ANNE:
I had her. I saw the opportunity to destroy Bachué and I took it. I couldn't help it, I felt like a predator whose prey is defenseless, alone. I jumped on it and smashed it.
I smiled. I couldn't be more satisfied.
Who did Bachué she was? Marry the Duke? I was right. She was a fortune hunter. Even Lady Julia noticed.
I enjoyed seeing her helpless in the middle of the ballroom, confused. Looking around without really knowing what to do.
The attendees were murmuring, eyes wide, unable to believe what I had said.
Delilah had her head down as if she was sorry for what had just happened.
The Duke was pale and bewildered. Speechless.
I always win, Bachué. ALWAYS.
I was enjoying my victory when Bachué glared at me.
I responded with a crooked smile.
"Abomination you say, Lady Anne?" Bachué raised her voice, to be heard among so many murmurs.
"That is right," I confirmed.
