Chapter 2 - Adrian Hunter

"Come in," he said curtly. Hana, the secretary walked in timidly. She handed her boss the file with a slight tremble. Adrian looked at her with one eyebrow raised.

"What is wrong?" he asked, voice deep and husky.

"You've been working for me for 8 months now. Am I that frightening to you, Hana?" Adrian asked as he leaned back on the leather chair.

"N-no sir..its j-just that..its.." Hana's words trailed off as Adrian began to speak again, "Leave."

Hana looked at him, shocked but quickly grabbed the document that her boss had signed and hurriedly left. She was almost in tears. She shut the door softly and went back to her desk, starting to type on the computer.

Adrian Hunter is a successful young man. He made his way up from nothing at all. He struggles alot from such a young age. His parents died when he was 6 in an airplane crash. His aunt took care of him from then on. He is someone who is determined to get what he wants. He always did well in school and in whatever jobs that he did. Adrian was always doing odd jobs just to save up because he has big dreams. He wanted to have his own office and company. And what he wanted the most was to be his own boss.

At the age of 18, he told his aunt that he wanted to live on his own. From then on, the journey wasn't easy for him. But eventually he made it this far and became one of the richest bachelor at the age of 30.

Adrian wasn't an easy man. Due to the struggles and hardship that he went through, he didn't last long in any of his relationships. Some was due to his personality that women can't stand while others was after his wealth. But deep down, he has a soft spot in him. Just waiting for the right person to uncover those qualities in him.

As his secretary left the room, Adrian shook his head and got up from the chair. He looked out the huge, long window behind him at the busy traffic below. He knew that he could be intimidating but he likes to be that way. He didn't like people to step on him or take advantage of him. He had to put up a tough side of him.

Hana was his 10th secretary this year. It was easy to find anyone to be his secretary but it was hard working under him. His past secretaries were afraid of him and they didn't stay for long. He hoped that Hana would be able to work with him longer because he had enough of going through resumes and interviews.

Adrian went back to his desk to prepare for a meeting at 10. He signed more documents and then got up to leave.

"If you want to sleep, leave a resignation letter on my desk," Adrian growled at Hana. She quickly gathered herself and continued typing.

"I apologise, Mr Hunter," Hana said in a trembling voice.

Adrian glared at her and said, "Call me Sir. Not Mr Hunter. I won't be back here after the meeting. You may leave once you're done here."

Hana nodded, not daring to look at him in the eye. Adrian buttoned his coat and walked off, his black leather shoes echoed through the corridor.
