TORUM:
We ran through a dry forest. Several guards were chasing us, but thanks to the darkness of the forest, we managed to hide. It was not easy to escape, especially since we had to carry a painting almost a meter high.
Johan, Anuar and I were behind some bushes, crouching. We heard footsteps approaching, like metal against rocky ground.
The three of us held our breath.
The footsteps continued long and I breathed easy.
"I hope that painting is worth it," I mused.
Johan just smiled confidently. He must have known what was so special about that painting.
When we were sure that the guards weren't chasing us anymore, we stood up, left our hiding place and walked into the darkness of the night. Where were we going? Only Johan knew.
Supposedly, there I would receive my payment.
I had been promised five gold coins. That was enough to eat for a whole month. Where did they get so much money? stealing?
