[ Seraphina's POV ]
Kiera was sitting on my shoulder as I stood with Zethu and Graike in front of an open portal.
I was unsure if it was more unbelievable that Graike would let me go home without further wifey-nonsense, or that he could open a portal with the flick of his wrist. There were no runes, no enchanted items, no diagrams, and no chants; he just waved casually and the air opened up to show a void. Fascinating.
Dragons had magic beyond human comprehension, and I knew that Graike was immensely powerful, but it was hard to combine the image of an almighty lord with this man who had the tendency to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum in front of a candy shop. Maybe that was the cosmic balance that prevented dragons from ruling over all creatures.
"Thank you, Graike," I said.
"I didn't do anything."
