Chapter 1 - Chapter One

I came out of my dorm room looking like shit. My eyes were probably puffy with dark circles under them because I caught a cold from lack of sleep. The medium length curly hair that hang on my head was a tangled mess and I was wearing an ugly grey larger than life sweater. Despite all that, I still managed to hold my head and command the same amount of respect and attention I did everyday.

Everyone could see that something was wrong too but I doubt any of them had the balls to mention it so my random change in style went unquestioned for most of the day until I appeared in her presence.

"What the fuck happened to your face? You look like shit." The comment that everyone at the lunch table was avoiding making was finally thrown out by Reile Venis.

Being the only human being i can stand without having the urge to choke to death and the human being that knows the most about me, she gets away with more things than most. Its what the rest describe as a best friend. I just call it the human being that i would regret messing with because she has learnt to navigate my mean comments.

"Nothing just allergies." I say loud enough for the rest of the girls at the table to hear and then lower my voice so tat the rest of the conversation is just between the two of us.

"What did you find out yesterday?"

"She's getting remarried." I have no idea why I have a problem with my mother getting remarried mostly due to the fact that our relationship is.....did we ever have a relationship? But for some reason, the idea of her getting married to this new guy i nave never even met just doesn't sit well with me.

"Why do you care?" That was a question that I don't have an answer to. "Have you forgotten that that bitch is the reason we ended up here? Have you forgotten all the shit she did to you when we were younger? Or did all of that just go to shit and now all of a sudden you actually like her?"

Her voice was getting louder due to her obvious frustration and the people around us could here glimpses of the conversation therefore earning us a few curious eyes.

"Shit. Could you lower your tone? Of course I haven't forgotten but its still not nice to find out about it on her social media. I don't even know the guy. Don't you think i at least deserve to meet him before they get married?"

"You think she gives a fuck. What are you? Her mother? She left you in a boarding school for your twelfth birthday and has visited exactly once since then. Take a hint. She doesn't want you to be part of her life anymore. And its not like your dad is doing anything to stop it."

My wide shocked eyes stared into her angry eyes. We never talked about happened to my family because it was an obvious trigger for me but when Reile gets angry, all rules and common sense flies out the window.

"I appreciate your concern...but we should talk about this another time." I try to dissolve the situation and the anger that is brewing in me at the same time.

"Don't give me that shit. I know you want to tear my head off right now." My eyes that I didn't even know were closed snapped open. The bitch was screwing with me on purpose. She knew that she was pissing me off. "Stop being a pussy and just do it."

Another thing that I don't like is excessive vulgar. That pisses me off too.

"What's going on here?" Someone's voice captures our attention and brings me back to earth. It was Ms. Jenkins. "Is everything alright over here?"

This has successfully gotten everyone's attention. I force a smile.

"Nothing's wrong Just a very passionate conversation." I force the words through the clenched teeth of a forced smile. Reile snorts loudly and I nearly slap her. She loves that attention. I, for one, am loathing being stared at by half of the cafeteria. Ms. Jenkins walks away from our table after giving us warning looks.

A tray hits the table and its one of Reile's friends, Angel. The one who doesn't know how to mind her business.

"What was that about?" She says as she snatches a handful of fries off my plate. Normally, i would say something about that but I'm too busy cursing Reile in my mind to care.

"It wasn't her fault." I hiss at Reile and she rolls her eyes and turns her head towards me in disbelief.

"Which part isn't her fault? The fact that one day she just walk up and tore your family apart and locked you in the basemen like a demon possessed child or the fact that barely two months after that, she decides to send you to a reform school for rich kids for something no one knows about and only visited you when she had that you were acting up and even then she was nothing but cruel to you? Tell me which part of that isn't her fault?" She hisses back and i honestly have no idea why her mentioning all this I driving me to protect my mother. I don't even like her!

"Hey! If you guys are going to hiss at each other, might as well include the rest of us, right?" I turn and look at her like she grew an extra pair of eyes.

"Handle your friend, Reile." If you paid close attention to the voice i used, you would notice that I was this close to....what? This close to what? Angel was both twice my weight and height. And yet I managed to get her attention.

"What did you say?" And now I have her attention. "I don't get why you to are getting so riled up about family. For all I know, your life is a cake walk compared to the rest of the people in this room? What did your mom do. Did she forget to get you the new Prada bag she promised for your birthday?" She clearly had no idea what she was talking about and she was talking at the top of her voice which means that everyone could here what she was saying.

"Angel! Shut up and mind your own business." Reile shot back. She didn't listen.

"Or what? Is the pretty princess over here going to throw a gold bar at my head? Or is she going to get her dad to gather dirt on my mom and put her in jail for the rest of my life just like he did to my dad?"

Angel had a problem with everyone who worked for the government just because her dad was caught in a huge fraud scandal and got twenty years. My dad being the Director of the C.I.A. puts me somewhere on her list. She sees all of us as useless idiots who fly and cheat their way through life. And she makes damn sure that everyone knows her opinion.

Take her down.

And that is exactly what I was avoiding. The tiny little voice that blazes through my thoughts when I get annoyed. Before I knew it, I was standing with my hands pressed against the surface of the table.

"Do you have something to say to me?" I asked in a deathly low voice.

"Yeah. You were right about one thing. Your mom is a whore."

I have no idea how she came to that conclusion or she was just trying to piss me off. It was a small nudge, but when you combine it with the anger that I was suppressing from yesterday and my argument with Reile, it was enough to send me over the age,

TAKE HER DOWN.

And then i detached from my body and watched from the sidelines. I was strangling her and she was trying to fight back. She had no idea how to use her size to her advantage. Would you look at that? All talk and nothing to show for it. Every time she tried to punch me, I would let go, dodge the punch and return to strangling her. Someone tried to pull me off her but they only ended up with a elbow to the face. And then I start to hit her. Seeing her hands held up in front of her face makes me smile and by the time they manage to get me off her, her face us a bloody mess.

"Listen to me you self conscious ugly fat quim. Next time you choose to mess with me, make sure you can handle what happens after that." I screamed at her as they dragged me from the room.
