Chapter 1 - The beginning

She was always late to class but everytime she entered the room it's like a spark lit under me. No one ever really acknowledged her yet she was well known among all the students. Liana was her name. She wasn't a tall girl standing at 5'4 with beautiful ginger hair and the most enchanting sea blue eyes. Never did she gloat about her looks or put anyone down. She was like an angel.

As I watched Liana walk over to her desk and get settled I realized everyone was staring at me.

"Mister Omarley, can you please stop staring into space and read chapter seven for us" I finally heard the professor say.

Sh*t I was daydreaming about her again. "Sorry Teach can I please be excused to the restroom?"

With a exasperated sigh he nodded and I head out of the class. That was embarrassing. Brushing my hand through my hair I made my way down the hall and into the bathroom, it was empty this time around. I'm glad. I walked over to the sink and splashed water on my face a few times before looking up at my reflection.

"Get it together Parkey Poo" I heard a familiar voice before turning around.

It was my childhood friend Jake. We got lucky and ended up in the same English class this year. He's not much shorter than me, 5'10 with hazel colored hair and dark brown eyes. He sure was popular with the girls, I never could understand how we became friends.

"Shut up moron," I said before grabbing a napkin and wiping my face "I didn't get much sleep last night." Which is partly true.

"Yea right, like you weren't drolling over Liana the whole time she walked in." I rolled my eyes and he snickered to himself. "Whatever." I muttered under my breath. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so I left the bathroom before Jake could get another word in. What a nuisance he can be sometimes.

I trekked back down the hall to the classroom and entered quietly.

I glanced over to where Liana was seated, she was reading her book with an interesting look on her face. Made me wonder what it was she was reading, a comic maybe? Does she like romantic books or perhaps she's a nonfiction type of girl. My thought were filled with the what she could be interested in when I finally came to my senses. What am I doing?? It's just a book, the hell am I getting worked up for.

The final school bell rang making me lose my train of thought. Alas the day was over. Everyone quickly got their things together and left the class while I remain in my seat for awhile. I leaned back a little in my chair and combed my fingers through my hair. Finally, I let out a sigh and got up.

"Parker!" I looked toward the door to see Jake standing there with a huge grin on his face.

"What do you want," I let out a bit annoyed.

"Guess who I just saw" he sang out. I stared at him for awhile and he took that as a queue to continue on.

"A pretty little angel named Liana," he chirped.

My breath hitched a bit at the sound of her name. But I tried to play it off.

"Yea? And what's that to me?" I managed to say before moving around Jake and walking out of the class. I could hear him laugh a little before catching up to me.

"You sleeping over tonight babe?" He tried saying seductively while attempting to grab my arm. I pushed his hand away "Not anymore you creep." He again started laughing and this time I joined in.

We walked to his locker so he could grab his helmet, and started heading out to the parking lot. There weren't many students left but quite a few were lingering at the main gate. Jake was a few places behind me as I jogged to my bike and started the ignition. Man do I love my bike.

"So are you gonna just stand there and eye-rape your bike or can we hurry up and leave already?" I gave Jake the finger before hopping on. "Are you jealous I'm giving it more attention than you?" I countered before he gave a comical pout and got on the back. I didn't wait for a reply before I kicked back the stand and rode off. "You know you love me!" he yelled over the motor as I swerved through traffic.

We got to Jakes house 15 minutes later and I parked in the garage while he helped himself off.

"Home sweet home," he said as he searched for his house keys, "Now where are they..." he thought aloud. He stood and pondered for awhile and I started to get impatient.

"Please don't tell me your dumbass forget where you put the house keys again." He stared at me dumbly for half a beat before saying no. I gave him a glare before going around the front and knocking on the door. There was no answer. I sighed "Barbie are you there?" I called out. I smiled at the sound of little footsteps running toward the door.

"Parky! Did bubba forget where he hide his keys again?" she giggled before opening the door for me. I heard Jake coming up behind me "No! Of course I didn't Nessy, now let us innn!"
