Chereads / The Magic Rings / Chapter 82 - Chapter 82

Chapter 82 - Chapter 82

Unbeknownst to Grey the world of the Magic Ring Masters was about to face a storm that they did not know was coming their way.

As Grey continued with the intricacies of the new tier 2 Magic Ring design the masters at the Main Academy met in a conference room to discuss what they had been summoned for.

The chairperson of the meeting was the woman who had been the first to see Grey's research package.

The woman had short auburn coloured hair with hazel coloured eyes. The woman had an outward look of a woman in her thirties.

"Thank you for making it as quickly as possible when I had called you all in such short notice."

The woman looked towards the men and women in the conference room.

Every single one of these individuals was a successful Magic Ring Master that had designed hundreds of Magic Rings in their careers.

"I know you are wondering why I would have called you in such a hurry."

"It is fine Juliet, we all understand your disposition and character, you would not call us if it was not a situation of the utmost importance."

The woman called Juliet turned to look towards an old man with completely white hair and an amicable face.

The man was not part of the military in a service role, but worked for the Main Academy as a reviewer and verifier of new magic ring discoveries made by mages of the Mage Army.

The old man was over 200 years and was a tier 5 mage who had a large amount of experience in the design of Magic Rings, this made him good at his job.

"Thank you for your support Alexis."

'I wonder if Master Wagner has submitted a new Magic Ring design.'

The old man's excited thoughts could be considered normal because it was only when designs from people like Ingrid would they be immediately be summoned with haste like this.

"You are correct though, I have called you here because of a very important discovery that I need your help in reviewing and verifying."

Juliet said with a solemn voice, that made every person even more curious about this discovery.

But Juliet would have them wait some more.

"But Before that, I need you to acknowledge and sign this."

Juliet turned towards her assistant who was standing by the door of the conference room.

The assistant started to pass out None Disclosure Agreements of the strongest binding power towards the men and women in the room.

The NDA was very powerful, such that a person like old man Alexis who was a noble would have his nobility stripped from him if he broke the NDA.

The people who were not nobles could even be charged with treason and be executed if they broke the NDA.

"Miss Laurier, not to sound disrespectful, but since when was our trust not enough such that you would have us sign these things?"

A woman complained as she held the NDA in her hand, she had an annoyed look on her face as she looked at Juliet.

The woman was a tier 4 mage, the same as Juliet, with similar age as Juliet, just over 100 years.

Juliet turned towards the complainer, she had somewhat expected there would be someone who would want to reject the NDA, and it happened to be rival who complained.

"I understand your grievances Miss Sybil Madden, but not today. I dare not make a mistake with this research package. If you will not be able to sign the NDA, I would have you leave this conference room immediately."

Though Juliet answered Sybil in a professional manner, it was still possible to see that her eyes had different thoughts as she hoped that Sybil would leave the room.

But that would not happen as someone interrupted.

"I believe Miss Laurier makes sense, she would not bring this forward if this did not require the utmost secrecy."

The person who commented was the youngest person in the room at only 73 years and being a tier 3 male mage.

The male made his stance clearer by signing the NDA in front of everyone.

That made everyone to follow suit and sign the NDA, this included Sybil Madden.

"You can collect them and leave when you are done."

Juliet turned towards the assistant, she did not waste any time as she started to take the documents and then leave the conference room when she was done.

When the door closed behind the assistant, the room got very tense, as every person in the room got very serious.

The confrontation between Juliet and Sybil was forgotten like it never happened.

"A few days ago I got a request from Captain Hans Ignocia asking me to pull a certain research package that had been waiting its turn for almost two years to the front of the que for review and verification."

Juliet took a pause to gain her thoughts.

"Normally we don't do this, but this was not a normal situation. The Captain is a person who is favoured by his majesty, thus I did not reject his request. I even took the time to see what this research entailed such that it would get the attention of such a man."

The people in the room all nodded their heads in understanding.

Juliet's job required her to be impartial and be fair to everyone who is submitting their research to the Main Academy for review and verification.

However sometimes it was necessary to bend the rules, what is important is to know when to bend the rules.

The situation where someone favoured by the king of the kingdom asks for a favour is one of those times where it is necessary to bend the rules.

"I had believed that someone of his stature would have a proper reason to ask something like this from The Main Academy, thus even I was curious to know. Thus we find ourselves in this meeting."

'So it was not new research by Master Wagner. I hope it is at least interesting research, I would hate to be wasting my time.'

Old man Alexis was disappointed, but kept a professional demeanor.

"I will not ramble any longer, I will leave it up to your judgement to decide whether this research was worth this set up."

Juliet pulled out different packages from what can be assumed was a storage artifact and passed them out to the people in the room.

'This better be good Juliet.'

Sybil gave Juliet a glance as she got her package as well and started to focus on the content of the package.

It did not take long for the people to get focused on what was on the document, the room became very quiet, only the slight sounds of the people gasping.

They were gasping in shock due to the information they were reading about.

It took an hour for the first person to talk.

"Juliet, who is this Grey Gram?"

The man had a calm voice, which pulled other people from their reading concentration.

However that did not mean he was calm as his eyes betrayed how he actually felt.

It was possible to see excitement in his eyes which was the same for the other people in the room.

"I knew you would ask, thus I got all the records the military has on him."

Juliet pulled another stack of documents from the storage artifact and passed them out.

Gasp!

That was the sound of people made as they read Grey's file.

"Only 15 years of age?!"

One male shouted in shock.

"And you said this research package was submitted a long time ago?"

Another male asked Juliet with same shock.

Juliet nodded.

"If you continue reading his file. You will find out that the young man's teacher a, Hilda Higgens, had said on his file that he was the most talented person when it came to the design of Magic Rings such that she felt envy when she saw him. These files are usually classified, but I had used my authority to have declassified."

The people all turned to the document and checked, and they found exactly what Juliet had said.

Juliet crossed her hands and put her arms on the table, which made her more solemn.

"People, I believe we have a genius on our hands."

There was solemnity in her voice as she said that.

"What do we do?"

An older woman asked with trepidation.

"That is the reason I asked for your presence."
