The most awaited event of the trip was the bonfire night. Everyone was excited for the event.
Autumn was excited because she was finally able to attend at least one event before she went back to her regular and monotonous life. Everyone was ready to go.
The bonfire night was supposed to happen behind the resort because it was windy near the beach.
Everyone helped in the bonfire preparation. Some students brought their guitar and handycam to record the beautiful view and the bonfire night.
As for snacks Miss.Gu prepared marshmallows, Moroccan skewers, healthy hamburgers, marinated fish & chunky vegetables skewers and some other delicious snacks.
As preparations were complete, everyone sat down around the bonfire and were discussing some games to play.
The first game was the typical truth or dare. As the card games were not allowed, truth or dare can be fun.
They started to spin a bottle and the first person to be chosen was Christy.
"I'll ask!" A boy said.
"Okay, go ahead.." Christy said as her voice was full of confidence.
"Got a boyfriend?" He asked.
"Yes.." Christy said.
"Okay next." The boy said with a gloomy expression as he spinned the bottle once again.
'Maybe he likes Christy... She is so loveable of course he would like her.' Autumn thought with a smile.
"Yeah... It's Miss.Gu." Everyone shouted excitedly.
"Okay.. Ask away.." Miss.Gu said.
"Miss.Gu, do you have a boyfriend?" Someone asked.
"No.. I don't." Miss.Gu said with a smile.
The game continued and soon it was Autumn's turn.
"Are you and Harron in a relationship or you are just fooling us?" A girl asked.
That girl was none other than Ariel, one of Christy's friend.
"Yes, I'm dating Harron and what will I get from fooling you guys, but if you want to confirm, go ask Harron himself." Autumn answered right away.
Ariel was irritated. She glared at Autumn and Autumn glared back at her.
'You think you can spoil my mood... Dream on!' Autumn thought.
The game continued and Miss.Gu went in for a while to pick a blanket as she forgot to bring any.
As Miss.Gu was absent it was an opportunity for those who wanted to bully Autumn.
Ariel was the first to interfere.
"How do you seduce boys with that hideous look of yours?" Ariel asked Autumn.
No one said anything to her while she was trying to humiliate Autumn.
"Well not everyone is rotten to their core, so some people see me for who I am rather than how I look. I'm sure you never came across anyone like that.... And I can see why... With that nasty attitude of yours it's no wonder you didn't find someone nice... "Autumn said as she mocked Ariel.
She became flustered and everyone started whispering and giggling.
" How dare you!" Ariel said in a furious tone.
" How dare I? You were the one who provoked me, don't even think I'll take that lying down.... " Autumn said.
" You don't deserve Harron." Ariel said.
"Well, that's not something for you to decide.... 'My boyfriend' is the one who can decide it.." Autumn said as she highlighted the words my boyfriend.
'I know why she is being so mean to me... It's because she likes Harron.. You think I can't notice that... She is Christy's friend but Christy is not even stopping her...' Autumn thought.
Ariel was furious so she started to target Hannah.
"And you... I know why you are with her... You want to be closer to Harron isn't that correct... Such an opportunist." Ariel said.
Hannah used to act brave all the time but she was actually very meek. She can't confront anyone if she is in front of a crowd.
"I... It's not like that.. I'm not like you guys who.." Hannah was saying after mustering up her courage but Ariel stopped her in the middle of her sentence.
"What did you say? You bitch.. Trying to answer me back, huh?" Ariel and her friends said.
Hannah was scared and flinched as Ariel raised her voice.
"What do you think you are doing? You think you are all high and mighty after trying to bully me and my friends. You are just like the street dogs who bark every time they see someone.. No wait, comparing you to the street dogs is actually an insult to them.. You are worse than that." Autumn said in an irritated tone.
Everyone was shocked to see Autumn getting angry.
Ariel and her friends became flustered and furious as they saw people mocking them.
" You!" Ariel shouted.
As she was about to hit Autumn she heard someone gossip.
" Oh boy! She is actually getting on Autumn's bad side.. Does she not fear 'the consequences' that will follow her actions?"
"She is actually trying to hit Autumn who is a trained boxer and is more than strong enough to fling Ariel aside in one go."
She heard and stopped. She glared at Autumn.
Autumn glared at her back.
"If you want to fight me... Come try me! I'll make sure you regret it.. That's the least I can do, right?" Autumn said as she threatened Ariel and her friends.
Ariel and her friends were quiet because they knew Autumn was fully capable of doing what she was saying, as they were now at a loss of words, Christy spoke up.
"Autumn, they were just kidding with you... Don't threaten them.. You know you are a trained boxer, how can you say it like that?" Christy said trying to paint Autumn in a bad light.
"Well, they were the ones who were bullying me and my friends... Do you expect me to sit still and do nothing? You also kept silent when they were ganging up on us but now when I handle the situation, you are trying to take their side..." Autumn said in an irritated tone.
" What are you talking about? I'm not taking sides.... I'm just trying to not let your fight ruin the night for everyone.... Is that wrong? " Christy said.
'It's clear that she is trying to say that it was all our fault but what can I say? I can't just start fighting with her too...' Autumn thought.
"Well maybe if you had spoken up right from the start then things wouldn't have gone this far.. They are your friends so they would've at least listened to you." Autumn said as she was trying to calm down.
"It's not like I enjoy fighting and beating people up... You also know that, don't you?"
Autumn said as she was trying to indicate that Christy is her friend and knows her too well to be saying otherwise.
Christy knew that if she said anything now everyone would see her as a bad person, she stayed silent as Miss.Gu returned.
The game was already ruined and most of the people were not in the mood for playing further.
They got up, ate some snacks, took a few pictures and went to their respective rooms.
The next morning the trip was over and they had to go back. Autumn was ignoring Christy because of what happened last night. She was disappointed.
They didn't talk to each other on the way back home. Autumn didn't even bother to start a conversation first as she always does.
This time was different, things changed between them somehow. Autumn began to realise how different Christy is when she is with her in comparison to how she is when she is with others.
As Autumn reached home there was a surprise waiting for her.
She opened the door and uttered.
"I'm home... Well not like anyone cares... *Sighs*"
"Who said no one cares?"
Autumn was startled as turned to the direction of the unexpected yet familiar voice.
"Welcome home, kiddo."
The person said in a warm tone with a smile.
Autumn ran towards that person and leaped in for a hug.....
