Synopsis
"Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. - Hebrews 13:2" Angels are often claimed to be the guardians and protectors of mankind. They're portrayed to be breathtakingly beautiful. From heart and even appearance. In Crimson Crown, angels were not adored. Instead, they were the most abhorred species of all the beasts that walked on that cursed land. Ruled and reigned by the creatures of darkness, the Demogorgons, for centuries, the kingdom turned into nothing but a deadly doom for anything that brought light. Darkness is their ray of sunshine. Demons are their worshipped God. And angels are considered to be creatures of evil and will be sentenced for sacrifice if found. Until one arrived. One of the remaining kind. One discrete from that forfeited kind. A despairingly foredoomed angel. A damned fallen angel.

Chapter 1 - | P R O L O G U E |

RAVEN'S POV :

"Can't you see what I am? I AM CURSED, CHARMAINE MONTGOMERY!!"

I yelled at her in extreme acrimony. Whereas, deep down in my heart, there was nothing left, except agony.

I'm broken.

Severely, from inside out.

I'm shredded.

Awfully, into a million little pieces.

Thwarting to be released of this never-ending despairs I've been bestowed upon. I am the kind of devil, that despises its own dark existence.

Whereas... She...

She is directly opposite to my serpentine self.

Her sacred soul is filled with nothing but affection and aurora.

She was not intimidated by me.

Instead, she controlled me with a single blink of her stunning eyes.

She is the angel that every devil would die for but now, she's ready to die for me.

The devil himself.

"Look at me..."

Her gentle palms caressed my marred face. Dipping my head back, she forced me to meet her gaze. Which I did without hesitation. As though indicating the misery in my eyes, hers immediately softened with care. At that very moment, she painted a thousand rays of sunshine all over her face. The throbbing in my heart eased when her eyes, her lips, and her spirit, all at once smiled at me.

"What about me then? I'm no angel in this talk, Raven."

The sound of her voice was sufficient to soothe any scarred soul but the care and courage in her eyes switched colour almost immediately. Into pain and blunder. Her eyes were accumulating with tears of dolour but surprisingly, the serene smile survived on her lips.

"I'M DAMNED TOO!"
