Chapter 19 - Tribe relations

Rapt and Sorc noticed that even with the system being down some of it was still functional. One of these was being able to see each other's status sheet. The other was a shock to both of them as it allowed to peek into each other life. Whenever they thought to inquire about each other they would instantly gain the knowledge. Seeing that Sorc had been in a Tribe before Rapt asked him if he knew that this would happen.

"No, I didn't. I've never experienced this before and the only one i could think that would know the answer to this question is my father."

With that thought Rapt, felt the interested in meeting with Sorc's father to gather a more in-depth look into the Tribe part of the system. Standing there Rapt was in deep thought about the numerous different possibilities that could happen now that he was here. Sorc on the hand, was lost as he learned more about Rapt's short life. He felt sad as he learned of Rapt's first life and how he was sent to this planet in such a way.

'Your only 6 months old? What is your species? Do all of your kind have such a fast growth speed?' Sorc thought in rapid succussion as he was staring at Rapt. With each answer to his thoughts, he was actually shaken to his core. A multitude of emotion ran through his mind as he learned about Rapt's life, ranging from anger, sadness, pity, and more.

Rapt looked at Sorc with a serious face and asked, "Did you hear anything I just said?".

"Yes and no. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of fighting a cub", he replied as he had been staring off in space captivated by the information flooding his mind.

"I'm not a cub!!"

"Yes, you are Rapt. At your age, I was still under my parent's carefully watch and protection until I was at least 3 years old and close to level 2. Only then was I deemed worthy to leave our tribal home and hunt like the others. You might be the Blessed of this territory, but you're still a cub."

Hearing what Sorc was saying, Rapt didn't understand that concept because it had been stripped away from him by the harshness of life.

"Luckily for you, you were the Blessed of this territory since it's rumored that the other territories are more ruthless than this one. Well at least the ones close to this area. Their more animalistic and lawless than us. They would have killed you and taken your status the instant you arrived. Just remember to always protect yourself unless someone is your tribe member. That being said there are those here that will try to take the blessing from you."

This made Rapt think about what type of situation he was in. 'Surviving to become strong; to put your life on the line to live.' Something lord Bados had told him when he asked why he had been resurrected. "Why? How could I not give a fighting chance to a pitiful beast that had its life snuffed out before it had the chance to live?" Bados had told him, looking at Rapt nonchalantly.

At the time Rapt didn't fully understand that he was here to have the chance to fight and struggle for a second chance to live. But he was starting to understand the price of this new life would be paid for through blood, sweat, and mana.

"I need to get stronger" Rapt said.

Sorc looked at Rapt seriously before saying," Yes you do, and I will share my strength with you. Before we make any hasty moves, we need to make sure we have proper understanding of the situation."

"You're an outsider who reborn by the Gods and sent to a planet with the basics of information. That's also a cub even though you're a pretty large cub."

"My knowledge is based on all the necessities needed to survive. I know what plants are helpful and dangerous, how to find water and food, and how to fight. What else can there be?"

"You're an idiot, survive requires more than those things. You need to learn about interactions with others, how to notice a person's character and intentions, and how to get what you want without always having to fight for it. Most importantly as the Blessed and a tribal leader you need undeniable strength and the ability to properly lead."

This left Rapt dumbfounded as he heard the things that Sorc had said. Silence followed as he pondered about these new concepts. New thought processes opened up as Rapt delved into the new information being unlocked.

"hahahaahahaha" Sorc just laugh before saying," We have a lot to learn Rapt".

Slowly, Rapt noticed that he was obtaining less knowledge than usual after exploring all the different concepts. 'What's going on I usually get more information than this' Rapt thought. Unbeknownst to him the knowledge endowed to him only covered the basic of every subject and he could only gain access to it when he was introduced to the subject by an outside force.

Something that Sorc started to notice about Rapt was rather reserved and spent a lot of time spaced out. Rapt would just stand there staring off into space seemly focused on something unseen by other. It started with the brief introduction of the other knowledge need for survival.

Seeing that Rapt had regained his focus on the world, he thought 'Rapt isn't like the others born on this planet, he was just a regular animal a few months ago. Now he has this incredible weight thrust on him by the Gods and those of us in this territory'.

"Rapt there is a bond created when becoming a part of a tribe. Your tribal members will gain strength as you do, and vica versa. Plus, as a tribe gains more members and they get stronger, the leader and members will gain certain benefits. The number of members needed to unlock these benefits are unknown."

"I heard from my father that one of the tribal benefits that can unlocked is element upgrade. Once a tribal benefit is unlocked it becomes a permanent bonus immediately given to strong members capable of handling the power. Weaker members would have to earn access. It supposedly causes one's element to go through a change to an improved form through absorbing power from enemies that they kill."

This was news for Rapt as he didn't know that the elements could be upgraded and what they would become. "Has anyone been able to obtain this benefit in the territory?" Rapt asked

"Not since the former Blessed beast, Gul, but there are many that are trying, and it would be wise for us to become strong enough to defend ourselves against them. One tribe lead by a Fire Bird Petra is strongly striving to obtain this power. Once he gains this power the only hinderance to him will be the previous blessed tribal members. The previous blessed beast tribal members might protect you from outside interference, but the internal ones are a test of your own strength and power. If Petra attacks you, they won't try to save you luckily, he doesn't live on this side of the territory. But he will soon be on the move towards this area to claim your life and title."

With this information, Rapt tried to think of ways he could train without the system to monitor his improvements. He wanted to fight Sorc again to improve his fighting abilities, but from what he had been told the bond of their tribe might prevent him from reaching his limits. Rapt decided to test the boundaries of the tribal bond, first he looked at Sorc and thought of spar with him.

'let's spar' he thought towards Sorc. In an instant, Sorc distanced himself from Rapt as a Reply entered his head. Then he thought of attacking Sorc with a charge as a way of testing the link between them. He saw Sorc change his stance as if reacting to his thought along with receiving a slight impression of his thought process. 'Hmmm, now let's see what happens when I think of using [shock]', Rapt then thought of his skill and he saw another shift in Sorc. Feeling the immense excitement from the different ways he can use this, he thought of using a bolt on Sorc going as far as mimicking the flow of mana that the skill caused. Sorc reacted again focusing on defending, leading to what Rapt wanted him to do. Rapt tapped into instincts as he charged at top speed, tricking Sorc with the tribal skill [minor telepathy] and [mana sense] skill.

'So, we can spar like this to learn each other's fighting styles', Rapt thought towards Sorc. Noticing pretty late that he had been tricked, Sorc felt the same intrigue that drew him to Rapt during their first fight again.
