Xu Hang bade farewell to the Elven Queen. He activated his magic four-wheeled car and set off to the west.
After driving for about twenty miles, he saw a dark brown mountain. The mountain's color was not quite the same compared to the other mountains.
Xu Hang slowed down his car after remembering the demon wolves that the Elven Queen had mentioned. He needed to be careful.
So far, he did not encounter any of them and managed to find the mineral veins. He swiftly accessed the system's interface and marked the location.
Then, he noticed that a bunch of small dots was headed in his direction.
'Those are probably the demon wolves. The Elven Queen must have told me about them because they had her pendant. There's no doubt that she really wanted it back,' thought Xu Hang.
However, the Beast Tide was just two days away. Xu Hang could not afford to lose too much time. He still needed to go back and build his defenses.
For the time being, he really did not have time to help the Elven Queen find her pendant.
Nonetheless, his outing mission this time could be considered a success. With the mineral veins, Xu Hang could produce an endless stream of alloys.
Since there was nothing else, Xu Hang began his journey back to his castle.
Night fell.
On the horizon in the distance, a square-shaped shadow could be seen.
When Xu Hang got closer to it, he saw that the shadow belonged to his castle!
The city walls were more than thirty feet tall, emitting a heavy and unsophisticated aura. Outside the walls was a moat. Xu Hang wanted to continue developing and expanding his territory, so he did not really bother with the moat. The city walls were illuminated by the torches.
"This is too cool!"
Xu Hang could not help but pat himself on the back.
As he was about to enter this castle, the sound of metal chains being pulled could be heard.
A drawbridge was slowly lowered. It was placed horizontally on the moat.
Xu Hang drove across the bridge and looked at the surface of the water.
Under the moonlight, the water was sparkling. It looked quite charming.
The stars in the sky were reflected in the water. It was as if there were stars in the water.
"Wait, the surface of the water is wavy and uneven. How can the stars be reflected so clearly?"
Xu Hang stopped the car to get a better look.
There were actually bamboo tips and stone knives buried under the water!
Good heavens, whichever beast that fell into the moat would surely suffer a lot!
Xu Hang reached out his hand to touch it.
"Hmm, they're very stable. They won't be destroyed just because of one or two magical beasts."
After entering the castle, Xu Hang looked for Shadow.
"Who made the traps under the moat?"
"Master, it was him."
Shadow pointed to a farmer.
"I made the traps since I have some previous experience. It's a good addition to strengthen our defense."
"Not bad. I'll call you Charlie from now on."
Xu Hang gave another farmer a name.
"Thank you, Master, for giving me a name!"
Xu Hang muttered to himself as he walked into the bedroom, "They learn so quickly. It's amazing!"
Based on his estimation, the mineral veins should be able to provide resources by tomorrow morning.
It had been a long day and he instantly fell asleep.
Early the next morning, Xu Hang got up and began to work.
First, he assigned half of his manpower to begin producing alloys.
Then, he used those alloys to build his defense.
The critical parts of the catapults were all covered with alloy sheets.
Some buildings, such as the farmhouse and warehouses, were also reinforced with alloys.
It was already noon by the time Xu Hang had completed his tasks.
After a simple meal, he did not seem to have anything else to do.
So, he wandered around the place and walked to the catapults.
The catapults were equipped with huge boulders and the damage caused would indeed be great.
However, the boulders would definitely break into pieces once they hit the ground.
If Xu Hang wanted to use the catapults again, he would need to replenish the boulders.
What if he covered the boulders with a layer of alloy?
The weight of the boulders would increase and their power would be even greater.
Additionally, the layer of alloy would act as a protective coating.
Once the battle was over, the boulders could be reused!
'I'm a genius!'
Thus, Xu Hang instructed his farmers to pour buckets of melted alloys onto the boulders.
After sprinkling them with some water, the solidified alloy boulders were ready.
The boulders' weight increased by about 1.3 times more.
On the other hand, the range they could travel would be shortened.
To Xu Hang, the range was not important at all.
After all, his strongest assets, the farmers, all used close combat.
Moreover, if he killed the magical beasts from far away, he would have a hard time collecting the loot. It would be better to just kill them at his doorstep.
If the other Lords saw how prepared Xu Hang was, they no doubt cursed him.
Most of them were still trying to figure out how to survive the Beast Tide, while Xu Hang was already thinking about hunting more magical beasts.
It was an infuriating comparison.
Xu Hang had also made himself an "Alloy Soft Armor". Initially, he was thinking of donning a gold armor. However, he realized that it would make him stand out and be targeted.
He did not want to get injured for no reason. So, he decided to have the same armor as the rest of his army.
Xu Hang's troops and buildings were all basically protected by alloy. His castle and territory resembled a steel city.
Another day was coming to an end.
It was a clear night.
Xu Hang went to the balcony while holding a microphone in his hand.
"Ahem. Tomorrow is the day of the Beast Tide! However, do we have a reason to fear them?"
"No!"
All of his troops answered in unison.
"Not only are we going to kill them, but what else are we going to do?"
"Hunt and obtain resources!"
"The warriors of our castle are the strongest! We're Invincible!"
"Invincible!"
"Strongest!"
Their loud voices could clearly be heard!
Everyone was in high spirits!
Xu Hang used all his strength and shouted, "Victory will be ours!"
Then, everyone was treated to some barbecue.
Shadow sharpened the ice blade and alloy battle axe that Xu Hang had given to him. He murmured, "Tomorrow, I must be successful!"
Xu Hang's city was made of steel while the heart of his army was even stronger than steel!
