[Chapter 9 Recap- "I met Amanda downstairs. She said you were attending someone public personality. Who is it?" Jaden asked.
"Rose this is really heavy to shift alone. I need your help" said Aydrien while attempting to move the sofa.
On hearing his voice Jaden murmured "Is that Aydrien...Aydrien Swift"]
"Do you know him?" asked Rose.
Jaden ignored her question and without even looking at Rose he walked straight into the house to confirm if it was him.
"Hey, is that you Aydrien?" he asked eagerly standing behind him. Aydrien turned around to see who it was.
"Hi" Aydrien said with a dry laugh.
"Do you guys know each other?" asked Rose in a doubtful voice.
Jaden stepped closer and hugged Aydrien.
"Okay never mind" said Rose looking away.
Aydrien was trying to figure out why was Jaden acting so friendly while being caged in his suffocating hug.
Jaden finally freed him from the hug and said "Good to see you man".
'Wish I could say the same' thought Aydrien.
"Good to see you? He is a patient" Rose commented sarcastically.
"I completely forgot ask why are you here? What happened?" asked Jaden in a worried voice.
"Umm I actually..."
"Sorry but he won't answer this question" Rose cut Aydrien's words.
"Why?" asked Jaden.
"Because he is not allowed to talk about it"
"Are you his lawyer?"
"I am just following the instructions which I have been given and doing my job"
"Okay" sighed Jaden.
Aydrien pointing at the sofa said "Jaden this furniture is tough to shift alone. Could you please help?".
"Yeah sure". Both the men lifted the furniture and and shifted it.
Taking a deep breath Jaden said "Done"
"Thanks" said Aydrien.
"Aydrien if you wouldn't mind, can I talk to Rose for a second?"
"Yeah"
Jaden signaled Rose and they walked out of the house.
"Wasn't I friendly with your patient"
"What do you mean by friendly? Isn't he your friend?"
"Friend? We are not even close. It is just our fathers had signed many deals together so, during the success parties we met each other. That is it"
"The way you hugged him I thought he was you long-lost friend"
"I did that for you to realize that I can be a caring husband".
Rose's expression dropped. "You were pretending all this while? And What makes you think hugging my patient would make you a good husband in my eyes" asked Rose in a disappointed voice.
"I..I just wanted to prove myself"
"By pretending?"
"I am sorry"
"No..no you didn't get my point. I want to love you just the way you are because you can pretend for a while but not forever, and when I get to know who you are in real maybe my feelings would change"
"So, you want to love me huh" murmured Jaden with a shy smile.
"Of course"
On hearing her words Jaden instantly wrapped his big arms around her. This made Rose blush.
"Last night I could not hug you back. I don't want to miss this chance"
"Jaden" she whispered.
"Shhh"
"Jaden" this time she took his name a bit louder.
Jaden placed his hand on her shoulders and asked "Which part of me shushing you, you don't get?"
"These are my working hours Jaden. We shouldn't be meeting each other now"
"I love how professional you and Ms. White are. As much as I love you I respect you too. So I will be leaving now and if you need any kind of help, do call me and while heading back to home just send a text informing me that you have left "
"Okay" replied Rose. Jaden left the building and Rose went inside the house.
"Who is he?" asked Aydrien eagerly.
"Jaden Matthew" she said with a serious face.
"You know exactly what I am asking about. Who is he to you? I mean what relation do you share with him?"
"He is the owner of the hospital where I work. So he technically is my boss"
"And I am a clown" he said sarcastically
"You are actually"deadpanned Rose .
"Okay if you don't want to share then I am fine with it" he said in a self assuring manner. Rose sighed and started arranging the cushions to avoid the awkward silence.
"Are you hungry?" asked Aydrien.
"Nope"
"Okay then I'm gonna cook something for myself" he said and headed towards the kitchen.
"Wait you do not have the access to the kitchen yet" stopped Rose.
"Why?"
"There are some sharp cutleries in the kitchen and I guess it explains why I am stopping you"
"Of course stabbing myself in front of you while cooking is my hobby" Aydrien commented.
"Well rules are rules and I can't take risk Mr.Swift" teasingly said Rose.
"But I am hungry"
"Okay,then I can cook something for you"
"Your cooking sucks" Aydrien confessed without any hesitation.
"Well of course with time my skills have improved" gave out Rose.
"In that case prepare something simple which doesn't showcase your so called 'skills' "
"Will a sandwich do?" asked Rose.
"Yeah" replied Aydrien without passing anymore comments.
"Okay" she sighed and walked towards the kitchen while Aydrien waited at the dining table. Rose grabbed two slices of bread and spread butter on of them. She layered it with lettuce, added some sliced red onions and topped the veggie layer with two slices of tomato. After adding a cheese slice she finally added the other bread slice and then served Aydrien the sandwich on a plate.
"Here you go" she said as she placed the plate on the table.
"Thank you" said Aydrien and lifted the sandwich for a bite. As he chewed the corner of the sandwich Rose eagerly asked "Does it taste good?"
Aydrien instead of replying her spit the food out of his mouth.
[Chap 11 preview - When Rose was drying her hands Aydrien with a serious face asked "Don't you think we should talk about our past and end this awkwardness?"
"No I don't" answered Rose looking down and pretending to be busy drying her hands.
"Why?" asked Aydrien in curious voice.
She did not respond to this question of his and continued pretending to dry her hands. "I need an answer" he snatched the towel from her, looked into her eyes.....]
