Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Lessons

Getting out of the tree hole he rested in, Tynofast straddled the far end of an arm long branch, gazing at the burrow of a certain tree.

It was his birth place and a store house for food..., nutritious food! Food he needed for growth. He knew it took at least a week for him to digest his sibling but it wouldn't hurt to open one to drink yolk slime.

Tynofast found himself approaching the nest gingerly while moving at a brisk pace. His body and mind dancing in anticipation.

No sooner had he reached the hole, when he jumped back—his cool blood now ice-cold. A sound deep and firm came from his previous position. Now in it, was a robotic tail bigger than even he was.

The androids lenses focused on him, a pleasing clicking sound came from it's head as the android gazed at him almost accostingly.

Frightened and furious Tynofast stared into its eyes, failing to attempt a staring contest due to his body's violent rolling when a metal tail struck again. Too close this time.

Time seemed to have slowed down, his body was just about to dart into the cover of the underbrush instinctively.

Why was he being targetted by this steel adult? Who was supposed to protect him?Why was he under the mercy of hum-No!...It all boiled down to the fact that he was weaker than this metal lizard.

His mind was overloaded with fury at the thought of weakness and helplessness. With no other choice he sauntered off after a frustrated shriek vowing vengeance.

Wasting no time, he had his hormone production optimized by the AI. The only thing in this place that was partially his.

Soon his anger ebbed, in its place a weird feeling took over, probably the work of the nanites inside him messing with his hormones.

Still bitter from annoyance, he busied himself, not failing to render this incident to memory. In order to start his quest for revenge, he needed to make his way to the nearest training compound.

A sense of general direction came to him as the AI began it's routing function. With this he gathered his courage and stalked through the dreary vegetation of the park. A dangerous journey awaited him.

.....

In the control room:

Proffessor Synthia Argix had finished watching the farce displayed through the 'eyes' of the android, her expression unchanged throughout her viewership.

Though most who first saw it were satisfied by his cannibalism upon birth, the others, the whole, unhatched eggs, were to act as competition for W1W8RM.

It was a form of training before they transferred him to Wargle dome to fulfill the purpose of his creation as a battle beast.

For this same purpose, Xenoneural Lab had invested alien DNA found on Mars into making him. Though, that was also to find out its effects when spliced with organisms from earth.

From his precociousness, it seemed to have pronounced effects on brain development, with physiological ones blatantly ignored by the collective staff here due to the fact they could induce such changes fairly easily without the alien sample.

In essence more data was needed.

In any case, she was getting increasingly disgusted by the alien-reptile bastard. Call her superstitious, but she was always against the use of the unsettling alien DNA. Something about it scared her.

She always had a hunch for these kinds of things, a crucial factor in enforcing her rise to her current standing.

When the organization failed to make heads or tales of this find from Mars, they had them use it in making an alpha variant.

Surprisingly, the Lab's latest experiment was created in only a single try. An unprecedented development considering difficulty involved, one that fired her alarm bells even further.

Hence, when she was tasked with ensuring the safety of the more normal eggs against their homicidal nest mate, she seized her chance to command the android to attack it.

Sadly, she wasn't the only one in control of the android and was sharing authority with the director who limited its performance for whatever reason. This was one factor leading to her failure. The other, being the abomination's alpha variant class reflexes.

Soon, she received a warning from the director and a notice of dismissal from the project.

"Fine! Die by yourselves," She stormed of with a hiss.
