- I can't, i can't, i can't i can't…i can't i can't …
A man was sitting on the concrete floor, his face shrouded by shadows.
The light bulb dangling above his head was just enough to draw a light circle around him.
His hands were fiercely gripping his legs while he was rocking himself.
-I-i can't can't, can't…
He didn't cease to repeat himself again and again. His eyes tightly closed.
Darkness seemed to gnaw the cercle of light while the light bulb gave sign of weakness.
A scraping sound was heard. Then another.
The man let a moan like sound out of his lips, and stopped talking, keeping his eyes shut. His face has grey dirt all over, like a worker in a mine.
His hand went to his pocket with frenesy and brandished a flash light.
The light bulb crackle one time.
The piece sink into obscurity with it.
There was a growling sound.
Now even with his eyes wide open the man can't see.
He can only hear the noise of something hitting the floor. Fast, it's running toward him.
His moist finger press the button of the flash light with force in its direction.
There is a gruesome scream and light showed him the exit sign on top of a door.
He ran toward it, adrenaline pumping hard in his veins.
But behind him there is no light. Darkness lick his nape like an hungry demon.
Something in it growl again.
The man hear the thumping for the second time.
Dam.
Dam.
Dam
DAM
DAM
DAM
Its faster than he is. and so near.
In panic, he turn around.
The flash light slashing through the murk.
He see nothing, only the grey floor and the extinguished light bulb. Only his breathing can be heard.
His heart is hitting his ribcage and he can feel it all the way up to his vibrating temples.
His sweat is dripping on his eyes like tears of fright.
He stays there for a few minute, his back against the wood of the door.
While he stay rooted on his place, his free hand seek blindly the clinch behind him.
Finally, he touches the cold metal.
Relieved, he pusched the clinch down.
But the door remains closed.
His movements become more erratics.
-No, no, NO!
His voice seems broken , and his wispers grow loud in the gloomy silence.
But the door didn't move an inch.
His eyes become dull while looking at the darkness all around him.
-Where is the key?
