Not far from a funeral behind is Astrid weeping and wiping her tears. The inclement gloomy weather parallels the infectious depression, permeating throughout the entire cemetery. That is, until Adrianna arrives and stands six feet away beside Astrid.
Adrianna glances at Astrid, who's still wiping her tears. "Crocodile tears", Adrianna scoffs and Astrid smiles.
"There's something beautiful about death. For all your lifespan, you pile up so many reasons to keep breathing, until fate itself takes that all away and then you die.", Astrid says, looking at the funeral ahead.
"I found a way.", Adrianna changes the topic and informs her.
Astrid went blank and started breathing frantically. "I thought you already knew that.", Adrianna says.
"Yeah, but I wasn't counting on it. How did we not know this sooner!", Astrid exclaims as Adrianna realizes Astrid couldn't be the person who resurrected Aster.
"For the record, the things you need to bring back an immortal will cost you somebody else's life.", Adrianna attempts to ease Astrid's mood.
"What do you need?", Astrid instantly asks.
"Sacrificial first-born of an immortal bloodline...and the void dagger, Astrid. You do still have it? 'Cause until you do, no one can resurrect no one.", Adrianna explains.
And thus, another problem had risen: Astrid doesn't have the said dagger for she had given it to the Mikaelsords, which then leads to Astrid thinking if the Mikaelsords resurrected her sister because they know Aster is the only one who have all the reasons and ability to kill Astrid.
"I'm going to fix this. I ought to.", Astrid mutters.
Just as Astrid turns around and leaves, Adrianna begs her "Kai may or may not have been involved in Aster's resurrection. He knows about the dagger. But please don't kill him.".
"I won't.", Astrid gives her word to Adrianna.
Astrid gets inside a Porsche 911 Targa 4S with Kristiaan on the driverseat. "To the Mikaelsord Manor?", Kristiaan confirms.
"You got the lil' present?", Astrid asks an ambiguous question.
"Yup", Kristiaan answers as they drove off.

Within the flickering lights of the hospital room is Fleur forced to contend with another subliminal reverie that unravels the chain of events of 'The Last Duel'.
A sun-drenched afternoon filled with treacherous lies and deceptions, when the kingdom of Frigard begins to cave in. Fleur opens her eyes wide open as she lives vicariously through Aster, who's coming back from a triumphant war. All were once living exuberant, drinking the sweetest wine from their bottles to honor all of their sour battles.
With Astrid's heavy footsteps and growing outrage, she draws the Frigard sword, aiming at Aster, as she evades the blade with her shield. Her head turns to Astrid when she exclaims "You lied to me!". Aster kept denying Astrid's allegations while Astrid kept throwing cruel words at her.
In the wake of all the piercing sound of pain, Fleur finally makes her escape by waking up into reality as she mumbles the name "Aster Jaylee Vanworth-Frigard".
Fleur tries to catch a breath as she glances over Niko, who is just arriving inside the room. "Hey, you missed Rhayls. She had to go immediately for some tip or whatever.", Niko explains.
Fleur, without a forethought, gets out of the death bed as Niko attempts to stop her from doing so. "Wait wait wait. You've just woken up.", he says.
"It's just a concussion.", Fleur understates. She turns back to Niko and asks him earnestly "Don't you have a shift today?".
Niko scratches his head and replies "Uhm, I got fired.", while keeping a smile on his face.
"Oh, I'm sorry.", Fleur gives her sympathy.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Go!", Niko lets her go, as Fleur pays the hospital bill on her way out.
Fleur gets inside a cab as she fiddles with her watch, hoping time would stop for her to catch her departing colleagues: Rhaylee and Barb, on their way to the Mikaelsord Manor. The car is parked outside the FBI Headquarters as it is already revving and waiting for them.
Before Rhaylee gets inside the car, a tight grip in her arms pulls her and prevents her from doing so. "What tip?!", Fleur exclaims.
"What are you doing here?", Rhaylee exclaims as well.
"What tip?", Fleur snickers hesitantly.
"They found where the Mikaelsords reside. It's from a former employee Manuel Gerithon. And now, we're on our way to ask them questions, including ones about Astrid Frigard.", Rhaylee explains.
"What if this is a trap? What if the Mikaelsords are just paying that employee to sabotage us, if not get us all killed?", Fleur demurs.
"Barb is coming with us, ready to pull the trigger at any time.", Rhaylee insists while Barb arrives.
"I thought you were in hospital arrest.", Barb says, glaring suspiciously at Fleur.
And without any consideration, "I'm coming with you. This is my investigation as well.", Fleur says as they all get inside the Black SUV.
———————————————————
The car rims spin so quickly, eager to set foot at the Mikaelsord Manor. Astrid, who's wearing a black embroidered leather jacket, arrives at the door as Kristiaan takes off his own trench coat. Maeve approaches them avidly and welcomes Astrid "Astrid! I've missed you!".
Astrid extends her arms to give Maeve the lil' present, wrapped in brown paper with golden stars. "Here's your birthday gift. And Happy Birthday.", Astrid greets her as they go inside, where the Mikaelsords are standing still, anticipating Astrid's presence.
Ezra rolls his eyes as soon as he sees Astrid's gift while Maeve sincerely whispers "Belated Happy Birthday to Aster too. I wish I had the chance to meet her.", which surprisingly Astrid took with tranquility.
Astrid glares upon the Mikaelsords while she mutters "Oh, you will meet her, someday. Any day now.". Keane looks down six feet under as they all realize that Astrid is cognizant about Fleur Christensen's existence.
Ezra asks for Astrid, along with his siblings, to be in another room for a moment to talk alone. The walls are covered in acoustic foams to suppress any unwarranted disclosure. "Did you know that someone resurrected my sister?", Astrid blatantly asks.
However, the Mikaelsords locked their eyes on the ground. Astrid grovels around the room and adds "A better question is how the hell did you know that before me. And that leads me into thinking that the very person that I'm talking to right now may be the ones who resurrected Aster.".
"How the hell would we even do that?", Keane furrows his eyebrows in disapproval.
"And even if we can, no offense, but don't you think we would resurrect first our parents?", Xavier interferes.
"Astrid, why would we even do that?", another reasoning is made by Roux.
"Oh I don't know. Maybe you have every desire to kill me.", Astrid argues.
Ezra scoffs and replies "You don't deserve an easy death. What you deserve is a slow poison.".
Astrid, holding her smug face, slowly paces towards Ezra's face, until Astrid slapped him hard across the face. "That's for slapping me earlier.", Astrid says, recalling when Ezra once slapped her.
A single knock on the door ceases all discrepancies as the FBI, along with Fleur, finally arrives at the threshold of the Manor. Both Astrid and Keane race towards the door, yearning to face Fleur first. As soon as the door opens, Astrid and Keane are faced with Fleur and Rhaylee.
"Fleur", Astrid and Keane utter in unison.
"Keane", said Fleur.
"Jasleen?", Rhaylee glares at Astrid.
"You", Fleur looks at Astrid and remembers their chat of amenity.
"We need to ask the Mikaelsords some questions.", Barb interferes.
Ezra approaches them by the door and impedes "We're not answering any of your questions without our attorney.".
Fleur glances at Keane, who cannot look more guilty than the others. "Keane, will you be willing to answer the questions?", Fleur asks, as Ezra interrupts her.
"Mr. Mikaelsord. You can address him as Mr. Mikaelsord. And no, he will not be answering questions as well.", Ezra exclaims.
Fleur makes a blatant remark towards Astrid as she asks "Will you answer the questions? Or are you also that scared?".
Astrid smirks in awe of Fleur's transparency and replies "Sure".
"Shall we?", Astrid invites them inside the Manor.
Filled with nothing but confusion and doubts, Rhaylee kept staring at Astrid, or she may be known as 'Jasleen Vanworth'. They walked towards the room, the same one, as Astrid mutters "I'm not going to jail am I?".
"Why? You scared?", Barb scoffs.
"No. But someone else is.", Astrid glares upon the Mikaelsords while the doors are being shut, locking them away from each other.
Within the shackled walls grows the tension between the Frigard sisters. "I'm Barb Holland. These are Agents Fleur Christensen and Rhaylee Bloom.", Barb introduces his team and points at Fleur and Rhaylee.
"My name's Astrid Jasleen Vanworth-Frigard.", Astrid glances at Rhaylee.
"Do you live here with the Mikaelsords?", Fleur promptly asks.
"No. This is a graveyard. No, I don't live here.", Astrid replies with a straight face.
"What's your relationship with the Mikaelsords?", Rhaylee asks.
"No relationship. I'm not good at commitments.", Astrid states as she remains focused at Rhaylee.
"How long have you known the Mikaelsords?", Fleur insists on asking.
"We've known each other since we were kids.", Astrid answers with compliance.
"So, you've known each other long enough that you would bury each other's secrets?", Fleur speculates as Astrid scoffs.
"Where were you on the 7th of August, that's last Sunday?", Barb interferes.
Astrid furrows her eyebrows and pretends to brood over her whereabouts. "I'm not particular on those matters.", she replies.
"But usually I go to the Berman's on weekends. I'm pretty sure I made a reservation. You can check if you want.", Astrid adds, coming up with a strong alibi.
Barb looks at Fleur with frustration and scratches his eyebrows.
Meanwhile, exactly three pairs of eyes are perching over the window to eavesdrop and peek at the ongoing interrogation inside the Manor. "Something really weird is about that girl.", Rosaria points out.
"Well, yeah. But that's still Aster.", Roux replies.
"No, not Fleur. Her colleague. She seems not human.", Rosaria vaguely explains.
Xavier turns his back and departs.
"Where are you going?", Rosaria asks.
"I need to find Fenelle. I may have told her to come.", Xavier says.
"What? You told her where we live?", Rosaria exclaims.
"She's not Manuel.", Xavier insists and walks through the grass ground of the Mikaelsord Manor.
He walked at least a mile before reaching the tall, narrow wrought-iron gateway. But after stepping off the grounds of Mikaelsords, Xavier hears a susurrus beneath the tall plants.
"PSSST!", Fenelle whispers, hiding behind some perennial plants.
Xavier takes a few steps back and pauses. He glances at his left, searching for any sight of the lurking shadow. Fenelle comes into view as Xavier exclaims "Wait. You can't be here. Astrid is here.".
For a while, Fenelle looked delinquent and ashamed for she won't spend a second to look at Xavier's eyes. "No, I know. That's my fault. Look, I don't expect you to forgive me but I gave your address to Manuel. Manuel made the anonymous tip to the FBI and that's why they're in your house.", Fenelle explains.
After all the information disclosed to him, Xavier couldn't help himself but to feel guilt as well. He is lost in thoughts and could not bring himself to utter a word.
"I know you're probably disappointed with me. Please, listen to me. He needs a dagger for something big of a plan that he would never dare to tell anyone, including me. I'm sorry.", Fenelle forebodes.
"I can't...", Xavier mumbles.
"You have to warn the others.", Fenelle directs him as she runs away from Xavier.
"Please be safe.", Xavier whispers beneath his voice.
———————————————————
The interrogation ended in vain as the FBI found Astrid's alibi to be nothing but truthful. On their way to the Black SUV, Astrid asks Fleur a question. "Tell me, did you wake up in an amnesia when you were 16 or 17-ish?", Astrid asks, out of nowhere.
Fleur nods as Astrid proves once more that Fleur is, in fact, Aster Frigard. The time and age for when Aster died matches Fleur's age when she seemingly woke up in an amnesia.
"Good to know.", Astrid says and shoves them onto their vehicle.
After waving goodbyes to their unwanted visitors, Astrid finally faces the Mikaelsords. "I almost forgot. I need the void dagger. And I need it NOW.", Astrid demands.
"What dagger?", Keane asks.
"Oh, you know. The dagger that Ezra killed his wife with.", Astrid states, making Ezra burn with fury.
"We don't have it.", Ezra answers.
"I think you missed that part that I don't know if you have it or not. I need it in 36 hours.", Astrid says.
"Or what?", Ezra ventures.
"Or else hell knows what I am capable of.", Astrid replies, leaving a predicament on their footsteps.
The sound of Astrid's footsteps goes farther and farther away as the Mikaelsords are left on the edge of the dark abyss. "What now?", Keane asks.
"Look, we have a chance to redeem ourselves to Astrid. So, let's look for that goddamn dagger...or else she's going to kill us.", Rosaria urges.
"This is bad. This is really bad.", Roux cries out, pacing back and forth.
"It's all my fault.", Xavier enters the room. "I told Fenelle our address. Manuel tipped off the FBI and that's how they got here.", he confesses.
"Aster is not our problem for now. We have a much sharper knife in our throats.", Ezra states.
"Astrid is longing for some kind of a dagger.", Keane explains.
"The Void Dagger. It has been known as one of the perennial weapons that could kill any immortal.", Rosaria elaborates.
"So, Astrid wants to kill an immortal? Her sister, perhaps?", Roux demurs.
"Wait, did you say a dagger?", Xavier interrupts. "Fenelle told me Manuel is looking for a dagger or he has it, I'm not sure.", Xavier mutters.
"Astrid and Manuel are teaming up.", Ezra raises an objection. As of now, all that they are duly capable of is raising conjectures.

Arriving back at the FBI Headquarters, Fleur, Rhaylee, and Barb are feeling an unbridled weary after their long journey to the Mikaelsord Manor.
"Kai never said this was gonna be easy. And if Astrid and the Mikaelsords have been doing this for years, I'm quite sure they'll do every little thing to shut down our investigation.", Fleur says.
"We're gonna have to contact your friend again. Lukai Parkerson.", Barb answers and instructs Fleur to email Kai as well as to make ends meet.
Barb leaves Fleur and Rhaylee and locks himself in his office again. Rhaylee, who's still appalled by the bolt from the blue, kept her silence in check. Fleur glances at Rhaylee and holds her hand.
"I'm so sorry.", Fleur says as she looks at Rhaylee's ring.
"Stop saying sorry for the things you cannot control.", Rhaylee quotes her, making each other smile.
"Is it just us or is the world getting smaller and smaller?", Fleur makes a factual realization. They held hands forever as they arch over crossroads together.

The high-pitched noise of the red door disrupts Robin's perusal as Astrid, accompanied by Kristiaan, strides over Robin's condominium. Kristiaan's movements seem demanding while he packs Robin's belongings.
"Take him farthest from me and away from all of this holocaust. Promise me Kristiaan, stay away from trouble.", Astrid mutters.
"Is it lunchtime yet?", Robin exerts himself into Astrid and Kristiaan's conversation.
"When will I hear from you?", Kristiaan grips Astrid's arms.
"After the hours of darkness", Astrid vaguely answers.
Astrid hastingly leaves the condominium as Robin tries to catch her strenuous footsteps. Right in front of the door, Robin exclaims "Astrid, find something good to believe in. Not a person, but something within you. I'm sure that ain't possible to find.".
"Okay, boomer.", Astrid banters and eventually leaves him with the one she truly trusts.

The sun is longing to fall down when Astrid ventures to solely tread amongst Fleur's place of abode. She stands before the door of Fleur's apartment and knocks. Niko, who resides right next door, approaches Astrid.
"Hello, can I help you?", Niko politely asks.
"Ah, yes. I'm Astrid Frigard. I have travelled from England to visit my sister, Aster. You may know her as Fleur Christensen.", Astrid blatantly says in an english accent.
"Oh my goodness!", Niko gasped with utter shock.
"I have been longing to meet her. And now I finally found her. You would not believe how arduous it is to find my dear sister.", Astrid pursues her English accent.
Because of Niko's credulous mind, he instantly grabs the keys for Fleur's apartment and says "Well, come in. I have her keys.".
Astrid enters with caution as she asks "Are you sure it'll be alright if I enter?".
"No, yeah. Of course, She would be delighted to see you. However, she usually comes back from work at 5pm. So, you have to wait at least for two hours. If it's okay, you can leave a message. Where are you staying? I can give her your address.", Niko explains while they are standing in front of one another.
"No, it's okay. I'll come back then.", Astrid refuses to do so and turns back, facing the door.
"I texted her your name, by the way.", Niko adds, making Astrid freeze.
"You what?", Astrid breaks her english accent, still facing the door.
"Yeah, uhm. Oh, she replies back.", Niko's phone buzzed.
Astrid turns around and faces Niko. "Read it for me, will you?", Astrid enunciates with her real accent.
"She said 'That's not my sister. Run away NOW'", Niko reads slowly.
Right after Niko had read the unswerving message, Astrid smacks him and persistently strangles him.
"Wait, wait. Please, I'm begging you. I had a really tough day. I got fired and I'm alone. Please, let me go.", Niko cries out as he struggles for air.
Niko is aware that there is no way he is leaving without being unscathed, yet he relentlessly tries to hit Astrid countless times. Niko bolts through the door in dismay. Astrid pulls Niko's leg, thumps his back and makes him drop through the floor.
Then suddenly, Astrid lets go of him, letting him catch his breath, while Niko mumbles "Thank you for sparing my life. I've suffered enough already.".
Astrid scoffs with no mercy and says "Well, then. The least I can do is to give you a peaceful death.".
"Wait what?", Niko hopelessly holds on for his life.
Astrid breaks Niko's neck as the mere sound he could only hear is the buzzing of his phone with Fleur's overdued perturbance.
"Let the bloodshed commence.", Astrid says under her deepest breath.
———————————————————
While slowly realizing Niko's predicament, Fleur quickly runs towards Niko's quiet body. Upon opening the door, she catches a glimpse of Niko, who remains allayed on the ground. Fleur finally falls down in sorrow, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry.", she cries out.
Her voice breaks apart, along with every sense of her body. "What did I do?!", she says repeatedly to herself. Fleur dials for the FBI with her shivering hands, while she reports the crime "We have a 55-K on Imperial Street".
Fleur glanced at a purple envelope, lying beside Niko's body, that was left by Astrid. She opens the envelope and reads '4507 Morthonhall Park Drive'. "Oh, you have got to be kidding me.", Fleur whispers as she puts the envelope inside her pocket.
The FBI arrived at the apartment as they covered Niko's body to be taken to the Medical Examiner's office. Meanwhile, outside the apartment, "Barb didn't even bother to come here.", Rhaylee points out as she approaches Fleur.
Fleur pulls out the envelope she found and gives the note to Rhaylee. "What is this?", Rhaylee asks while she reads the address.
"I'm guessing it's from Astrid.", Fleur says. "Before Niko, you know, died, he sent me a text, saying that my sister came here from England. Her name's Astrid.", Fleur explains.
Rhaylee's eyes filled with nothing but contempt for Astrid. "You're not thinking of actually walking over there, are you? This could be another trap!", Rhaylee exclaims.
"I need to know.", Fleur whispered as Rhaylee scoffed. "By the way, did Kai answer already?", Fleur asks.
"Not yet. I emailed him half an hour ago.", Rhaylee answers. "If you're really going there, I'm coming with you. This is my investigation as well.", Rhaylee, once more, quotes Fleur and insists on coming.
They get inside Rhaylee's blu Honda Civic, on their dire path to Astrid's apartment. The dead of the night further escalates the growing trepidation through their bones. They parked two meters behind the establishment as Fleur asks Rhaylee to stay "I need you to stay here for lookout.", which Rhaylee immediately took as an absurd scheme.
"Oh hell no! Don't you think you can get rid of me that easily.", Rhaylee exclaims.
"I'm not letting the two of us get slaughtered. If I'm not back after 30 minutes, I'm gonna need backup.", Fleur stands firm and leaves the car without Rhaylee.
Fleur enters the abandoned building as she looks over her head, seeing the exaggerated amount of stairs she's about to clamber. Every stair corresponds to her gasp of weariness. Once she reaches the pinnacle, she glares ahead at Astrid's apartment number '14'.
Fleur sets foot on the said apartment as she ultimately glances at Astrid, sitting and eating on a table, near the door.
"No need to take caution. Would you like some carbonara? What's your favorite pasta, by the way? I'll get you a plate.", Astrid gets up and walks to the kitchen.
"Don't just stand there. Sit, I insist.", Astrid demands.
Fleur conforms to Astrid's demanding request and sits down in front of Astrid. "You killed the Finch couple and Niko.", Fleur states, while Astrid still is preparing Fleur's plate.
"Yes, I did. Is that his name?", Astrid plainly says.
"You really have no human left in you.", Fleur mutters.
"Did you ever consider that I'm not human at all? I guess you don't know that yet. But you and I are the same.", Astrid approaches Fleur.
"I am nothing but. What do you want from us?", Fleur directly asks.
"I only want nothing but you...and your power.", Astrid whispers through Fleur's ears.
"My power? I stare at dead people almost every day and you want my power?", Fleur scoffs.
"No, not that. Your mind.", Astrid clarifies.
"What are you saying?", Fleur is still over the clouds.
Astrid deliberately drops the plate on the floor and exclaims "Oh, for God's sake!".
"I know you hear whispers in your head, nightmares that keep you up all night, suboptimal visions. I want you to control your power, feel it in your hands and mind. I need you to be cognizant of how powerful you are.", Astrid explains.
"So what? You can use that power for yourself and use it against me?", Fleur says as Astrid scoffs.
"I do not need anyone or anything to prove that I am powerful on my own.", Astrid says as Fleur scoffs.
"I know who you are. I know you think you're saving yourself from all those killings, but you're just prolonging your fate. All it is, is a tragic death and quietus.", Fleur attempts to begin a provocation. Astrid starts to feel small and irritated. "Did you think I don't know anything?", Fleur says and starts to feel Astrid's tension.
But, Astrid merely scoffs and continues to eat her carbonara. Fleur could not see Astrid snap, only an inch of irritation in her eyes. Fleur expected Astrid to be hard to decipher yet it seems she feels harmless in a room with Astrid.
"How was your foster home?", Astrid implying to Fleur's sinister history of wretched families.
"Did they like you? Maybe a little too much? Did they give you a big house? I bet it wasn't big enough for their egos, wasn't it?", Astrid continues to pierce madness on Fleur.
"Admit it, Aster. You need me.", Astrid whispers.
"Why can't you just let me live?", Fleur cries out.
"Because without me, the only way your life is going to end is with your head imploding from the turbulence you feel on your head right now...Or maybe if luck is with you, you're the one who gets to end my life. But none of that is going to happen in the near future if you would just listen to me.", Astrid explains.
"And why would I listen to a mass murderer?", Fleur provokes Astrid.
"Hmm.", Astrid sighs.
Astrid walks behind Fleur, whose mind is still in a vicious cycle around the room. Astrid made a paroxysm on both Fleur's heart and mind.
"I know the first feeling. That the voices were so loud yet no one dares to listen to them. You want them to shut up but they just. Won't. Let. You. Go.", Astrid whispers to Fleur as her fingers reach Fleur's temple.
Astrid opens Fleur's mind into thousands of minds, even miles away from her. Everything shatters open, the voices grow even louder. Fleur's life is suddenly fragile, everything is a glass ready to fall apart.
Fleur falls down on her knees, with Astrid standing firmly in front of her. Fleur quickly reaches for the knife on her plate and throws it, as it grazes onto Astrid's right arm. Astrid looks down in pain and agitation while her eyes subsequently turn purple in a split second.
"What are you?", Fleur points out Astrid's eyes.
Rhaylee busts out the door and comes for Fleur's help. Astrid, with all possible haste, exits through the window pane and has gone throughout the night.
"You're ears are bleeding!", Rhaylee exclaims as she touches Fleur's ears, who's enduring pain from the vociferous noise she's still hearing.
"I need to talk to Kai.", Fleur says, out of breath.
"Yeah, about that. We have his address. He said to meet at his house.", Rhaylee informs Fleur.
Fleur pulls a recorder that has been in her pocket the entire conversation with Astrid. She hands it to Rhaylee and carefully instructs her "Give this to Barb and inform him everything that happened. Now, tell me. Where does Kai live?".
Rhaylee quickly looks through her phone and shows the email to Fleur. 'Simon Street, last one on the road. Do not come without Fleur', Fleur reads.
"Looks like he really wants to speak to you only.", Rhaylee points out.
"Keep safe.", Fleur says as they go on their own paths.
———————————————————
After that very moment, Fleur gets a cab and travels down the damped road as fast as she demands the driver to do so. While she is still finding her consciousness, she tries every little thing in her own will to disregard her lethargic state of mind.
As soon as she arrives and knocks on the door, Kai is seen through the window with his sister, sitting on a couch. Kai slowly opens the door, letting Fleur come inside.
Fleur, at first hand, glanced at Adrianna and asked Kai "You have a sister?". But Kai won't make eye contact.
"Here's what's gonna happen. You're going to tell me everything you know about Astrid Frigard or I might have to put you in jail instead.", Fleur exclaims, while Kai keeps his eyes on the ground.
Adrianna approaches Fleur and notices her bleeding ears "You're hearing the whispers, aren't you? Loud ones?".
"How do you know that?", Fleur glares at Adrianna. "What the hell is going on?!", Fleur bursts out.
Kai grabs Adrianna's arm and pulls her away from Fleur. "What are you doing?!", Kai exclaims.
"You have to bring back her memories.", Adrianna suggests.
"But we don't even know if she truly is Aster.", Kai argues.
"Does the fact that she's been hearing whispers help you realize that some part of Fleur is Aster? Whatever the consequences are, we need to help her.", Adrianna replies.
Kai slowly walks up to Fleur and tells her "Just a disclaimer: I haven't done this before. It's usually the future that I make people see, not the past. So, bear with me.".
"Wait, you can see the future?", Fleur interrupts him.
But Kai decides to neglect her question and puts his fingertips to Fleur's head. His eyes turn yellow in a split second as Kai begins to bring back Aster's memories and Fleur's past.
Everything goes back from where they came from, everything becomes clearer and more apparent. It is now clear to Fleur that she and Astrid were once sisters. They were families of immortals until the sudden death of her mother, Denayah Vanworth. Aster blamed herself for not being able to stay with their mother and perhaps change her fate.
She then recalls every single detail about 'The Last Duel', how Astrid pierces the Frigard sword onto Aster's heart, brimming with darkness. She remembers not being able to control the darkness within her and ultimately dying from it.
Out of spite, Astrid kills her father. And as a consequence, the majority of immortals were wiped out: kings, warriors, and right-hands. Everyone who was part of Magni Nominis Umbra disappeared from the face of the earth. Kai explained that Astrid is full of regret as she carries that burden until now.
Teardrops fall down on Fleur's face as she reminisces about everything. Fleur froze off and could not move from how Kai recalls her past life. All of her drudgery only to lead back from where she started.
