Author Note: This is Not A Chapter. Feel free to skip this if you want. I'll end up deleting this post in a few weeks anyway. ;D
I really just wanted to stop in for a few moments to let everyone know I wasn't dropping or giving up on this story.
So what's happened to our daily updates, you ask?
I got sidetracked. When browsing the forums here, I saw the Writer's Challenge for the "Egotistical Male Protagonist", and it inspired an idea top into my head for something different. I thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be neat to have a self-centered, egotistical protagonist, who's basically a loser? The guy thinks that everything in life is centered around him, yet he doesn't put in any real effort to affect anything....
And wouldn't it be cool to explore the idea of WHAT IF.... he really did become the center of it all, like he imagines himself to be. Would he step up to the plate and become responsible? Grow into someone decent and respectable? Or would he always just blame everyone else for his failures and remain trash?"
And so, I just played around with that basic concept and started working on "Nobody's Tale", and it seemed to resonate with me and I've just been focused on it for the last week, or so, during the contest period -- and it's now an even longer read than this story is, so far!!
At around 40k words, Nobody's Tale is probably about 2/3rd finished for the Intro-Arc, and once I get it wrapped up, I'm going to return my attention back to finishing up the intro to Alex's tale here.
So bare with me here for another 7-10 days or so, and then I'll get back to the daily updates to this story once again. I've got a lot of ideas for Alex and his life as a cultivator, so I just wanted to let you guys know this story isn't dead. At least not yet, and I doubt for quite some time in the future either.
