I wake up feeling a bright light over my eyes. Not blinking I just stare at the light. Staring, as my mind wonders about the light and how it feels to surround my being. Feeling lonely empty but at the same time full and content. It feels new but old as well, like I've experienced it a thousand times but still fall under its emotions. As the pressure of the light on my eyes lessen I take a couple of blinks, then suddenly the light all around me fades out. Revealing I am laying on concrete, seemingly, facing a light source beaming in my face. I blink a couple more times then sit up noticing the light source is just a flashlight. Reaching for the flashlight, suddenly there is a strong breeze slapping a peace of paper into my face. Startled by the sudden loss of vision I quickly pulled the paper off. Glaring at the paper I see it is blank and dirty. Continuing to glare at it the paper suddenly ,somehow, flies away by another strong breeze even though I was holding it firmly with both hands. Not thinking much about it I put my attention back to the flashlight which has rolled a few feet away from me. Standing up I go over to the flashlight and pick it up which is now flickering on and off. So I give it a few shakes and it fixes itself. Now that I stop bothering with superficial stuff I focus on my surrounding.
I seem to in a box made of three grayish looking walls and a black wall. The three walls don't have anything special at a glance but the black wall has yellow designs on it and a two benches.
Looks like some sort of transportation service, maybe.
On a closer inspection, with the my flashlight, there is a pretty weird phenomenon going on with the three walls, where a thick fog like substance is preventing me from seeing beyond it. As I go closer to touch the fog I notice something even stranger. The fog or something like it is very eerie for it does not allow me to come within a foot of it. Even though I passed that foot threshold my arm turns fully white but with h a mix of gray and dark matter. Not only that the eerie fog moves, sway almost; dancing like static, slow and discerning but fast and random. Seeing those mixing colors brought me dread and anxiousness. And even worse my flashlight is flickering on and off making it hard to see.
Without taking another centimeter forward I backed away from the fog. Immediately my flashlight stops flickering then I notice my arm went cold, hot then fuzzy as the strange markings disappear all within five seconds, barely catching a glimpse of the markings even being there. It was not a comfortable feeling. Taking this unpleasant experience as a warning not to interact with the fog.
As I stand away from the fog rubbing my previously (foggy?) arm I suddenly hear a loud noise behind me. Jumping in fright I swiftly turned around waving the flashlight frantically to pin point where the noise originated from. The only thing I found out of place is a backpack sitting on the bench.
Confused, knowing there wasn't anything on the bench earlier, I walk up to it cautiously. Still frightened I waving my flashlight around to see if I can find any traces of what placed the bag. Not seeing anything I return my attention to the bag.
So damn tensed about the situation got my head racing about what could be in the bag. Maybe a letter or a video to explain the situation with some food to help take it in. Probably a gun with bullets to help with what's to come. Hell what if it's a just a decapitated head that'll roll out of it. Fuck, now I'm freaking myself out.
Now a few feet away from the bag I hesitate to approach from my own fears of what could be in the bag. Standing still for some minutes I finally steel myself to open the backpack.
The first things I see are two weird dark oval like shapes small enough to barely my fit in my hand. With a closer look the ovals seem to have a design that I have never seen before. Turning the ovals around my hand I find they have a smooth side while the other side ls rough and bumpy. I also felt a latch on one of them, which I open to find earphones. The other one doesn't seem to have a latch, maybe it's on the inside. I struggle for awhile until finally it opens at the brink of me giving up.
Inside, I find an iPod but it doesn't have the usual logo or none at that matter. I turn it on only to be blinded from the brightness. Flinching and covering my eyes away. I try to get a peak at the iPod so I can adjust my eyes to the brightness but weirdly enough the iPod isn't as bright anymore. Which I find confusing for I don't remember iPods' having such features.
Shrugging it off I look at the screen seeing four words; music, playlist, games, and about.
I select music first and see a blank song that is 26 seconds. I plug in the he earpiece and hit play.
It's silence except for the mumbling static but eventually I hear, " Look back" then the video ends.
My heartbeat skyrockets. This audio, was it meant for me, made to me? If so why doesn't it tell me more? My throat starts to dry. Am I being pranked? A headache starts to occur. Who could- wait, who was I before this? I don't know anything besides- "A chill crawls up your back".
I immediately turn around with my flashlight nearly dropping it out of fright when I see a figure rush into a door.
What the hell was that? Did that door just- was that door always there? Ugh, suddenly my head is killing me. I stay looking at the door feeling chills up my back. Am I going insane, delusional? There's no way that door or thing was here before; I checked this entire area. What am going to do now?
