Chapter 2 - Heavenly Sword Martial Arts

We were all eagerly waiting at the academy the next day until it was time to go back to the Cloud Academy. When we arrived at the academy there were two other men with the elder.

"Hello, once again students. To the left of me is Elder Ju and to the right is Elder Yan."

The two elders nodded.

"Your gonna follow them to pick your technique"

The other two elders started walking away and we followed them. Their teacher stayed behind and talked to the elder.

"Which martial arts do you think he's gonna chose Elder Su." the teacher said addressing the elder with white hair.

"Well if he chooses Wind he can become my disciple but if he doesn't then I will still teach him to the best of my abilities." the elder replied to the teacher and smiled. He waved goodbye to the teacher and disappeared into the air.

The teacher was left there by himself and spoke.

"Knowing that kid he's gonna pick sword martial arts." the teacher smiled and followed the path of his students.

The kids arrived at a white temple and walked inside. Inside the temple were four floors. The first floor was filled with books while the second, third, and fourth floors had scrolls and some books. The two elders turned around and got us to quiet down.

"You can choose one book from the first floor and one scroll from the second floor. The sections are divided into the five martial arts."

I raised my hand to ask a question and Elder Ju nodded.

"What's the difference between a book and a scroll."

Elder Ju responded.

"The books on the first floor are all basics techniques for the type martial arts that you choose and the books on higher floors are better techniques. The scrolls are skills which get better as the floor gets higher."

I thought of another thing that confused me.

"What's the point of having so many basic techniques on the first floor then."

Elder Ju responded once again.

"Most of the techniques are copies since we get many enrollments but some techniques can choose their user and some are better than the other basic techniques. Any other questions?"

I shook my head and headed towards the sword section. The two elders started talking amongst themselves.

"That kid had a lot of questions."

"Indeed he did."

I looked around at the many books available in the sword section. Indeed most were copies but some of the techniques repelled my hand. Most of my classmates had already walked to the second floor but I was still choosing.

While I was browsing around the techniques Elder Yan walked up to me.

"We don't get many sword martial artists. May I ask what attracted you to the sword?"

Ye Tian looked up and gulped.

"My dad was in the fight against the demons but he lost his life. All that was left was the sword he left for me so I decided to follow him and become a sword, martial artist."

Elder Yan smiled and walked to a book. He pointed at it and signaled for me to come over. I walked over to it and stopped.

"This technique repelled everyone who tried to use it. Maybe you might have luck."

I looked at it. Heavenly Sword Martial Arts. I reached out my hand and grabbed the book. Elder Yan was surprised but hid his expression.

"This is a very good technique as it grows with the user."

I looked up.

"Why isn't it on the higher floor."

Elder Yan shrugged.

"You should head to the second floor."

Ye Tian thanked the elder and went to the second floor. My classmates were still up there carefully picking a skill. I looked around for a while until I managed to find one.

"Seven Colored Sword Strike"

I picked up the skill and went downstairs with the rest of my classmates.
