Chapter 1 - The Dog and The Diamond

Chapter One

Meet a True Jewel

Bronx sat at her vanity, looking into her mirror, in her pink and gold-trimmed bedroom. The lights were dim; she was warm on the outside but felt cold and afraid inside. She looked at her reflection. She was a standard poodle with pink, blue, and purple-dyed hair. At first, she had black hair but her owner bleached it out. She got groomed at the Her head had a little poof on top, her waist was shaved thin, and her tail had a diamond-shaped poof at the tip. Her nails were painted pearl and had a tiny diamond on top. She looked cared for on the outside, but inside she felt abandoned.

Tripoline Bouvier opened the door and gazed in; Bronx was still in the bedroom. After seeing her prize-winning poodle she looked up to the chandelier. It was dinner time. Tripoline Bouvier rang the gold bell outside of the bedroom doorway. The butler came slowly up the stairs carrying a plate of Cannoncino alla crema (an English pastry). The butler was a tall, old, timid man who always wore a bow tie. Bronx ate the fanciest foods in the entire world, but today she just gazed out the window. She usually greeted the gentle butler, however, today she was thinking about family. She thought about how it would feel to be snuggled in someone's arms. She pictured going to a dog park and playing with other dogs, using an actual fire hydrant, and eating raw meat off the bone.

This was not her life. Bronx's life was a life of a trophy dog. She was forced to prance, keep a straight head and back, stay clean and always win the prize. The butler, named Joe, knocked on the door very gently and placed her food on the golden table. He then sat down and joined her for dinner. Bronx sadly came and sat down on the chair across from Joe. He was worried about Bronx; she wasn't eating. She was staring out the window, thinking about family. The old butler talked to Bronx gently. He asked what was wrong as he pet her cotton-soft coat. Bronx licked his hand and then gazed back out the window at the park in the distance. Francois knew she needed to play outside, breathe fresh air, and she needed a friend.

"Joesph!!!" screamed Tripoline Bouvier. "You were supposed to fluffy my pillows!"

"Comin' me lady," Joe said. He slowly headed to Tripoline Bouvier's bedroom to fluff the pillows for the fiftieth time. Triploine looked inside the mirror and thought how beautiful she was. Her hair was blonde with zig-zags. Her hair was long and stacked up high on her head. Her lipstick was dark gold, and her dress was dark pink. Lots of people loved her; people thought she was the best and the prettiest woman. However, she was a thief. She never wore the jewels in the country she stole them from. The truth was, although she had a pretty reflection, she was horrible and sneaky!

Back in the bedroom, Bronx slowly jumped off her chair and headed to bed. Her bed was pink with gold trim. It was round and almost looked like a crown. She put on music from her gramophone and listened to Swan Lake every night to help her feel comfortable. Bronx drifted to sleep.

CHAPTER TWO

Dreaming of True Treasures

Bronx began to dream about winning her twentieth-first place trophy. She was back in England at Buckingham Palace and prancing down a red carpet. She jumped through fire hoops, ran through the tubes, and did a backflip in front of Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth clapped and gave Bronx a humongous trophy that was solid gold. Bronx next went to the poodle room and sat waiting for Tripoline Bouvier to come get her. The other dogs were giggling and whispering. Bronx felt left out. She was too shy to talk with the other dogs. Besides, Tripoline Bouvier never liked her barking. Tripoline picked up Bronx from the waiting room. Tripoline was excited. She was excited to see the trophy but not Bronx. Tripoline Bouvier also fell asleep in her dark purple bedroom. Her bed had four, gold Corinthian- columns. The columns nearly touched the ceiling. Her sheets were dark purple with gold trim that touched the floor. She had a golden headboard with a nine-inch pearl in the middle. She was lying perfectly still and relaxed. She was dreaming of the ruby-mixed diamond she would steal as soon as she put her team together. She dreamed about distracting the guards and Bronx coming in and grabbing the ruby-mixed diamond. They would then leave in a taxi car. She put her hands around it and started kissing it. In reality, she was kissing her foot. She was a very flexible woman.

CHAPTER FOUR

Amanda's Day at Work

Marvin the cat went down the stairs in Amanda's house very slowly. Marvin went to wake up the little Chihuahuas. They were heading to the jewelry store for work. The jewelry store was owned by an elegant woman named Gigi. The store was called Gigi's Exclusive Gems. Amanda was 18 years old, her hair was hazelnut, and she had sea-green eyes. The Chihuahua's names were Kirby and Scout. Kirby was a brown Chihuahua who was serious. Scout was a funny, fast dog who was annoying. Marvin went out the door to the taxi and called the dogs to come. The little dogs ran in the car. Amanda walked out of the house and got in the taxi too. Amanda put her seat belt on and asked the man to head to the jewelry store. Then the taxi driver came and said, "Are you ready for a ride?"

"Thanks for being here to take us," said Amanda to the taxi man.

Then the taxi man said, "There was a car accident we can't go ahead, sorry."

She went back home and got on her motorcycle and the pets followed. Amanda said, "Hold on tight!"

Kirby said, "Why? Because we are jumping over the cars?" Then they jumped up in the air and the people from the car wreck were clapping loudly. Once they arrived at work, Amanda began shaping a diamond into a ball for earrings. Gigi, the store's owner, came by to let her know she was going out to pick up macaroons for everyone. Gigi gave Amanda the keys to the jewelry store and told her that she was bringing Rico (a black Havanese) with her. She brought him along because Rico would freak out without his mommy Gigi. She left Titus. Titus was the brindle Cane-Corso who guarded the store against bad guys. After Gigi departed, three customers came in. One of the customers was a young girl shopping for earrings. Her name was Victoria. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She always bought her own jewelry and only earrings. She never would put on rings— especially not a wedding ring! Yuck! The other two did not look friendly like Victoria. They looked up to trouble. Titus growled loudly. He wanted to warn them to behave. While they were taking notes, one of them stole a tiny diamond near Amanda's workstation. Titus bit his fatty arm until he returned it, but Amanda didn't notice. She was helping Victoria. Kirby and Scout snuck outside to played in the aisles. All of this was caught on camera. After they all left, Gigi returned and they finished the workday with chocolate macaroons.

CHAPTER 5

Bronx is Let Out

The butler opened the front door and he ran upstairs. Bronx saw the open door and gate and ran away from the mansion property. She was scared and excited. Bronx saw mean rats, stinky- trash cans, snakes, spiders, and sewers. It smelled like a mix of bubble gum and smelly socks. She saw something moving fast and it ran up to her face. What was it? Then the thing yipped, "Hello, I'm a Chihuahua."

"A what?" questioned Bronx. She looked at the Chihuahua. She was frightened.

"Then come on, come on and sniff me! Come on!"

"Sniff?" Bronx thought in her head. Sniff what? "No! Never! Sniffing that is not proper!"

"O-KEY-DO-KEY!" said the Chihuahua. The Chihuahua then said, "What's your name? Where are you from lass?"

Bronx relaxed and said, "My name is Bronx and I live in the mansion up the windy road."

The Chihuahua looked upset. The Chihuahua said, "You should be on the streets eating old molded stuff! Not stuck in a place like that."

"No!" said Bronx. "That is gross. I want to find a new home. Please excuse me as I pass by."

The Chihuahua barked, "Lass!" Just then, another Chihuahua came out.

Bronx said, "I'm sorry. What's your name?"

The Chihuahua said, "Kirby. Gee, Miss, you sure are a proper poodle."

Chapter 6

A Visit to Amanda's House

She followed Kirby and a beautiful victorian house was in front of her. She gazed for a while till an orange cat came up.

The cat came up to her and said, "Hello."

Bronx said, "What's your name?"

The cat said, "Marvin."

Then Bronx said, "I never saw a cat ever."

Marvin meowed, "Are you sure?"

Bronx said, "I'm sure!"

"Do you want something to eat?" Marvin asked.

"Depends. What's on the menu?" Bronx questioned.

"Kibby or canned food."

"Sounds good to me," said Bronx. Inside there were intricate checkered floors. Marvin jumped up and pushed off the canned food. The cat pulled on a metal piece and opened it. Bronx thought the food was ten times better than a moldy sandwich. She filled up on all of the cans.

She ate until she burped! "Excuse me," she said. She looked out to the window surprisingly it was already nighttime.

The Chihuahuas were asleep in a big old blanket. Bronx looked at the stars with the cat and fell asleep. Amanda just noticed the new dog she pet her belly and with back in her bedroom. In the morning, they awoke and took a walk outside to their favorite hot- dog food truck. This was Bronx's first time going to a hot dog stand. As they came near the stand Bronx smelled cooked meat, ketchup, relish, and mustard. It wasn't Bronx's typical type of mustard, Grey Poupon; it was bright yellow mustard. She saw the stand. It was bright yellow and red. The menu had a list of 20 different types of hot dogs. There were bacon hot dogs, ice-cream hot dogs, plain hot dogs, honey pork hot dogs, and even corn-filled hot dogs! The list went on and on.

Bronx was upset when she saw that the stand read, "GET YOUR HOT DOGS!" She was furious! A silly man with blue eyes and green hair popped up to the window. He noticed that there was a scared dog. "Want a hot dog?!" The man giggled in a goofy voice. Bronx barked angrily. The hot dog man looked at the sign that read "Hog dogs!"

He chuckled, "Oh no! I should change the sign to "Hot Meat!" Then he laughed and laughed. Amanda explained to Bronx that it was okay. The meat was not dogs!

"This is my dad. You can call him goofy Uncle Mark," Amanda said.

Bronx ordered a plain hot dog from goofy Uncle Mark. Amanda ordered a honey pork hot dog, Kirby ordered a hamburger hot dog, and Scout ordered an ice-cream hot dog. Bronx bit into the hot dog and she loved it! She jumped up to Uncle Mark and licked him on his face. His beard was prickly like a cactus but she was so happy that she didn't even realize it. They all said thank you before heading to the dog park.

Bronx saw the park only from a window before. Now that she was nearly in it, it looked humongous. She sniffed and smelled many dogs. One dog smelled like marshmallows. It was a white and grey Shizuo. Another dog was black and white and smelled sticky like a dirty sock! He was a border collie. One dog smelled like caramel; it was a young pug. Bronx had never seen so many happy dogs in her life. They were running around, sticking their tongues out and not prancing elegantly. The Border collie was herding four bichon frise dogs. The little Shih Tzu was trying to avoid the grass under her paws. The pug was wrestling down other dogs. Bronx was nervous and shaking in her paws. The border collie came up to Bronx and tried to herd and play with her. He was jumping around and saying, "Do you want to play? Do you want to play?"

Bronx said, "How?"

The border collie said, "Start by chasing your tail and then jump up and down. And then chase the other dogs." They stayed at the dog park for three hours. Bronx was so happy it was just like she had always dreamed it would be. They walked back home to Amanda's.

Chapter 7

The Villain's Meeting

Tripoline Bouvier looked out the window and saw the bad guys outside in her gate. Tripoline Bouvier opened the gate and the bad guys came into her giant house. The bad guys were evil and sneaky. They came into her dining room. Tripoline Bouvier said, "Take a seat. " The bad guys saw the expensive mahogany table and one of the bad guys thought of making a deal with her.

Tripoline Bouvier asked, "What do all of you what if you help me steal?"

The men grumbled, "Gold, diamonds, and this quality-built table.

Then Tripoline Bouvier looked at the guy and said, "We are going to get a ruby mixed diamond. They heard barking in the distance. Tripoline Bouvier said, "I have a poodle named Bronx, she's gone and I'm glad I get a break from that rat." Tripoline contemplated the fact that Bronx was getting older and probably win fewer trophies. Maybe it was better that she left.

Chapter 8

The Jewel Goes Missing!

It was nighttime at the museum. There was a storm that was getting worse each second. The pups were not afraid as they headed home. A huge car was splashing by them with its lights off. It was headed toward the museum. Bronx was sure it was Bouvier's vehicle, but a small man was driving this time instead of the butler. Could this be the night they were stealing the jewels?

The three dogs and cat arrived safely at Amanda's house, but sopping wet. Drying off, they told Amanda about the car. Amanda ran to turn on the T.V. and put on the news. She saw an update on a missing jewel! It happened minutes ago at the museum!

The reporter said, "The police are on the lookout for the ruby mixed diamond. They believe the car is a golden limo. The suspects might be armed and dangerous.

After that Kirby asked, "Amanda, did you see the news?"

"Yes, I did," answered Amanda.

"Well, I think it was Tripoline Bouvier," said Marvin.

Chapter 9

The Idea

It was midnight when Bronx came up with an idea! They could help the police catch Tripoline once and for all! She woke Amanda and gave her puppy dog eyes to convince her to help.

Then the taxi driver came and hollered, "Are you ready for a ride?"

Amanda requested, "Will you please take us to this house. It's house number 1122. Thanks for being here to take us!" They arrived at the house, parked behind a bush, and crept across the grass. They found out the front door was open from all of the wind that day.

The butler noticed the door open and that Bronx was on her way. He whispered, "Come in here quietly, please." He told Amanda that the house was still full of villains. Some of them carried guns! They are all sleeping now. He led them upstairs to Tripoline's bedroom. The butler was too scared to go inside her room. Scout entered the room like a snake on its belly. The room was dark Scout could hear snoring. He saw a diamond on Triploine's vanity. It was shimmering in the moonlight. Scout reached up and a hairbrush fell. Tripline Bouvier woke up and jump out of bed! Scout grabbed the diamond and ran out with the other animals and Amanda too.

They ran downstairs and Tripoline followed pigeon-toed with a mud mask on her face. She was screaming, "Get those little rats! They have my DIAMONDS!!!" Everyone in the mansion rushed to get them!

Chapter 10

The End

Amanda ran back to the taxi and went to the police office. She showed them the evidence of the diamonds. The police drove Amanda, to her destination. Titus was there, his owner who was the chief Mark Walker hollered at his swat team to come to the giant mansion. Tripoline caught her eyes on the police. And grabbed the mixed diamond and ran! Titus jumped on her and with one bite off came her wig. Ten malinois dogs attacked the rest of the team, and police got Bouvier.

Bronx was extremely happy that they got rid of Bouvier and the guys. Bronx crooned, "Where am I going to live?"

Amanda said, "You're going to live with us, welcome to the family!" Bronx wagged her tail and licked her face!

Tripoline screamed, "I'm coming for you. You'll see!" All Bronx thought about was how Tripoline would hate the orange jumpsuit.

A handsome, brown-haired, young policeman shook Amanda's hand and congratulated her for being brave. Bronx thought to herself, "Something about the policeman feels special, well how would I know I'm just a poodle."
