THE VALUE OF SUFFERING

Bible Passage: Deuteronomy 8:3

"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."

If many people have the right understanding of the value of suffering plays in the Christian walk, then perhaps many will seek after it even when it is not coming their way. Sadly, there is something in us as a humans that abhors and loathes any form of suffering.

But suffering can actually be an invaluable experience you should not turn away from.

Suffering is an avenue that God uses to prepare for those he has great plans, so that when they get to the positions of destiny the world will understand and appreciate the glory and praise of his name

Psalm 9:13-14

"Be gracious to me, O Lord! See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation."

We see examples of this in the life of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Daniel, Joseph etc.

Joseph understood the purpose for all his suffering in the end and told his brethren it was because God wanted him to go ahead and preserve lives.

Genesis 45:5

"And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life."

Sometimes the suffering you are experiencing has a far reaching purpose you may not see now. However, keep your faith in God unshaken through it all. In time, the purpose will manifest. That's why you are enjoined to cast your burden on him. By doing so, God will sustain you and bring those who seek your downfall down

Psalm 55:22-23

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you."

The Lord will not take away his kindness from you even in your suffering and he will continue to be faithful to all he has promised you

Psalm 89:33-34

"but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips."

Our bible passage shows a further value of suffering. It allows you to learn that God is able to keep you no matter what you face or what you come against (Deuteronomy 8:3 KJV). It also helps you to learn to rely on God more.

Dear beloved now that you know some of the values of suffering, look out for what God wants you to know when you pass through that season of suffering. God will see you through and help you to sustain with faith to receive the abundant blessings of everything in yourย  life in Jesus mighty name..Amen.
