"Asara get your riders back!" I shouted to her. "I'll handle this!"
She flew closer to me and nodded, not objecting in the least, which wasn't a surprise. She had seen my display at the fort and knew the power I could command. In her eyes and in mine, the battle was already won. With Oars, Twice, my other summons and not to mention the four summoning tokens I had. Well, it was safe to say I'd won, though life could throw a curveball at me.
Asara's lieutenants who had overheard my words looked visibly confused though a single shouted command from Asara sent then following the rest of the riders back to hover above the birdcage. It seemed that they wanted to see what would happen or Asara wanted to show them how strong I was. Either way, it didn't matter to me, I had an army to destroy.
I sent a command to Rath to fly closer to the army and sent Zombieman to storage. I imagined by now that Richard and Susana were done with Lillian, and if they weren't then my orders for Richard would have gotten them out of there. I really hope I get a skill that allows my summons to communicate back to me, I thought, I don't think Zombieman knows his way around the palace.
I used attack force, taking Zombiemans powers. That alongside my defense force which allowed me to gain the defense of a single summon, which in this case was Rathalos. With his defense and Zombiemans regeneration, there would be no chance of me dying, not to mention the fact that my summons would not allow any enemy close to me.
As I flew closer to the approaching army, I got a better look at the flying creatures in the sky. They looked like a mix between an ape and a bat. They were thick and flew at a far slower speed than Rath or a silverhawk, but were larger than a sivlerhawk and looked to have greater strength. A few spotted us and began to fly closer, which prompted me to summon Blair who appeared beside me.
"Seems you're in need of a hand, master," She purred, immediately spotting the approaching beasts. "Bad monkeys."
She raised a hand and a trio of flaming pumpkins appeared in the air next to her. They shot forward at a surprisingly fast speed and each hit one of the beasts, setting off an explosion. To my surprise they didn't die, though their bodies looked mangled and their wings were destroyed sending them all screaming and tumbling to the ground, impacting it with a splat.
"What's the plan, master?" Blair asked, sending pumpkins at any flying beast who dared to approach us.
"Plan? We don't need a plan," I replied. "Well ok, I do sort of have a plan. Destroy them and capture Biroth if we can."
"That's it? Just me, you and Raths"
"Definitely not," I replied. "Blair, I'm gonna need you to open up a space for us in the middle of that army, I'm gonna summon everyone and use my summoning tokens."
I'd been holding back on using my tokens and when I thought about it there really wasn't any need to. Sure, keeping one just in case was fine, but four? No, I should have used them when I first got them since who knows what I could have summoned and what help they could have provided me. The only tokens I should be saving are situation tokens and special request tokens, the others I should have already used.
"Blair, did you hear what I said?" I asked.
Blair didn't respond for a long time and I glanced back to see her grinning.
"This is gonna fun," She laughed, summoning a dozen pumpkins as the first bolts of magic and arrows flew at us. She laughed wildly as her pumpkins hit the army, and the moment one had impacted another appeared. Pumpkin after pumpkin hit the army sending men and women flying everywhere.
Though it shouldn't have been too surprising, the army below still managed to maintain some semblance of order, and slowly but surely magical and kor defense were going up, though they weren't doing that much in terms of defense since Blair just changed where the pumpkins were hitting and at the rate she fired, they were still losing dozens of soldiers with each blast, though some pumpkins were also shot out fo the sky, exploding in mid-air.
There were a few flying best trying to close in on us and some of them actually had riders, but Rath's quick movements and fireballs keep them at bay alongside Blair's pumpkins. I knew Blair was strong, but not this strong, then again she'd never really got much limelight in either the anime or manga of soul eater, she was more of a fanservice character. That thought led to a question to ask Eden later. Was this Blair from the anime or manga? Or a mix?
I shook the thought away as I ducked a magic projectile that had been coming at my face. A few bolts of magic and arrows did hit us, but with Rath being a higher level and the explosions happening around them we weren't damaged much and eventually, Blair started hitting a single spot and after a dozen pumpkins an empty space full of dead and broken bodes had opened up.
I took the chance and sent a command for Rath to land. A bolt of magic hit me but I brushed it off, not even really feeling it as Rath hit the ground. I jumped off his back and Blair summoned a large pumpkin for her to float on beside me. The soldiers around us leveled their weapons at me and I raised my hands, a feral grin on my face.
"If you all kneel and kiss the ground while begging for forgiveness, I'll spare your lives," I shouted, giving them one last chance, which I didn't think they were going to take. They all stared worriedly at Rath and lustfully at Blair before the first chuckles started up, quickly turning into laughter.
I shook my head. "I gave you a chance, remember that."
I summoned everyone and used every token I had.
"Let's see who gets the last laugh."
