Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 - I'll Give You a Hand

Before I started speaking with Migi I finished up my food, all the while Migi seemed to move his eyes across the room, occasionally moving closer to a piece of food to examine it. He didn't talk much and after finishing up my food I leaned back into my seat, and let out a contented sigh.

"So," I said, turning my attention to Migi. "I have to ask, can you fuse yourself with my heart. I have an... odd ceremony to attend at midnight and I'm going to need all the stamina and endurance I can get. I'm going to test out Zombieman's attack force to see if his regeneration works for stamina and endurance and if it does then this won't matter, well not for this at least, but I'm thinking we should still do it since it would give me more benefits."

"It is possible though I ask that you wait until I am a higher level," Migi said. "Currently most of my cells are spread around your body, and in my normal state I would be unable to communicate or even sense them, but with the level increase that has changed. The cells can now respond to me, though not at an efficient level, but that will change if my level increases further. I ask that you wait until I am able to fully control all parts of myself within your body even if they are not attached to me. I can fuse now, but that would cause me to have to sleep for more than four hours a day since I've already given pieces of myself to parts of your body."

I nodded, disappointed but understanding his reason. Migi was smart and if he thought it was a good idea to wait until he was a higher level then I would wait, though I prayed Zombiemans regeneration worked for stamina and endurance, or else I was screwed.

"Migi what do you think is our next goal after stabilizing and improving the kingdom?" I asked, wanting to get his opinion on things.

"Well that depends on a number of factors," Migi replied. "Do you plan of increasing your influence and land?"

"Yes," I said. "I plan on making a big impact on this world."

"Well then," Migi said. "This kingdom shall be the test and first stepping stone. Use this kingdom to see how your supposed laws and rules will affect the people and how effectively they will work. Remember this world isn't earth and certain things and views will be entirely different. If you wish to change them it will take more than just a change of laws or rules. You will have to change the way people see things, lead by example. It will be a difficult road, but you grow stronger every day and your tools grow more varied. Take Danzo for example, although I am not sure of his skillset, from the way you spoke to him, it seems he is some sort of spy of intelligence gather."

I nodded, thinking on Migi words. Once again Migi had summed up everything in a way that made it easy to understand. He was right in the fact that I would have to take certain approaches to make sure this kingdom improved in the way I wanted, and make sure that the values I wanted, stayed, and those I didn't, gotten rid of. It would be difficult and there would undoubtedly be bloodshed and those that pushed back, but I'd get through it. Despite not ever having accomplished much back on earth, I was the type that didn't back down or simply give up when I set my mind to something.

"Things may seem overwhelming now," Migi said. "But think of this. Even if you just went about fighting, increasing your level, and summoning, eventually you'd reach a level of power that would dwarf any on this world, but it is clear you won't as you have chosen to be a leader."

"Indeed," I said, remembering the words I told myself. I had chosen to be king and I would be one. I would grow this kingdom and set off in search of new lands, and if it came to be, then I would take them, change them, and grow what would undoubtedly be an empire. Was I thinking too far ahead? Probably, but what Migi said was true, I was going to get stronger and stronger. I mean I had Esdeath who could freeze an entire god damned continent and Danzo who was an extremely dangerous man with a large number of tools and power at his disposal. His seals alone made him extremely useful. Seal that I was planning to put to use in a number of ways, though I'd let Danzo figure out the details. Eventually, things were going to reach a point where I would need to hand out positions to my summons because my group was going to keep growing.

Maybe some unique chain of command, I thought, definitely something to figure out later. I had two days and then the announcement and after that, things would begin in earnest. The changes, the level grinding, cleaning up the kingdom, and more. It was going to be busy after the announcement, though with the summons I'd get through it.

"I should enjoy myself tonight," I muttered before turning my attention back to Migi.

"Once again, Migi you've helped tremendously," I said in an earnest tone. "Thank you, friend."

Migi turned his eyes to me and slowly a small hand appeared to give me a thumbs up. "you are welcome... friend."

His voice was still emotionless as always, but hesitant as if he wasn't sure of what he'd said, which was unusual for Migi, though I was glad to see he was trying.

I smiled and stood up, Migi returning his form to my normal right hand. Now I just needed to test Zombiemans regeneration on stamina and endurance then take a quick nap before midnight.
