BACHUÉ:
I was invited to a dinner with the Queen, the Seneschal and the Queen Mother Selena Esparza. It was the first time that I would meet the mother of our King. I had heard that she was a woman with a sharp tongue and no filters.
The three of us were sitting at a long table, in the center of which there were some chandeliers, which emitted the only light in the place.
"I never thought I would live long enough to see a dark-skinned duchess," the Queen Mother commented, as we waited for dinner, "much less see the end of eternal winter. And those red eyes of yours… I've never seen anything like it. You are a wonderful thing, girl."
I blushed.
"Thank you very much, your highness."
I didn't expect her to be so nice to me. I thought she was going to be more defensive.
I loved the dress that she was wearing. Grey, with white lace.
