Three days. It had been three days since Altren has seen Zhu Kang. It was as if he disappeared.
He was not in his college dorm, he had not been attending his classes and his roommates had no clue where he was. His phone was not reachable, partly his fault because he smashed Kang's; phone in anger that day.
Altren tried his brother's house, but even there he found no traces. Like a stalker, he stayed out in the streets watching and waiting to find any traces of Zhu Kang.
None was found.
The worry in his heart became more intense. He knew that he had to see his uncle to get help.
Since si uncle suggested sending him off to mighty light school he had been hiding away in his college, refusing to go home. But now he had no other option but to.
Driving up to the huge secluded villa he parked his car right outside, making it easy for him to escape.
Slowly he crept inside the house. it was usually silent. It was Tuesday morning his uncle would usually have his meal listening to classic Beethoven. Personally, he felt like that was a boring music choice.
Altren moved to the room. a small zipper sound was heard in his uncle's bedroom.
"You decided to come home,"
"Yes.... not because I want to. I need to find someone. He is my friend. I didn't see him at school for a few days. I'm worried,"
"If you are talking about Zhu Kang he is hospitalized," Aaron whispered, pulling a duffel bag over his shoulders.
"What? Hospitalized?! How?" he froze by the doorway, watching his uncle walk past him. He grabbed a hold of his arm tightly. "What happened to him? did... did he break his leg? That stupid guy, he should have waited for me to come and get him. Why did he just jump?"
Aaron pulled away with a growl. "Shut the hell up. Kang was in danger because you did not do your job properly."
"What...." like a lost puppy Altren followed behind him hoping that his uncle will turn around and say that it was all a prank.
"You are lying, right?"
Aaron just glared back at him whilst getting in his car. "Get in," he threw open the passenger door.
Dazedly, Altren got in and strapped himself up.
His uncle drove them over to the city hospital and got down with the bag in hand.
The whole way to the room he was not able to think... he felt numb....
*****
Zhu Kang sat up in his bed combing through his hair. The huge bandage made it almost impossible to get the tangles and dirt out of his hair.
"When will they bring the food...oh I forgot.. I am supposed to be in a coma." He sighed loudly. That Aaron guy sounded so crazy. He feared he might do something to him.
But there is also a small thing, this was a hospital. The doctors must have taken blood samples and stuff. There is a chance that they might have found out that he was different from normal.
If in case Aaron or Altren found out that he is one of the Gemini twins, he will be in great danger.
Altren of course will fry him like a deep-fried chicken. Aaron will boil him like hot lava.
'Both paths will result in death. I don't prefer to die. So let's just bear with the hunger and act like a comatose person for a day.'
He peered at the windows. It was a fancy glass type with no protective railing or such. The view was also from a low angle. He was most likely on the second floor or something.
'I can jump out when no one expects it....'
Escaping was the only option.
His stomach growled loudly. "Ugh.. but I'm so hungry..." he hugged his tummy, whining softly.
Suddenly his ears picked up the subtle sound of footsteps coming his way.
"Shit it's the doctors,"
He laid back down pretending to be in a deep sleep.
The doors opened and hesitantly footsteps walked close. Someone place something heavy onto the waiting bed next to him.
"k-Kang... what... what happened to him?" a small voice whispered.
Kang knew who that annoying voice belonged to instantly. It was Altren.
"How did this happen? Aaron!"
"He got hurt because you didn't check the bar properly that day. There was another person inside.... he ran in to save him. The blast took him out. His head was badly injured... Altren, this is what happened when you don't use your powers responsibly.... if only you had checked the premise your friend would not have gotten hurt."
Kang felt slightly guilty about Altren getting scolded. Because that place where Jason hid was hidden behind the kitchen shelves. No one uses that store room but that guy always creeps in there and smokes.
Not even the chef knows about this.
'How can Altren know to check there….'
The bed dipped a bit. "It was my fault. I left him there on the rooftop..." a trembling finger touched his hands.
Kang mentally rolled his eyes. 'I'm not dead people please let's not make it sound super tragic.'
A small drop of tears dripped down onto his face. Kang almost flinched.
'Is this guy crying? Are you kidding me? Don't you hate me, buddy, why would you cry for someone you hate?'
"It's all my fault...." he gently kissed his forehead.
Kang almost sat up and slapped his face. But knowing that Aaron was in the room he controlled himself.
"I'll go.... I'll go to mighty lights...."
Kang let out a sigh of relief. 'Oh thank god, no more Altren chasing after me. This head injury is also a good thing..'
While he was cheerfully happy on the inside, his body decided to betray him.
His stomach growled loudly...
Loud enough to silenced both the heroes
'Fuck! Fuck you, stomach! You could have held on for just a few minutes...'
"Uncle... is he awake... why is his stomach...." Altren worriedly touched his cheeks. "his cheeks are hot. Something is wrong!"
"I'll call the doctors! Those fucked up men don't know what the hell they are doing!!!" Aarons shouted smashing the spare bed.
Kang froze in shock. 'Okay both of you, calm down. I am just hungry.. Don't call the doctors.. hey...'
A fleet of twenty doctors ran to his room in minutes, checking his vitals and putting a torch to his eyes.
Zhu Kang knew...
It was time to wake up. 'But it's fucking embarrassing. What to do! What I know what to do!'
He slowly blinked...
"Kang!" Altren and Aaron sat next to him. "Does your stomach hurt? It's giving a sound.."
"Who.... who are you both?"
