Adonis's heart grew colder with every passing second. His body grew more and more heavier because of his heart's fear.
He wiggled his body with all his might.
He remembered everything that had happened to him and his heart grew more and more heavy.
The tremor of fear made him want to wish for death the very moment.
Those memories started stabbing him everywhere.
His breathing grew heavier and heavier by each second and his chest grew tighter and tighter.
He wanted to give up.
His consciousness started fading due to the panic.
His wiggling body slowed down.
He closed his blindfolded eyes.
Was he going to die?
A handsome man and a lovely child were looking at him with beautiful smiles on their faces. The child was saying something to him, so was the man. But he couldn't hear them well.
The man walked towards him, handsomely. When he came close enough he said,"Babe, what happened? Let's go in. You can't change your mind now. I won't let you go."
Adonis could feel his hair being tucked very lovingly.
"Let's go. Your family is waiting for us."
Adonis jolted awake.
No, he can't.
He can't give up.
He has to fight. He will do everything possible to go back. Magnus must be coming to him. His love is coming to him. He can hold on. He will hold on till he comes.
He braced his heart. He was determined.
Before he was alone.
He didn't have anything to live with or for. So he didn't complain much.
Now he had people to live with. Days to look forward to.
He wants to live happily.
He can't.
He won't give up.
He racked his brains to remember the tricks taught by Magnus on self defense.
He turned to his side. Feeling the strength of the rope, he started to rotate his wrists back and forth.
The rope started loosening a bit.
Adonis heard some noise coming from the door.
He stopped his moments and stayed a bit.
"You did a good job."
It was a known woman's voice.
"Here, you can stay near Adonis all day and night. I can make you his personal bodyguard too."
"But what's the difference?"
It was the Knight's voice.
"What's the difference you say? You can stand at his side, eat with him, be with him every second of the day and avenge your sister who he buried alive and kept captive even in his death."
The man didn't speak.
"Didn't you say you loved him?"
Isolde asked him in a honeyd voice.
"Yes."
"Then after knowing the situation of your sister, don't you think it's good for your love to be with the First Prince who loves him very much rather than the cruel Duke?"
The man seemed to have agreed, Isolde spoke again.
"Okay then. Go in and guard him well. The first Prince is gonna be very upset if something bad happens to him."
Adonis heard the door being opened so he lied on his back, like before.
The Knight came and stood next to Adonis beside the bed.
Adonis's heart beat. Totally unaware of what the person was thinking about.
He walked and poured something on the glass.
He stood at the foot of the bed and leaned down slowly.
Thump thump.
He slowly extended his hands towards Adonis's shoulder. Grabbing it he moved Adonis.
"Young Master Adonis, wake up. Have some water."
Adonis felt a bit relieved.
After being shaken for a while, he pretended to wake up.
The Knight helped him sit well and extended the water to him.
Adonis turned his head to the side and said,"What do you want to do? What the heck do you want?"
"Young Master, please have some water. You must be uncomfortable."
Adonis looked at him, dead in the eye and said,"If you had thought about my comfort, then you'd never do this.Get me out of here to the Duke's Mansion."
"Young Master, you don't understand. He's not a good person."
"You don't know him. Don't speak of him lightly."
"I know him better than you, before you. I know it well. He isn't good for you. You better be with the first Prince who values you so much."
Adonis flared,"It's the First Prince who you don't know well. He is the actual bad person for the whole country."
"He'll take good care of you."
"Why are you trying to do this great favour on me?"
"Because you're a good person. I heard from my sister you're a good person. You helped her make a very big decision in her life. She was a citizen of your village. So I should take care of you."
"Your sister would be saddest if she knew you separated me from my love and child."
"She won't because I'm taking good care of you and she can't, anyways. She's already dead."
Adonis stopped the next thing he was gonna say. He felt like he said something wrong, poked somewhere where it hurt. Then he remembered his conversation with Isolde and hesitantly asked,"What happened to her?"
The Knight laughed like a madman. Then slowly stopped laughing.
"My sister, my Anne. My beautiful little sister, whose smile was the most beautiful child in the world, died."
He glared at Adonis but immense sadness was visible behind that glare.
He said,"Your Duke killed her. You Duke promised her future and left her. She was still happy. She was still satisfied. She was such a good child but she died. My little girl died giving birth to that beast's child but he didn't even come to her funeral. I wanted to kill you so that he knows what it feels like to lose love. But then I remembered my sister mentioning you in her letter so you're spared."
"But the Duke-"
The door to the room was opened and some people came in. Some of them were maids while others were Knights.
The Knights grabbed Adonis from both sides and took him out of the room.
Adonis wiggled and shouted,"Where are you taking me? Let me go, just let me go."
All the wiggling was in vain. Their grip on Adonis was a lot tight.
They took Adonis inside a big bedroom. It looked like an important bedroom. He didn't like it.
Then the maids started undressing him. Even if Adonis was moving the whole time, they dressed him up in another set of clothes.
They seemed to have experienced that a lot. Only letting him go after he was dressed up.
"What the heck are you people doing?"
They all stood with their heads down.
Adonis was dressed in a see-through white shirt and white pants.
"Behaving like impudent and acting respectful. What the heck are you guys dressing me up for?"
"For our wedding, Darling. What else?"
Adonis froze. He grew nervous. He didn't even have to turn around to see who it was. He knew. He could smell.
Now that he was still, he noticed that the room was full of the First Prince's filthy smell.
