"I don't know the reason for keeping his identity secret, but I know Daniel's mother," Rudi replied proudly.
"How do you know who Daniel's mother is?" Laura asked curiously. Rudi froze for a few moments and remembered that the topic of Claudia was sometimes a source of contention between him and Laura.
"Yes, let's just say that I know her from Herman's connection," Rudi replied briefly. He didn't want to start a new problem by saying that Daniel's mother was her ex-wife's friend.
Laura looked at Rudi suspiciously but she quickly dismissed such thoughts when she got nothing from Rudi's expression. She sighed. She couldn't continue to feel suspicious of her husband. Even though she was a little traumatized by what happened in the past she didn't want to continue to be prejudiced against Rudi. She gave him a second chance and the man came back into her life. All this time her husband had never let her down and gave her what she wanted.
