Chapter 9 - My morning was cool...

The alarm went off again somewhere in the house. Henry and I startled apart and looked at each for a minute before getting up. We both went our separate ways to get changed and then met each other in the kitchen again 15 minutes after parting ways. We ate breakfast in silence, except for all of his younger siblings. They all kept talking to me and Henry, not at all aware of the tension between the two of us. We finished eating and started the five minute walk to school, arriving around 7:30. We sit back down in the spot that I was yesterday, to wait out the last 30 minutes.

We don't talk, just sitting there on our phones. I enter Instagram and start to make a post about how I'm doing, taking a quick picture of my school. Henry then randomly grabs my phone and deletes my post.

"Hey, what was that for?" I hiss at him.

"You can't post things like that. The kids that look at the post are going to look up the town or high school and not be able to find it. They are going to get confused and not know whats happening or if you are alright." I stare at him in a shocked expression, him voicing things I had never even thought of.

"Hey Henry, give me my phone back!"

"Nope, not going to happen. I need to put my phone number into here."

I stare at him with a confused expression and say, "Why the hell do you need to do that?"

"So that if you need me, then you can call or text me." He looks at me like I'm stupid for asking that question. "Why else would I give you my phone number?" He looks at me, obviously expecting an answer.

"Umm," I mumble, embarrassed. "No other reasons really. Just thought, you know, you wanted to be friends with me?" He looks so taken aback by my answer. I start blushing profusely because of his eyes on my face.

"Of course I want to be friends with you!" He basically yells.

"Do you want to be more than friends? Is that why you snuggled up to me last night?" I am surprised by my own forwardness and his face shows he is too.

"I-I-I... I don't know why I did that." He stumbles through his sentence.

"Well, I did enjoy that. And I just realized, now, talking to you, that I like you, Henry."

"Then who is Bennett to you?" His words faltered.

"What does Bennett have to do with this? With us?" I questioned.

"Just, what is he to you, Lucille?"

"He was my second friend, after you of course. And he stopped everyone from messing with me and everything. But he also stopped me from seeing you yesterday. And that made me upset. So, he means nothing to me. Why?"

"No reason. I like you too. More than you like me probably." I smile at that last comment and look at him. "Okay, Lucille Aestra, would you like to go out with me?"

I smile at him because no one ever uses my last name for some reason and respond, "Of course I will Henry Celeborn."
