As if someone made the battle cry for the war to begin, the trio began their task. It's time to catch some fish.
The fishes were swimming in every direction. No fish wanted to end up on a plate or as someone's meal. Emerald caught the fish with ease. She had been spending a lot of time here so she knew how to catch the fish.
Alex on the other hand was having a really had time. He was a royal so he could use any elemental ability with ease, but that would be cheating so Alex crossed that idea out. After a lot of failed attempts, Alex finally caught a fish and it was huge!
Alex ran in both pride and excitement towards Emerald. He finally did it, he finally caught a fish.
[Caught fish: Should we tell him that I sacrificed myself for his sake? I mean he sucks at fishing. Techking: Don't look he is too happy to be disappointed.]
Emerald was starting at the edge of the lake. She was so focused on fishing that she didn't notice that Alex was running towards her at full speed.
Alex ran so fast that when he finally reached Emerald, he couldn't stop thereby pushing not only Emerald but the fish that was almost out of breath with him.
The fished heaved a deep sigh of relief and took off, but not before slapping its captor's face with its tail.
Alex created an air bubble to prevent the water from entering. He looked at Emerald but immediately regretted it.
Because of the water, Emerald's dress clung onto her body, revealing her beautiful and curvy body.
Emerald walked closer to Alex. She wanted to tell him to take them up.
Alex snapped out of his daze when he felt Emerald's warm breath brush his ear.
Emerald was confused as to why Alexander's ears suddenly became red. Little did she know that her mere breath and presence were the causative agents in Alex's blushing face.
Emerald was coming to speak again, but Alex suddenly yanked her into his embrace. Alex did that simply because he did not want to put himself in an uncomfortable situation. I mean Alex was alone with a girl that has her beautiful body exposed to him. He was holding to his last strong of self-control. Alex was sure that another glance of Emerald would make his last string of rationality snap like a dry twig.
" O...K, can we go back up. It's a little cold down here" Reasoned Emerald.
Without a response, Alex lifted them and they were soon on the land again.
Emerald was surprised to find out that her dress was already dry. Alex had dried her dress because he wouldn't want anyone looking at her, not even his best friend, John.
John leaned on the tree lazily. He could have gone and saved them when they fell in the water but he didn't. He thought Alex wouldn't need his help and besides, Alex could control water as he was a royal of Hansonia, and John didn't think the idea of jumping into a cold lake to save someone who could undoubtedly save himself was fun.
When they got everything ready, they headed back to the cottage.
Emerald sat on a stool as she grilled the fishes they had caught. She was thankful that she had five plates or else how would she have served her guests.
Emerald distributed the plates. She was about to sit down, but before she could
'CRASH!'
The sound of a plate shattering echoed throughout the cottage.
"I'm so sorry I did not mean to break the plate." Alex quickly apologized. Even though he deliberately broke the plate, it would have been rude to have not apologized.
Emerald smiled at him, luckily there were two extra plates left. She quickly handed one to Alex, but before she could turn around, the plate in Alex's hand lost the quality to be called a plate as it laid down on the floor with a million pieces.
Alex scratched his nape shily. He was about to apologize but Emerald told him it was alright. She handed him the last spare plate.
Emerald sat down and heaved a sigh of relief. She was about to take her plate but she mistakenly hit it making it fall and break into pieces.
" We can share a plate." Alex was 1quick to suggest. That was all he wanted from the beginning. Alex couldn't help the smile that carved his face. He was happy that lady luck had graced him with her luck.
Alex ate with Emerald while John ate alone. John was actually not complaining. He liked it that way. He just couldn't picture himself acting like this because of a girl.
John went out when he was done with his food. He walked in the bushes when he suddenly stopped. He could feel someone's presence. John looked alert for a moment before his shoulders dropped down as he relaxed.
"Nick came out now" John ordered.
Nick came out scratching his nape. He couldn't believe John had easily spotted him. He was actually getting bored after the girls left the stable, so he decided to bring their horses here. He easily found John because he and John shared a bond.
John starred at his man that had suddenly become stubborn. He did not even know why Nick was here.
"Go to the cottage the. Alex is over there." John said and continued his walk. Nick became excited, he did like his master but John was really boring. He would prefer going to the prince than being with his boring master.
Nick hurried off, afraid that his master would change his mind and decide that he should accompany him. Soon, Nick saw the cottage and hastily walked towards it. His nose picked up a scent that he would always recognize even in his sleep.
The scent of food.
But before Nick could step in, he halted as he noticed two people sitting on a bench.
On closer observation, Nick noticed one of the two people was none other than the disguised Crown Prince of Hansonia.
' Who was that girl beside Prince Alex?' questioned Nick.
