Anne:
I looked out the window and saw Lady Julia walking along the dark-skin. Blood rushed to my head and I clenched my fists.
"Disgusting… another black blood in the castle," I muttered under my breath.
My mother, Lady Sabine, who was near me, having tea at the coffee table, gave me a sidelong glance.
"What did you expect?" She said. "It's about Soto, that man is disgusting."
I nodded, twisting my mouth. How funny, right? My mother speaks ill of my husband and I agree.
"What can we expect now?" I continued. "Are black bloods going to be the majority in the north? Should we expect an invasion? If we are not careful, we light-skins will soon be a minority, in our own land!"
My mother took a sip of her tea.
