Jack cursed out loud as the wind swept through the air, tugging at his cloak like an angry child and chilling him to the bone. He grew up in the east, where it was generally colder than the rest of the continent, but he never liked freezing his ass off. With any other enemy, he would see the cold and snow as an advantage; but the dwarfs lived up in the mountains, where it was even colder and harsher. He did not need experience with them to know that they were used to the cold, and would not march at this time of year without being prepared for snow and blizzards.
