[ Zoe's POV ]
I hummed a tune while walking into the joint office with a tray of snacks in my hand.
"You are in a good mood," Luca said with a singing voice.
"There is nothing bad about today. Serina is back, and I get to work with my two favorite guys."
I kept the tray with snacks on the coffee table and I didn't miss that Luca's eyes darted toward the desk where Ash was buried behind a wall of papers. Was he upset that I counted Ash as one of my favorite guys?
We grew up together, so there was a lot of history, but the deepest thorn in Luca's heart was that I used to date Ash before I found out Luca was my mate. Unfortunately, I was an idiot who would vent to Luca whenever Ash slighted me. And that lasted for years! I believed Luca was my brother and it never crossed my mind we might be mates, and all my sob stories would come to bite me.
Luca was insecure, and it was all my fault.
