As the cold night sets into the environment, the road gets light up by streetlights and the passing cars.
Upon reaching the entrance of the hotel, Yu Xin asks her driver to go home first, she will drive her car home alone. The driver passed over her car keys and bid farewell to his client. As she drove back home, passing a cross junction area suddenly a bright light hits her eyes, before she knew it, she was in pain and felt her orientation was upside down.
A truck hit her car hard causing her car to flip, soon she can hear the siren of the ambulance. Yu Xin tried to get out of her seat belt, but it was so painful. After several tries, she managed to release the lock and tries to get herself upright but when she tried to move her entire body was screaming in pain. She endured the excruciating pain and kick the car door open and crawled out. People pulled her out away from the car that could blow up any moment.
Yu Xin was quickly brought to the hospital while the ambulance brigade administers first aid on her. 30 long hours later, she was out of the operating theatre still gripping onto life. Yu Xin was admitted to ICU as she was not out of danger, when the doctor came to check on her health, he was shocked to find her awake. She signals the doctor for a paper and pen, wrote with all her might enduring the immense pain. She asked for a Do Not Resuscitate order, knowing her condition she won't be able to endure such pain and already knows that her organs are failing.
Even the doctor knows that even CPR will harm her more than saving. Having a broken right leg, right arm, hip bones, and rib, a hard blow to her sides injured her organs as well. She also had head injuries, it's a miracle she is conscious. After signing the form, her friends came in protective gowns.
They looked so haggard. She can see that a small beard formed on their chins. Eyes reddened, unkempt hair. She smiled at them as if telling them she is fine, and they didn't have to worry. Her childhood friends cried making her want to cry, a tear fell out, but she kept her feeling stable, if she cries, she will feel more pain, so she quietly took a deep breath suppressing her feelings and emotion. When nightfall came, Yu Xin knew her condition was getting worst.
She opened her eye and saw her company's vice president accompanying her. Seeing his helpless face, she reached out and mustered the strength and said "I will be fine, it must have been a long day for you. You are still young, at the age of 18 you should be playing around but you insist on working with me. Young people need to eat and sleep well so that they can face whatever problems in their way as they grow up. Go back home, take care of the 2 idiots. Who knows what mess they will create?".
The vice president held her hands and said "Get well soon. I will be back to find you after I am done." And left the ICU. Yu Xin looked at the ceiling smiled to herself, her pain dissipates, silence in her ear, and darkness filled her eyes. Yu Xin fell into a deep slumber even the machine making a blaring beep sound could not wake her.
