Gora:
Ouch!
I groaned in pain as I awoke to Frons limp body lying on mine. We slept on a makeshift bed made from leaves. Although uncomfortable, it was better than sleeping on the hard forest floor. Frons was a horrible sleeping partner. She would move constantly. Still, I'd rather sleep with Frons any day of the week than sleep alone. I heard footsteps coming from behind us. I didn't need to turn to know who it was.
"Morning, Canis. How'd you sleep?" I said softly to not wake Frons.
"Not so good. I was too nervous for today." The hound said with a shrug. I couldn't blame him for being anxious. Today we would be going to war. I wouldn't expect anyone to sleep soundly knowing that.
"Would you like me to wake everyone?" Canis asked. I notice him staring at the snoring Frons.
"Just gather the commanders. I'll go over the strategy before we march out." I explained. Canis nodded before running off. (I guess it's time to wake sleeping beauty.) I thought, Gently nudging the woman on top of me. Frons eyes fluttered open before she let out a long yawn.
"Good morning, Master," Frons announced. She stared down at me with her big green eyes before planting a kiss on my lips. I didn't stop her. In fact, I was beginning to get used to a beautiful woman kissing me. Frons got up and started to stretch. I watched as the morning sun bounced off the curvy woman. Frons was a masterpiece in my eyes. ( I simply must survive today. I plan on seeing this view for the rest of my life.) I thought while staring a little too hard at my
guardian.
"How'd you sleep?" I asked the woman, who was now stretching her bottom set of arms. It would take a while before Canis got back with the others, so I decided to have a chat with Frons.
" I slept well! How about you? You seemed cold, so I decided to warm you up last night." Frons said with a big grin. I guess that's why she was lying on top of me this morning.
"What are your thoughts on today's battle? I questioned. I wanted to know what she was thinking. Frons brow furrowed in thought.
"We'll win! I believe in us." Frons said as I sat up. Her word put a smile on my face. Still, she was a little overly optimistic. We were outnumbered by a large margin. We might win, but I knew we'd have causality.
"Master, promise me. If anything bad happens, you must run." Frons declared as she bent down to hold my face. I was touched by her concern for my well-being.
"I can't leave you guys!" I said as I started to stand. Frons pushed me back down and frowned at me.
"I know you wouldn't do it. That's why I'm making you promise. If you die, there will be no hope for those down the mountain." Frons pleaded. Her eyes pleaded with me. Still, I was about to turn down her request, but she started to talk again.
"Promise me, Master!" My guardian shouted. I could tell she wasn't going to let me off the hook.
"I promise I won't die!" I said, forcing myself to my feet. I looked down at Frons. The woman was sad but gave up on the issue when she realized I wouldn't budge. I would never abandon any of my men to save my own life. That just wasn't me. Although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared. Mostly because I had no idea how powerful the Elvan leader was. Still, I had faith in my own abilities. I had been in worst situations than this one.
"My Queen, the men are all here. Oh, and I see the monkey decided to wake up!" Canis said, smiling at Frons. I could tell there was about to be a fight between them, too, so I decided to get right to the point.
**********************************************************************
It took around twenty minutes to explain the game plan to my commanders. They all seemed to understand their roles. The newly evolved demon beast had been training hard, and they were itching to start. When I was done with my explanation, all the men were gathered, and we set off to battle.
RAWWWWW!
When we were a few minutes away from our target. We heard a mighty roar that shooked the tress. It came in the direction we were headed. (What the hell was that?) I thought as I commanded the group to halt. I took my lieutenants to scout ahead but let the main group continue their march. We ran hard through the forest before running into one of Shadow's scouts. The tiger asked us to follow. We made it to the clearing where the Elvan had been camped in a few minutes. My group let out a collective gasp as they laid eyes on the scene before us. A massive bear with dark brown fur and spiked-covered tail was fighting the Elvan all by itself. I say fighting, but in truth, it was a one-sided slaughter. The bear was a layer eight mythical creature. The small Elvan men were being tossed aside like rag dolls.
"OH, Good you are here. I didn't know how I would explain this." Shadow said, appearing beside me. He explained the situation ahead of us. I discovered that the bear had only arrived a few minutes before us. The beast had started killing without a word. (Well, this could be good for us.) I thought as I stared at the battlefield. If left alone, the bear would thin the enemy's ranks considerably. Moments later, two elvan commanders
appeared from a tent in the center. One was a layer six, while the other was seven. Both of them headed straight for the bear.
"Master, we have to help her," Frons announced behind me. I guessed the woman was referring to the bear. The bear would surely be overrun soon. Still, I didn't want to get involved. The bear could turn its claws on us.
"My Queen, do you remember the cub we saw the first time these creatures ambushed us? Frons said. I turned to look at the woman, who seemed to be in deep thought as she glanced at the fight. I remember the bear cub that had been ripped apart in the valley.
"I believe that's is the mother. If we do nothing, she will die too." Frons Said I could hear her voice crack a little. I surmised that my guardian was thinking about her own mother. She must be feeling sad for the bear. (I guess it can't be helped.) I thought as I gazed at her.
"Frons, Canis, and I will intercept their leaders. The rest of you go back and proceed with our regular plan." I ordered. The newly evolved beast bowed before setting off. I also commanded Shadow and his men to go with them.
"Master, we'll handle the two elvan leaders you need to lead the army. Canis announced. Frons nodded at his words.
"He is right. These two are ours. You save your strength for their leader. We still don't know how strong they are. Frons stated. I was about to refuse, but both looked at me sternly. Leaving me no room to argue. (Dam. These two prideful idiots.) I thought with a long sigh.
"Okay but promise me you won't be reckless. When the rest of the group gets here I'll send reinforcements." I stated. I couldn't believe I would let them have their way, but arguing would be no use. Both guardians agreed before heading off into the clear. The battle had begun. (You two better not die.) I thought before heading off to get the rest of my men.
