Chapter 1 - Prolog

They danced in the hall with their swords at each other's throats. His blood stained her graceful white ball gown. While her blood dripped on his sword. They wondered if this was the moment to kill each other.

"Let us die together, my love," he said with the saddest smile on his face and swung the sword towards her neck. Then, a sword goes through his heart and his sword is flung far away from her. He falls to his knees and waits for his time to come.

"You should not have fallen in love with me," her cold voice echoes in his head. What she said hurt him more than the stab wound. "How cold..." he thought to himself. Tears ran down his cheek.

"I have never regretted it, not once in my life have I regretted falling in love with you. And I will still love you after I die." It was hard for him to breathe, let alone speak, but he told her what was on his mind.

She stared at him with the coldest eyes you have ever seen. She kept silent, but he did not know her heart ached for him. The mixture of sadness, anger, and his betrayal was like a storm inside her. She wants to hug him, but her ego will not let her.

"I am sorry, Lillian..."

After saying his last word, he collapsed on the floor. Until his last breath, he kept thinking about the love of his life.

Her shaky legs make she slumped on the floor, speechless and not knowing what to do. She bursts into tears and her world seemed to come apart at the seams. Her trembling hands clutching her chest because the emotional pain was too much to bear. The heartache makes it hard for her to breathe.

She crawls to his stiff body and hugs him. Places his head on her lap. She can still feel the warmth in the embrace of his cold body. She hugged closely his lifeless body. He looks so peaceful, as if he is sleeping.

"I am sorry, please come back."

She repeated that sentence over and over and her mind went crazy. She could not take the death of her lover.

"Please wait for me, I will be with you soon," she said to his lifeless body. She grabbed the dagger that was stained with his blood and stuck it to her chest. She smiled, ready to take her own life.

"I will be with you, Avian..."

She uttered the last word before stabbing herself. She takes her own life with the same dagger she uses to stab her lover.

"Lillian!!!"

She heard an anonymous voice calling her name, but it was too late. She was on the brink of death. Her eyes darkened and everything faded.
