she was to survive the monster called Grey.
'Damn you Grey,! How did you survive?! But it seems the spell you used also took its toll on you.'
Kary actually wanted to shout at Grey like how her cousin had done so, but she did not have any strength to focus on talking.
"AGHHHH!"
Grey turned to look to the writhing Kohler on the large battlefield, that scream pulled his thoughts back from the wasteland around him.
"Haa!… Cousin we tried our best, Grey is just worth his bounty… I mean the intelligence division called him a class A threat as a tier 1 mage… If I could have done the classification, I would have made it a class S+… He can survive Legendary spells at his tier… Honestly I would not be surprised if he can breach a Legendary defensive spell if he tried… What type of spell did he even use, a spell with such power should not exist on tier 1 if it is not a Legendary spell… Cousin let me take the lead on this…"
Jason commented calmly, the shock that was marring his face was no longer there like it never existed, he seemed like a different person.
PANT. PANT. PANT.
Grey could hear Jason talk, he narrowed his eyes as he listened.
'She either survived or found a way to transfer my information before she was killed.'
BOOM!
That was the sound of whirlwinds as Grey forced a movement spell even with his tired body.
"AGHH! AGHHH! GREY BE CAREFUL! IT HURTS YOU FUCK!"
Kohler shouted in momentary hate and pain as Grey lifted him by the collar.
'You are sure quite lucky aren't you Kohler?'
Grey took a momentary glance at the meat pulp that was William Schulz.
The reason Kohler was lucky was that there was a person in his line of fire, that person saved his life.
The person in question was part of Jason and Kary's team, as stated, the spell did not discriminate against any person, any persons caught by the spell was minced without regard.
If the person who fired off the spell was a like Prince Alexander Wilhelm Arin who had the ability to turn team damage off, then team killing could be avoided, however Jason was not Alexander.
That person in question had taken the full brunt of the wind attacks.
What was left behind was only able to cut Abe's limbs under the big fellow's maneuvering, allowing his limbs to get cut off and not his neck or something like that.
Boom.
That was the sound of Kary's knees hitting the ground in tiredness.
Pant. Pant. Pant.
"Jason, we did our part. Honestly, I did not think we would have to resort to Legendary spells."
Jason did not answer his cousin, he just lifted her on his shoulder and took a look in the direction where Abe and Grey were moving towards.
Kary did not sound sarcastic anymore, she sounded more differential to Jason.
"It was a pity about our team though."
"I understand Kary, but a genius like Grey is just too much of threat, during our fight I was observing his spell power, they are all powerful. The information had said that he was a spell genius?"
Jason also sounded different, he sounded like a scholar type of person, looking at everything objectively.
"Jason, was the information incorrect?"
"No, the information was just incomplete. Our department had been observing weird behaviour from Arin's Main Academy, chatter suggesting there was a big breakthrough in Magic Ring design."
"And you believe he is the reason?"
"I just don't believe it out of intuition, my investigation suggests the same. Even as his spells are powerful, his Light magic is more special in comparison. His Light magic defence, offence and other magics are all about 9% more powerful."
"WHAT!!"
"Yes, Grey Gram has found a way to make all of his tier 1 Light magic more powerful using a Magic Ring design that does not exist in tier 1."
"JASON, THIS IS THE WORST SITUATION!"
Kary had an anxious face as she looked for solace from Jason, hoping he would have a plan to solve this.
"I know, a Magic Ring genius is more of a threat than a spell genius. I really hope they kill him."
