Gora:
BOOM!
I watched as Canis unleashed his ultimate move. His sword exploded into a giant fireball that shook the ground. Both Canis and the strange creatures blew away from each other. I was about to catch my guardian when Frons rushed ahead of me. She grabbed the weak hound in her arms, and they both landed safely on the ground.
Frons, congratulations, Canis, before he passed out. I rushed over to the two checking on them. Canis was out cold but still alive. I breathe a sigh of relief before facing the stunned group of grey men. Anger welled up inside of me. I unconsciously began leaking my killer intent, and a black aura rose up around me.
"Kilvae theoms, Kilvae theoms!" The man Canis had been fighting shouted in pain. The grey man's right arm had been blown off, and he was still leaking grey blood all over the snow. I was surprised the guy could still speak. (He must be talking to his men.) I thought as I stared them down. Then they started to run.
"Frons get the gorillas to carry Canis and keep him alive." I have some questions. I said as I pointed to the grey men's leader.
"Where are you going, master?" Frons asked. I ignored her as I unleashed my full blood lust once again. These bastards dared to attack my group. They even killed a few of my men. (I need someone to take my rage out on.) I thought as I raced after them, sword at the ready. I felt like I would explode if I didn't release my anger. I saw nothing but red as I began to butcher the fleeing creature. My sword cut through bones like butter, and I unleashed black blades to rip through their ranks.
Boom boom boom.
The creatures screamed in horror as I continued my slaughter. I slashed and cut through everything in my way. I continued for what felt like hours, yet I couldn't stop. I felt myself becoming consumed by rage and anger.
"That's enough, master!" A voice announced behind me while a hand grabbed my arm. I turned to see Frons. She had a look of worry in her eyes. Seeing her caused the rage inside of me to subside a little.
"You've done enough, Master. Your troops are getting scared." She explains. I look around, seeing the snow wad covered in gore. Grey body parts littered the ground, and greyish black blood covered the snow. The beast all stared at me in fear. Some held their heads down when my eyes met theirs. (Damn it! What is wrong with me.) I thought as I looked at my blood-soaked hands. That's when I thought about Canis.
"Canis? Where is he?" I asked Frons as I looked around frantically.
"He's alive, but he needs your help. I can't get the bleeding to stop." Frons described. I stored my sword and followed the woman back to my wounded guardian. He was lying motionless in the snow, surrounded by his wolves. The beast parted as I made my way to him. I knelt down, placing my hand on his head. It was easy for me to share mana with him as my guardian.
My Ki entered Canises body, and I directed them to his wounds. After a few minutes, I had managed to stop the bleed, but I was running dangerously low on mana. (This is all I can do for now.) I thought as I examined the sleeping hound.
"Weu wiyl come back..." The leader of the grey creatures struggles to speak. I couldn't understand anything he was saying. I figured he was cursing us, but I paid him no mind. "He says they will be back and with more warriors. Frons announced to my surprise. I asked how she understood him, but then I remembered that evolved beast could talk telepathically. They didn't need to know the language.
"Master, what is Elvan? He refers to these creatures as Elvan." Frons said. My eyes widened as I released what she was saying. (Dark Elvan!) I thought in surprise. I had never seen one before, but I had heard tales of them from Mog.
It didn't make sense the Elvan race we're known to be on the borders north of the three kingdoms. From my understanding, the beast forest rested in the far south of all three domains. (Could they have snuck past the border?) I thought as I looked at the dying Elvan. There have been breaches in the border before, but the dark Elvan never got this far.
"Master, do you want me to take care of him? His rambling is getting annoying." Frons said with a scowl on her face. I was about to give her the go-ahead but stopped myself. (No, that would make me like the priest.) I thought to myself. My goal wasn't to force my followers to kill. I only brought them for self-defense. If I went around giving them orders to kill, I would be no better than the church.
I slowly stood, struggling to stand. Healing Canis has drained my energy quite a bit. Still, I was able to finish the raving Elvan leader. I summoned my sword and stabbed him in his heart. My black blade slid through the creature's armor with relative ease, and I watched as the light slowly left Elvan's eyes. ( You attacked the wrong person!) I thought as I pulled out my sword. I then turned to the group of beasts, who all looked to me for guidance.
"Frons, have your team gather the wounded. Shadow?" I called to the panther that appeared behind me.
"Take some tigers and scout ahead. No fight. This is just a recon mission. See if you can find more enemies." I order. The panther bowed before carrying out my orders. Once we had gathered the wounded, We set off into the forest ahead. We had to move. I didn't know if or when the enemy might show up again.
**********************************************************************
We traveled for around an hour before setting up camp. The sun was starting to go down, and my men were exhausted from the ambush earlier. I went around the camp, taking a headcount of the remaining members. We had lost at least six beasts while 15 had been wounded. Thankfully not many of them were life-threatening.
When I was done taking my assessment of my followers, I lay up against a nearby tree. (What am I going to do?) I wondered hopelessly. I wasn't expecting this kind of pushback. I figured we would be up against a few powerful beasts but nothing of this scale. The Elvan were just too numerous. My group was strong, but against an army, we wouldn't stand a chance.
"Master, what's on your mind?" Frons questioned. The woman stood over me with worry written on her face. I stared into the woman's green eyes. I don't know what I would do if I lost her. I almost lost Canis today. ( have I been selfish bringing all of them with me?) I wondered as I gazed at Frons. At first, I thought bringing them would be an excellent way to give them experience and help them get stronger. Now I worried they'd all die.
"Should I just give up and go back down the mountain. There's no telling how many more we will lose." I said as I dropped my head. I was used to losing men in war, but I had no choice back then. I was a mindless slave then.
"Master, why are you so set on climbing the mountain?" Frons asked. I didn't understand the question. I had told her many times why I was going. (Had she forgotten?) I thought in confusion. I thought for a moment as I searched for the right answer. I felt like my original reply was too simple. I didn't just want to see where my mother had grown up.
"I guess I'm looking for my family. I have brothers, but they never really cared for me. My father was hardly around, and I lost my mother when I was born. I guess I'm looking for a place I belong." I said, not bothering to raise my head. I knew I sounded selfish, but it was true.
The other noble demons all hated me. My father loved me, but he was barely around, and when he was, my brothers would get jealous of the affection he showed me. This would drive them even further away from me and the other noble demons. Mog loved me, I knew that, but I felt like I was a burden to her. Mog used to be the most respected person in Esha, but that changed when she started to look after me. The demon kingdom just didn't feel like my home. I hoped I'd find a place to belong on the top of the mountain. I was hoping to find a family to care for me.
"That doesn't seem selfish. In fact, that's what you have given all of us. Most of the beasts that joined you were outcasts. Discarded by their own packs." Frons said, pausing for a bit.
"You've given all of us a place we belong. That's all any of us wanted. I'm sure every last beast Here would lay down their life for you, I included. That's how precious the gift you have given us." Frons said, holding her hand out to me. I took her hand as she helped me up. I stood facing the woman as a tear fell from my eyes. ( Do I really deserve her loyalty.) I thought.
I was speechless as Frons put her face closer to mine before I knew the woman kissed me. Her soft lips touched mine. I felt my brain melt for a moment as I lost myself in juicy lips. Then as quickly as it happened, the kiss was over. I gazed at Frons, who looked pleased with herself.
"I read that humans and other creatures kiss each other to show their love. How was it?" Frons asked. I felt my cheeks get hot, and my words caught my throat. This was my first kiss ever. I didn't know what to say or how to act. All I knew was that I liked it and wanted more. But I knew Frons didn't really understand the implications of her actions. Her love for me was like what a sister has for another.
"I love you, Gora Hydra! I would do anything to help you accomplish your goals. No matter how selfish they are." Frons said with a big smile. (I don't deserve this woman. I didn't deserve her love.) I thought.
"I love you to Frons." I said while lowering my head in embarrassment. Before either of us could say more, I felt someone approach from behind. I spun around to find Shadow waiting for me. Although the panther had ruined the mood, I was anxious to hear what he had to say. I didn't have time to let myself get distracted. We weren't safe on this stupid mountain.
