Jack made a disgusted face as he looked upon the capitol city of the Nation of Blood, seeing the top of the walls filled with vampires as well as the ground around it, the remaining forces of the vampiric army having gathered up in front of the city for one last battle. Even with one third of Reznov's forces missing, they still outnumbered the vampires three to one, and it was clear which side would win this battle once it started. To Jack's surprise, Reznov was taking his time, gathering his forces into formation at his own pace, giving the vampires time to let what was about to happen slowly sink in.
He heard someone approach him, turning to see Annie making her way to his side. While she was still malnourished, she looked better now that she had been bathed and clothed, wearing medium weighted armor and having a new sword at her hip. She reached where he was standing before grimacing at the forces before her, looking as disappointed as Jack felt.
