"Naruto's List"
A four-cornered room welcomed the heroes of the world. They saved humanity by stopping the moon from falling into the Earth. Those heroes were Naruto Uzumaki who was also the previous war hero, Shikamaru Nara, Sai, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyuga who had played a vital role in destroying the Tenseigan through the power of Hamura Otsutsuki whom she had acquired from.
The chair turned facing them revealing the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake who gave them his sincerest smile and gratitude. Putting both his hands under his chin, congratulated them for a job well done.
"The world was saved. Thanks to you all." Kakashi said. They gave him a smile.
"By the way Shikamaru, I want the reports as soon as possible and by tomorrow you five can enjoy your day off." He added.
Naruto tilted his head in confusion. He seemed so bothered. Kakashi noticed his sudden expression.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage." They bowed their heads as a sign of respect for the leader of the village.
"You four can go now. Naruto, I have something to ask you." Kakashi muttered. All of them gazed at Naruto.
"Wha-aat?" He asked awkwardly and rubbed the back of his head.
Kakashi laughed at them.
"It's nothing serious. You can go now." Kakashi cleared their doubts.
The four of them left the Office.
"Uhm. What is it Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto asked.
Kakashi stared at him for seconds before he spoke to him.
"You looked so bothered Naruto. What's wrong?" Kakashi asked him directly.
Naruto looked at him in confusion.
"What do you mean? I am fine 'ttebayo!" He replied.
Kakashi remained silent still gazing at him. Naruto felt uneasy with Kakashi's stares.
"I just wondering what to do tomorrow since it's my day off.. he-he-he." He replied rubbing the back of his head.
"Well, you can sleep all day if you want. You can train if you want to. You can also eat ramen all day or you can go out with a girl and get her a bite to ea---" and Naruto interrupted him. He shouted awkwardly while blushing so bad. Kakashi got confused about his actions.
"Naruto, you are acting strange," Kakashi muttered.
"Di--d I?" He asked awkwardly.
Kakashi stared at him again without saying anything. Naruto was avoiding Kakashi's stares, he was switching his vision from left to right.
"I was thinking of asking Hinata out tomorrow but, I don't know how..." he revealed.
Kakashi was a bit surprised.
"I see. So, you have a thing for Hinata. Hmm... if that is the case. The only thing I can help you with is..." Kakashi said.
He opened his drawer and picked something inside it. Naruto stepped back seemed so scared after seeing what Kakashi had in his drawer.
He was offering him a book...
"Ka-Kakashi-sensei, are you serious? That is..."
"That is Pervy Sage's book!" He screamed.
Kakashi smiled at him while Naruto was feeling sick.
"Naruto, this book is the only key to your problems. Why not try it?" Kakashi said while smiling at him.
Naruto was feeling sick with Kakashi's suggestion while Kakashi was feeling proud of the suggestion he was making.
"Come on, take it Naruto. I am sure it will work on you and Hinata." Kakashi insisted.
Kakashi put the book inside his bag and pushing him out of the Hokage's Office. Naruto was trying to stop him but Kakashi was way too motivated to help him through his most favorite book. Kakashi immediately locked the door when he was out.
"Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto shouted but he got no response.
Damn it!
He thought.
Naruto scratched his head.
"I am really bad at girls." He said. He stood up and started walking his way out of the Hokage's building.
What to do? What to do?
He kept thinking.
He paused for a moment, grabbed his head, and shouted.
"Damn it! I don't know what to do!" Some men and women looked at him so shocked.
Naruto came back to his senses and realized that people around him were staring at him suspiciously.
You are an idiot! He thought.
He was heading his way home carrying a cup of instant ramen for dinner.
He sat on his bed with a cup of instant ramen in his hands, he started eating. He could not still think of how to ask Hinata out.
I used to goof around with Sakura asking her out. I didn't find it hard to do it with her but, with Hinata. I don't know what to do...
He thought and sipped all the remaining broths from his cup of ramen and threw it away.
He was out of ideas and saw his bag. He suddenly remembered Kakashi putting the book inside his bag. He grabbed it and desperately picked the book. He was hesitant at first but ended up opening it. He gulped before reading what was written in it.
***
Uwaaaah!
Naruto woke up with his things scattered on the floor. The book he was reading last night was one of them.
He stood up from his bed and walked his way to the bathroom.
He fixed himself and wore his casual clothes. He was walking down the village streets when he bumped into Sai who was having some fun time reading a book. Naruto approached him.
"Yo Sai!" He greeted him.
"It's you Naruto!" Sai replied.
"You must be enjoying your day off reading books, huh?" Naruto muttered.
"Hmm. Kind of." Sai replied.
"What that book is all about though?" He asked.
"Uh. This? I am currently in a chapter on how to handle a date with a girl." Sai replied without any signs of hesitation.
Naruto was shocked after hearing what Sai just said. He gave him an awkward face.
"What's wrong?" Sai innocently asked.
"Ah-um. Nothing really. He-he-he" he replied.
"You were acting strange when I mentioned the chapter I was reading. Maybe because you wanted to ask Hinata on a date?" Sai said frankly.
Naruto dropped his jaw after hearing Sai's statement. He didn't expect Sai to frankly slap him with his words.
"You could really read what's on people's minds, don't you?" Naruto said with a weird face.
"It was just a guess," Sai replied and gave Naruto a smile.
"So, what's written in that book? Kakashi-sensei lent me Pervy Sage's book but I don't understand what's written in it." Naruto said while scratching the back of his head.
"Hmm... let's see..." Sai muttered.
Sai flipped the pages and slowly read the details using his eyes.
"Steps on how to get a successful romantic date..." Sai read the contents.
Naruto was seriously paying attention to what he was saying.
"Number one: When you are going to ask a woman out, you must show her that you have good intentions. Sincerity is very important. Number two: When you successfully make her say yes to you, make sure that you will give her a walk and most importantly you initiate small talks so she won't get bored. Number three: bring her to a fancy restaurant for a bite. Girls usually love to see fancy things." Sai was reading the contents of the book. Naruto kept on listening to him.
"Number four: bring her to your favorite place, a place that means a lot to you that you could tell her good stories about it, or bring her to her favorite place or memorable place for the both of you. Girls like romantic places to be exact. Number five: girls like presents especially on special occasions. Number six: Girls like shopping. Number seven: girls like going to cinemas. Number eig---" Naruto interrupted Sai and pouted.
"Hmmm... I have heard enough." He declared.
"So you don't want me to continue anymore? Sai asked in confusion. Naruto nodded as a response.
"I think I know what to do now," Naruto said clenching his fist feeling so motivated.
He stood up and waved goodbye to Sai. He was heading to the Hyuga Clan's premises. He looked so motivated and prepared. Sai's book helped him a lot. He thought.
He was about to enter the Clan's gate when someone spoke behind his back. He stumbled and fell to the ground.
"What brought you here, Naruto-niisan?" Hanabi asked him.
"Yo, Hanabi!" He stood up and greeted her.
"Uh. Hmm.." Naruto muttered while avoiding Hanabi's eyes.
"Looking for onee-chan?" She asked.
"Uh hmm. Ye-Yeah!" He replied awkwardly.
"She went out to buy something." Her quick reply.
"Oh, I see. I think I'll co--" she interrupted him and spoke.
"Father Hiashi is inside. Maybe you two can have some small talks while you are waiting for my sister..." she added.
"Wha-Wha-What?" Naruto shouted. Hanabi smiled at him.
Naruto knew that Hiashi was a lot different from his teachers like Jiraiya, Kakashi, or Iruka. He thought he could never handle meeting or talking to him at the moment.
"Aha-ha-- Maybe Mr. Hiashi is busy right now maybe next time. I'll be back later..." Naruto said while scratching the back of his head. He was about to leave Hanabi when someone called out for him.
"Naruto-kun?"
He turned and saw Hinata carrying a bag.
"Yo Hinata!" He was about to run to her but he remembered that he was there to ask her out. He paused and unconsciously blushed.
Hinata approached him and stood up in front of him as if to say, what's wrong? He looked away so he would not meet her eyes. They kept silent for a moment.
"Got to go. This conversation must be exclusive only for lovers." Hanabi said and left them.
"So glad to see you here, Naruto-kun. But, did something happen?" She asked him.
"No, no, nothing. I came here to...." he paused.
Hinata slightly tilted her head in confusion.
"You came here to?" Hinata repeated. Naruto was hesitant to ask her out. He was scratching his face with his index finger still not looking directly into her eyes.
"Uh.. hmm... I came here..." he cleared his throat and sighed.
"Ya know Hinata, I came here to ask you out. If you are free.." he said while scratching his head and giving her an awkward smile.
Hinata's expression changed. She was surprised and blushing. She then looked away. This was the first time Naruto asking her out. She couldn't find the words to say to him.
"Will you come with me?" Naruto asked her, this time he was sincerely asking her. Hinata looked at his eyes and her heart beats fast. Naruto patiently waiting for her answer.
Her lips slowly opened and she replied to him...
