Brandon looked at the woman sleeping in the hospital bed from the couch. It had been four days now and she was still sleeping. He could not understand her coma. Simon had told him that she was improving but Brandon had been with her all through and she had not even turned or let out a sound to show that she was doing okay. His heart was troubled. He was alone in the room as he had excused his friends to focus on their lives two days before and he had Watson running his business meanwhile and only send to him the urgent issues that needed his attention. It was almost midnight and he was tired of working already. He stood up and walked to the window, thinking about what Simon had told him two days ago. Natasha's blood and the Owen's were…
"Bran…don…" Natasha softly interrupted his thoughts. He quickly turned around and walked to the bedside. She opened her eyes wearily and took her hand in to his. "Thank…you for being always… there… for me. How can I not…love you? You… you, Mr. Joseph, …you have been…my…ride and die…more than anyone in my life. I am so…very happy…to be in love…with you." She added with a struggle and she closed her eyes again. Brandon hurriedly pressed the button and Simon and the nurse came rushing in. Simon looked at Brandon and saw his eyes were almost wet but he was fighting it.
"What happened?" He asked Brandon who was bending over at the bedside with her hand in his.
"She woke up, tried to speak then went back to sleep."
"What did she say?"
"Murmurs...it was like a goodbye speech!" He almost shouted but controlled himself. Simon understood and asked the nurse to prep the lab for some tests.
"Bran, I am going to need you to go and freshen up. When you come back, all will be well."
"But…"
"Go! Just for a while. Feel the wind, have a change of clothes, grab a bite. Think about what was said. Then come back. We shall be through with the tests then." Simon said and pushed Brandon out of the office, placing his laptop in his hands. Then he shut the door. Brandon had no other option but to stop a cab and rush home. After a cold relaxing shower, he took out his phone and called Watson: "Wats, I need you to dig deeper on Julie's and Natasha's births. Hospitals, attending doctors and nurse, dates. All of it. Dig deep." He hung up and threw himself on the bed for a while. He did not know how long he had slept but his phone startled him up awake. It was Simon. Brandon had a bad feeling. He took out one of his car keys from the bedside table and rushed to the parking. He realized the keys he had picked were for his Roll Royce and felt that that was too much attention so he rushed back to get the keys to the extra BMW in the parking since Watson had the other one. All the time, he ignored Simon's calls.
Within a few minutes, the silver black BMW parked at the VIP parking and he took an elevator straight to the VIP room. He was feeling fresher than earlier. As soon as he got in to the room, the sight of Natasha seated up smiling at him was the one to greet him. Without thinking, he rushed to her and pressed his lips on hers. She did not refuse. She knew she had missed him too. And the man did not let her go until he became conscious of his environment, which was too late by then. Simon and his two nurses stood there perplexed at the scene. Brandon released the woman, who was struggling to catch her breath, then looked at her. Her face flushed scarlet. He looked at her and was even more sure of her feelings.
"I do not mean to interrupt Romeo and Juliet but I think it is important for Romeo to know that his Juliet is doing okay. She is still weak, and she may be so for the next few days, well at least until her menses stop, but she is fit enough to go home. Juliet, we should really stop meeting like this or Romeo there will lose his mind." Simon joked. "While at it, please Natasha, eat well, especially iron enriched vitamins. Take lots of water and healthy fluids. Your condition is not fatal for now, so when you take care of yourself now, in the future, you will have no problem, especially when you get pregnant. Let me go and prepare your discharge paper." Simon then left followed by his two nurses. Brandon had not taken his eyes off Natasha the whole time and she was becoming uncomfortable.
"What is it?" Natasha asked trying to free her hands from his grip and hiding her blush.
"I have missed you." Brandon said bluntly and kissed her hands.
"Stop…" Natasha tried to speak while trying even harder to free her hands.
"Stop what? Trying to hold my woman? But…but she is mine, just as I am hers. She is my Juliet, just as I am her Romeo. And this Romeo had missed his Juliet."
Natasha was surprised to see Brandon acting like a spoiled child. He was acting so babyish. One could not think an internationally known business CEO and guru would act so immaturely. She looked at him closely and noticed the eye bags under his eyes and figured that he must have been watching over her the whole time with little time to rest. She felt guilty. Ever since she came in to his life, he had been deprived of rest and sleep and time to work. She felt tears swelling up in her eyes, but she could not wipe them since her hands were tightly held in his grip. His face filled with worry and he held her hands with his one hand and the other wiped her tears. He wanted to ask why she was crying but he was unable to open his mouth and utter a word. "Bran, I am sorry for always making you worried and tired and sleepless and…" He lips were shut with a firm passionate kiss.
"Come on. Let us go home. You need to rest some more." Brandon said and helped her off the bed and passed to her clothes from the closet she could change in to. He then gave her space to change as he went to check if everything was ready and she was cleared to go. He then came back for her and carried her all the way down till the parking and put her in to the car. She had initially protested but he was way stronger than her, especially now that she still feeling unwell. By the time they got to The Palace, Natasha had already fallen asleep again and she did not know which bedroom and in whose bed she was until the next morning. As soon as he put her to bed, Brandon went down the stairs to talk to Mrs. Gilbert. The latter was asleep but she got up immediately she had heard the young boss come in.
"Mrs. Gilbert, Natasha is back and I already informed you of her condition. From tomorrow henceforth, ensure all her food is packed with the nutrients and vitamins her body needs. You also did a short course in nutrition, right?"
"Yes boss."
"Good. You will be our nutrition expert. That will mean a raise in your salary. I know you will take good care of her. Goodnight." Brandon concluded and turned around to go to bed.
"Sleep well too young boss." Mrs. Gilbert said to herself, half-whispering in excitement. She was already being paid well enough for a house manager but now she was to have a raise? 'How could one not love the young boss!' She thought to herself as she retired for the night. It was already quarter to four in the morning. Brandon went upstairs and directly to work in his study room. There was a lot of it pending from the five days or so he had been away.
Noon next day, Natasha opened her eyes and the first think she noticed was the balcony on her left. She recalled she had left the hospital early in the morning with Brandon. 'Brandon!' Her mind snapped at the sudden realization she was in. She was in his room. She looked around. There was no one. She listened closely, there was no one in the shower either. 'I must be alone.' His bed was quite comfortable. His side of the bed was very well made. It showed that no one had lay beside her the whole time. She felt hungry. She could not remember the last time she ate. She got out of the bed. She was still dressed in the free dress she had on at the hospital when leaving and she could smell its hospital smell. She rushed to her room, took a shower and put on one of her pink silk pajama. She then headed down for a meal.
"You are awake Natasha." Mrs. Gilbert welcomed her softly.
"I am Mrs. Gilbert. Thank you. And I am so very hungry." Natasha replied as she sat at the dining table. "Brandon?"
"The young boss left early in the morning. He had a lot of work pending. He said he try to be back early, for you." Mrs. Gilbert added smiling as she placed several pieces of fried liver and two large spoonful of spinach in her plate, a cup of warm milk and a few pieces of apricot fruits. Natasha looked at the meal before her and understood what was happening. She smiled sweetly at Mrs. Gilbert.
"Thank you. Was this his idea?" She asked having a piece of the fruit. Mrs. Gilbert nodded affirmatively and left the dining area. Natasha forced down the food, especially the spinach. She had always loathed green leafy vegetables. She then took a walk outside the mansion and for the first time she noticed the fleet of cars at the back of the house. Since she had come, she had not thought of looking through what the mansion had. She only noticed the golf course field on its right and a swimming pool on it left but could not figure out where the road winding up round the house went to. Now she knew. There were several types of cars in the parking area including the BMW he had carried her in the early in the morning from the hospital and the jeep he had given her. There was also one very black Rolls Royce, one dark blue Ferrari, one golden Lamborghini and three different sport cars parked. She then remembered the rooms upstairs and was curious about them too. The first door she opened from the stairs on her left was kept tightly locked. She moved on to the next one, it was a bedroom just like hers, only less fancy, but still classy. Most of the following rooms were bedrooms but one turned out to be a fully equipped gym. 'Brandon has his own gym?!'She thought out loud. Four other rooms were locked.
When she got to the last door at the end of the corridor, it was a stair case leading up to the roof top of the house. As soon as she opened the door, the sun hit her face as directly as it could. She walked round the rooftop as she looked at the beautiful views around the house. On the right was the deep blue swimming pool water then further were the trees that almost formed a forest garden. On the left was a large golf course as green as grass that are constantly watered, to the north was the view of the other houses in the estate and to the left was a beautiful overview of the city a distance from them. The sight was breathtaking. She could stand there and watch the different sights all day. It did not take long till she noticed that she was standing on a private plane patch. She almost fainted because of shock. 'How rich are you?!' She shouted.
