An explosion of colors, a flash of light,
The twinkling of stars along with a firefly's flight,
Hues in the sky that's brighter than the night,
A rush of emotions that brought me to new heights.
A warm smokey fog, obscuring the night,
Forced happy tears fogging my sight,
Like a venom caused by a snake's bite,
My heart stopped at the thought of your sight.
Entangled fingers but not with mine,
Saline tears dropped as I sipped the last drops of wine,
You saw the colors not with me but in her eyes,
I screamed inside, my head filled with lies.
Sadness after happiness that's what the fireworks are,
Like us, my dear. An endless roller coaster ride.
