She looked down, seeing that it was a child that had nearly knocked her over. The girl looked up at Elaine, her yellow eyes filled with rebellion and fire, her short black hair crazy and shooting out in every direction. Elaine noticed that the child was dirty, with worn out clothes and tangles in her hair.
The second figure was a large beast-kin, who was running over to them and growling in his odd language. Arina quickly translated, her eyes never leaving the child.
"He says catch her."
Elaine squeaked again as the child dashed to the left, trying to escape. She did not get very far, as Jack's hand shot out and grabbed her wrist, so fast that the girl had no idea she was caught until she was yanked back. Jack simply lifted her off the ground, the girl trying to kick him and growling while showing her fangs.
