Chereads / The Legend of Trickster / Chapter 5 - Mistake

Chapter 5 - Mistake

My body leaned back against the car as I hummed peacefully. I couldn't help but chuckle at that man's expression a second ago. Not gonna lie, it was damn hilarious. The idiots who were under my control bathed in their own blood. I wanted to do something much more painful to those guys. Something that will make them think hundreds of times about their choices before getting in my way.

'Man, I should just go and get a life. How long am I going to continue living like this?" I thought. The next second....I back flipped by shifting the weight of my body onto the car through my arms and landed on the other side of the car.

My eyes widened seeing my buddy slowly being cut into two pieces right in front of my eyes. A blue laser like sword ran through my car that I had worked so hard to create for god knows how long. I was enraged by that. There is so much someone can take on and my patience has ran out.

"Now you won't be able to run away anymore," The guy who brutally murdered my one and only friend said that without a change in expression. He took a stance by moving his right leg back, bending a little lower and his sword's hilt parallel to his left eye. In a blink of an eye, his sword pierced my solar plexus, my eye balls rolled upwards and my mouth hung open. He turned his back foot to 180 degrees and slashed my chest again.

I would have died "if" I was there in the first place. My body burst into red and black particles similar to dust. The same happened to my car. The red and black particles gathered again right behind the sword guy. The whole scene seemed to have come out of a horror movie when the particles revolved and rotated around each other. Two skeletons- one horizontal and the other standing straight- formed through the black particles gradually. From the feet to the top of the head. After that the remaining red particles congregated above the skeletons. The process of molecules gathering together on top of the skeletons creating muscles and blood cells would make anyone cringe at the sight but since it was happening quite past, it seemed perpetual and attractive.

Slowly both of them changed back to their original colors. The horizontal one went back to its posh black color and the red mass of blood color shifted to pale white.

This all happened in less than a second giving no time for the sword guy to react. His expression darkened when he turned his head back slowly only to see my car and me standing unscathed without even a scratch on us.

He didn't waste his time in crying though and instead took the same stance as before. His blade reached my head in less than a second. But I tilted my head exactly at the right time making him miss his strike. He continued going back to that stance and coming for one of my vital parts nonstop without a decrease in his speed but that was the same for me. I moved my body exactly 26 millimetres away from his blade. My heart, head, eyes, legs and even my crotch wasn't spared. I knew at that very second that he is after me with an intent to kill.

Well, before I thought of him as someone who was after my money. Who would have known that he was sent after me by that old man. But the next strike wasn't after my head, not even my body in general but instead right beside my ear. So I didn't try to dodge that attack as that would be a waste of energy.

Though that was my biggest mistake.

"Now," He swiftly took a step back after pronouncing that single word. I didn't even have a second to think clearly as my hearing was already gone. It was as if I had grown numb. I turned my head backwards only to find a boy probably 15 with blond hair standing under the shadow.

"Tch coward," My voice was low pitched. The sword guy continued attacking me with the same accuracy as before and I had no choice but to dodge at any cost. My speed had decreased greatly after that cowardly attack.

Little by little, he was able to make small scratches on my arms and torso.

While I was busy handling these two,

*BANG

A loud bang resonated exactly where the people I had controlled were. I instinctively turned my head in that direction only to find that they were out of my control. A green gas floated in the air around them. I instantly realized what it was.

'How the hell did something like that get in the hands of these people?"

That gas was something invented by a team of scientists that made all the effects of the ability useless the moment it was released. It should only be activated with a switch then that means....

I looked up at the sky, to be exact at the helicopter and noticed the old man grin. There was no way officers would ever be given something like that as the anti mana gas was too rare because one of the materials used to make it was on the verge of extinction.

'Who could have given it to.....no way, no, damn it. Not her again," Drops of sweat rolled down my head as the blade guy continued with his attacks. The moment I saw an opening I turned a step to the side and immediately kicked on his side. To block it, he brought his arm right in front of the kick but alas,

*Crack

Though it didn't break, his hand must have gone numb.

'You want me to take your life? Happily," I thought while knocking the guy down. The smile on my face grew wider and wider as I kicked him on the face. Blood spurted out of his mouth but my body didn't stop. I spun around and performed a roundhouse kick that landed right on his neck. Before he could even take a breather I punched him on his chest. I saw him roll his eyes up though my right leg had already knocked his leg.

I purposefully did all of this in less than a minute so that the.....girl could use her skill.

The ones who were still in my control and couldn't come out of it because it was too late for them had stopped moving. Why didn't I move to stop her? Well, I couldn't care less about those mindless zombies as the only reason I trapped them in my control was to make the old man show all his cards. It wasn't easy to deduce that because there was no way that I would be caught by these bunch of normal humans. They received training hard enough to be able to fight an average Ravaleon but that was if I was an AVERAGE Ravaleon.

It just doesn't make sense for them to send something that actually had a chance to take me down...probably. It's not as if I could have run away anyways because the charge in my car was already finished. So I wasn't losing even if it was shown that my guess was wrong.

I still couldn't hear properly after being attacked by that attack though from what I saw he isn't strong enough to pull that thing again so soon or he would have already done that.

Suddenly, my eyes grew hazy. I couldn't move anymore for some reason nor was my body reacting to my calls.

'What the hell?" That was all I could say before I blacked out.
