Chapter 56 - Return to Beast Nation

Duae:

Whoosh!

I leaped through the trees. The cold wind slapping my face made me wish I was back home. Sure it was still cold at home, but it wasn't near as windy. ( I can't believe I'm back in this place.) I thought to myself as I continued my search.

My damn sister had played both the king and me in her little scheme. Mog had demanded that I come back to help in the war efforts while she rested. Image my surprise when I found out I wasn't really needed at all.

Although the dark elvan had gotten more aggressive and Nemours. The creatures had yet to become a real threat. My sister had called me away for no reason, apparently. I mean, she did go into a deep slumber, but I could tell she didn't need to.

(What are you up to, Mog?) I thought as I began to move faster. Whatever my sister planned had to do with the princess. That was the only reason I could come up with for my sister's actions. I needed to find Gora fast if she was still in the forest.

Minutes later and I had arrived at the last place I'd seen the woman. Cuts littered the ground from where the princess had attacked. Although the battle had happened months ago, I could still make out signs of a fight. There was stone rubble leftover from the Log's attacks and plenty of fallen trees.

"I wonder if the girl survived?" I said as I began to slow down. The last time I was in the beast forest, Gora faced two powerful foes. Both her enemies were layer six, but something told me the girl would be just fine.

When I saw princess Gora the last time, she was only a layer three. But I could tell that her body was at least level five. There is no telling how strong she's gotten in the months I've been away. I wouldn't be surprised if the princess core was a layer five by now. I had learned to stop underestimating Gora a long time ago.

"Where have you gone, half-breed?" I exclaimed as I examined the old battlefield. That's when I sensed another presence lurking in the shadows.

"Who's there?" I called out into the forest. There was no answer, but I knew someone was watching me. Whoever it was wasn't any match for me. I could tell that the newcomer was at most a layer six. (Trying to run, are we?) I thought as I quickly made my way to the now fleeing creature.

It only took me a second to arrive in front of my target. I was shocked by what, or I should say, who I found. Standing before me was a dark green tiger with blue stripes. The tiger had large horns like that of a dear.

"Well, I'll be damn. You're still alive?" I said in surprise. I hadn't expected to run into the cat. The creature stared at me in fear. (If you're alive? Then where is Gora?) I thought as I examined the cowering beast. If I was going to get any answers from the tiger, I'd need to calm it down first.

"I'm not here to kill you. I only seek an answer." I said while holding my hands up. I wanted to appear as non-threatening as possible. It took a minute before the beast dared to speak.

"Who are you?" The tiger asked. The beast's voice was shaky, and I could tell it still had his guard up.

"I'll be asking the question. If your answers are to my liking. I may consider letting you live." I announced. The tiger just nodded her head, and I began the interrogation.

I asked question after question, getting a full recap of the events from the beats. I learned the tiger's name was Warr. The name struck me as odd, but I decided not to ask about it. I need to know about Gora. If the tiger was still alive, then Gora was good enough to be dead. At least that's what I thought. Warr described otherwise.

The beast explained that not only was Gora still alive, but she had proclaimed herself. Queen of the beast. Now she had a large following of beasts under her command. Of which Warr was a part of. Until she was kicked out.

I sat there listening to Warr's story with my jaw on the floor. (The princess is quite ambitious.) I thought. As Warr continued her tale. After talking for about an hour, I finally learned where to find Gora and her new pack. I decided I would check this information for myself.

"I must see if what you speak is the truth," I said after the tiger was finished with its recount of events. Warr wasn't of any use to me anymore, so I let the creature go. But not before leaving the beast a warning.

"If you're lying to me, cat. I'll make sure to come back and pull all of your limbs off with my bare hands. Oh, and you never saw me, got it?" I asked. Warr nodded her head, so furiously I thought it would fall off.

With that settled, I made my way to the so-called Queen of the beast. I giggled to myself as I thought of the name Gora had given herself. The whole idea was absurd. (How many beasts could she possibly have following her?) I thought to myself as I ran faster. If I had to guess, she had a force of ten to twenty beast. It surely wasn't enough to call a proper nation for any King or Queen. I laughed as I leaped through the trees. I had to see the little Queen and her army of a fearsome beast.

My laughter stopped. However, when I reached Gora's camp. What I saw made my head spin. Gorillas marching with wooden spears, wolves training or guarding the camp's perimeter, and A handful of tigers all below layer five. I even spotted a couple black panthers roaming the base. All together, Gora had mustered a force of about 50 or so creatures. With a number of them being level four or higher.

Although the number of the beast was surprising. The assortment of creatures was what caught my full attention. The black panthers were a new addition to the princesses team. Then there was the giant grey serpent. The snake was a layer seven, and I knew for a fact how strong its scales were. (How the hell did Gora get such a beast to follow her?) I thought as I got closer. I had to be careful with the serpent around.

I was stronger than the serpent. Still, I didn't want to take any chances of being spotted. I managed to get closer to the snake. Luckily it was close to a group of trees I could hide in. I was now behind the snake, who was lying down in the clearing a few feet away from me. It was then that I found my target. Princess Gora was lying up against the giant snake, supplying the creature with ki. (That explains a lot, I guess) I thought as I tried to get close enough to hear Gora speak. Luckily for me, the snake was weak, or I most defiantly would be spotted with how close I was getting.

"Who's there?" Gora said as her golden eyes locked on to my position. (There is no way she can see me.) I thought as I stopped dead in my tracks. Upon close inspection, I noticed that Gora was still a layer three, although she was halfway to reaching layer four. She shouldn't be able to find me. Only someone on my layer or higher could see me right now.

"Your highness. I've come to talk about my favor." An enormous panther with a spiral horn spoke, causing Gora to look away from me. I breathed a sigh of relief as I relaxed. For a moment, I thought the girl had found me.

"Shade, yes, let us discuss this favor of yours. I'm sure we can find a way to help one another." Gora said. I listened quietly as Shade, and the beast Queen spoke.

"Although the beast you have recruited for me are... let us say below average, I'm still grateful for the help. But why would you want your son to stay? Gora asked. Apparently, Shade wanted the princess to protect her son.

"It is time for Shadow to leave the nest. But I fear I have spoiled him too much, and I'm scared that he won't do so well on his own." The pather explained. Panthers weren't pack animals and preferred to hunt alone. They would typically separate from their young when they reached layer three.

"So, you want him to here to keep him safe? I cant promise you that!" Gora said harshly. The panther dropped her head in shame as she spoke again.

"I know, but it is time for him to find his own path. At least with you won't die of worry." Shade said as she stared at the ground.

"Master, please allow little Shadow to stay. I believe he will grow strong around you." The serpent announced, catching me off guard at how formal the snake was with Gora. The princesses stared at both the snake and mother panther for a long while before answering.

"Alright, alright, the brat can stay. But I need something from you, Shade." Gora said, smiling at the black panther. I watched in surprise as A layer six pather swore itself to the princess as her guardian. I decided to retreat for now and collect my thoughts. I was receiving too much information all at once.

"Hahahaha hahaha!" I laughed to myself when I was far enough away from Gora's camp. The girl was really doing it. She was creating a beast army. If she's allowed to continue, she will become a threat to the demon nation. Hell, she would be a threat to the entire world. ( I can not let this madness persist any further!) I thought, trying to come up with ideas to stop her.

My sister and the king's advisor instructed me not to interfere. But I couldn't just watch the girl grow into an unstable force. For the sake of Esha, I would have to do something. Even if it meant my own demise. Going back to Esha strengthened my resolve.

(Sorry, sister, but I know what I must do?) I thought, not sure if Mog was listening. Even if she was, I knew she couldn't stop me. My sister was lucky I loved her enough not to kill Gora personally. I also promised Gorro I wouldn't touch his daughter, but I wouldn't just do nothing.

"Let's see what the beast queen is made of, shall we!" I said as I raced into the forest. I was headed back to the last place I saw Warr. I had plans for the tiger. Plans to topple the newly created beast kingdom.
