Chereads / Firstborn Twisted Time / Chapter 26 - 26 Underneath

Chapter 26 - 26 Underneath

"Welcome back, Sir Ernesto," Lucas bluntly greeted him while his attention was on Fetahaya, who was wearing an old-fashioned maid's attire, which he couldn't help but ask, "Who might be this person?"

Lucas has been sticking with Ndulou since the moment Ernesto left them. He then heard Ernesto's voice inside his head that called him out to stealthily walk into the Barons' back door.

"While I am fetching you your vitamins, I picked up a stray maid." Ernesto talked like he had just picked up a random stray cat while having a walk.,"Anyway, did anything weird happen while I was away?" He opened his spatial magic and handed the kettle to Lucas while talking.

Lucas bowed down in response. His hands trembled as soon as the kettle was in his hands. He felt relief that he could finally consume the minerals that would sustain his life. Yet he replied to Ernesto professionally.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, sir."

"Good, prepare our carriage. Let us leave once Ndulou is done with his packing."

"Aren't we teleporting?"

"Do you think I have unlimited mana?"

Ernesto had used up his mana since he started using it at daybreak. He even fought a dragon.

"Yes?"

Ernesto turned his back after raising one of his eyebrows. He waved his hand and left Lucas, who was hugging his precious magma supply.

Of course, the dragon follows behind him.

"Is that the red-skinned earth spirit survivor? But he has a human body."

"That body is dead; he is just using it in disguise."

Ernesto and Fetahaya walked back into the main entrance of the baron's house. They can walk freely because the baron's house lacks security.

"Oh, he's weird too."

It caught the dragon's interest and added Lucas to her list of the main characters to watch for.

"Will he continue to stick around with you to have a su—wait, there's another monstrous being inside this house? You're quite surrounded by strong individuals, huh?" Fetahaya cuts her own statement after she felt the presence of a strong race.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

Ernesto titled his head because he had already scanned the area and detected no other suspicious beings. He had thoroughly checked everything, so he was sure that the baron's house was a safe place for Ndulou.

"Hmmn, why? Can't you feel it? I thought your detection skills were great. You still need to improve, kid."

Ernesto ignored the dragon's words, as he was confident of his own thorough surveillance, but instantly stopped as soon as Fetahaya mentioned the word "Wolf."

"What? What did you feel?"

"It's probably a wolf."

The dragon's eyes grew wide as Ernesto suddenly disappeared after she spoke about the wolf. "What's wrong with that kid?" Fetahaya looked up at the ceiling because he could feel Ernesto had hastily teleported to the upper floor of the house.

"He really looked scared."

Fetahaya thought that Ernesto was really a weird child and thought, "He's not scared of a dragon, but a wolf frightened him."

She scratched her bum from thinking about how strange Ernesto was. She leisurely roamed around the baron's house to find a new gem she could be interested in.

"Well, he really can't feel it. The wolf is not on the upper floors, but he is underground. Should I check?"

…..

…..

Moments before Fetahaya and Ernesto arrived at the Baron's house, Ndulou and his mother were having a peaceful tea time.

"Ndulou, is it okay for you to stay at the Marquis castle for such a long time? I can convince your father if you hate it." His mother watched him drink his tea with concern.

"Don't worry, mother. Young master Ernesto isn't as bad as the rumor suggests."

Nudlou thought of Ernesto as a poor child who lacked affection and was quite rude, but was still a good person. He might be annoyed at Ernesto, but he was aware of how much concern the child was giving him.

Nudlou looked at his beloved mother. He admired his mother for having eight children in a household that had nothing but title and land.

Nida Miyano is a refreshingly beautiful woman, akin to a Rosaline pearl. She has brightly pink colored straight long hair and naturally pale skin that is paler than Ndulou's. Despite being poor and giving birth to six sons and two daughters, his mother maintained his natural beauty effortlessly.

Because of a shortage of manpower within the huge noble house, his mother took care of everything inside the house, including laundry, cooking, and cleaning.

"I will miss you, my sweet child." Her mother walked towards him and caressed his short hair. "I am sorry that this mother of yours cannot support you or properly protect you. If only we were rich nobles." It disheartened Nida by the thought of her child living to stay in another's house. She felt like her child was being sold against her will, but there was nothing she could do when she could not even disagree with her husband.

Ndulou grabbed her mother's hand and looked into her disheartened eyes. "Mother, I am okay. You don't have to worry. The young master, Ernesto, is really a good kid. I won't be harmed, and it's an opportunity for me to receive the same education as the Marquis' son. You don't need to apologize, Mom. Aren't I lucky that I was born from an exquisite lady?" Ndulou comforts his mother with his gratitude and sincerity.

"My child, you are truly—." The mother and son were about to hug each other when suddenly a flashing light appeared between them.

"Kuyaaaaa!!"

Ernesto suddenly appeared in front of Ndulou and hugged him tightly as he hastily scanned the room with his eyes. The Baroness, Nida Miyano, stepped back and watched her child being hugged by a panicking child.

Ernesto's eyes shook as he increased his detection magic, but he doesn't seem to feel Fenrir.

"Did that fucking reptile lie to me?!" he cursed internally.

"Greetings, young master Ernesto Oliva?" The delicate baroness greeted Ernesto with her gentle, enchanting voice.

Ernesto looked at the baroness in perplexity. He snapped and calmed down. He loosened up his tight embrace, and Ndulou could finally breathe. He then looked back and forth towards Ndulou and the baroness.

"G-greetings, baroness Miyano, I apologize for my rude behavior. I thought Kuya was alone.'' He awkwardly fixed the messed up hair of Ndulou with his hands, which automatically received a slap from Ndulou.

Baroness Nida observed the two of them together before commenting, "I don't have to worry? Right? My child." Nida felt uncertain if she could let this rascal young master ruin her sweet and kind child.

"Yes, mother, he's just full of pranks," Ndulou awkwardly smiled at her mother.

Minutes after the Baroness said goodbye to her child, who was now re-checking his things before leaving, Ernesto stuck too close to Nudlou, and it's making him uncomfortable.

"Young master, what kind of game are we playing now?" Ndulou asked, annoyingly.

"What?" Ernesto feigns ignorance.

"Why are you so close to me, sir?" Ernesto just smiled at him and gestured for him to continue what he was doing.

Ndulou let out a long sigh and thought that maybe Ernesto needed some medical help.

"Why is this child acting so weird? Why hasn't the Marquis done anything yet? Does he know his child has the highest level of mood swings, anger issues, panic disorder, and delusions, specifically that he thought he was a regressor? haaaa~ I need to talk to the Marquis."

Ndulou finished packing his luggage while planning to help Ernesto manage his mental health.

"Yo! Are we leaving already? This place is quite amusing." An old-fashioned maid rudely barged into Ndulou's room. "Can't we stay here for much longer?" The rude maid walked straight toward Ernesto and asked him not to leave yet.

Ernesto squinted his eyes and looked at the dragon Fetahaya. "Ate Fe, did you just lie a while ago?"

Fetahaya clapped her hands twice and playfully scoffed at Ernesto, "You little kid, why aren't you scared of me, but get frightened by a mere wolf? I am much stronger than a wolf, you know."

Ernesto shook his head and said, "Ate, it's not a simple wolf. It is a primordial beast. Don't you ever prank me, ever again, please." He remained slightly respectful despite his annoyance with the dragon, who gave him a sudden fright.

"Primordial? Hey, won't you tell me your story details? I want to know if that wolf underground was something you're frightened of."

Ndulou crossed his arms and looked at the two oddballs in front of him. "Did these two forget that I was here? And isn't he going to introduce that weird maid?" he thought as Ernesto and Fetahaya talked about weird things that he could not understand.

"Huh? underground?" Ernesto gulped in, "but I am not detecting anything right now." He moved closer to Ndulou to protect him in case of a sudden attack, but Ndulou mistook this as Ernesto being frightened by the maid's words.

The dragon perked up. "That wolf is quite skilled, but I am much stronger! I can tame him if you give me time."

"Tame?" Ernesto asked doubtfully. He thought no one could tame such a beast that god could not even kill.

"Want to see it?" Fetahaya felt that the wolf he discovered underground was not the one Ernesto was cautious of. "It is okay to see him because he is chained."

Ernesto convinced himself to calm down. Knowing that there was a wolf chained underneath the Baron's mansion couldn't help him think it was Fenrir.

"No! I'll take Kuya home first and let me see it afterwards!" he nervously answered.

He needs to get Ndulou out of here first. He planned to leave Ndulou under Lucas' care, and then he would be back at the Baron's house to check.

Ernesto was looking for Fenrir, but he never really wanted to see him again. He just wanted him to disappear.
