Regius had never used the crown, with it being linked to all nine of the core worlds, so even he was unaware of the effects that it would have on his body. His body was continuously using mana and replenishing it at the same time while he was unaware that while the wounds on the outside of his body healed rather easily thanks to the quantity of mana his soul had to withstand the strain of all of that mana. Eve had control of her soul that Regius knew nothing of which allowed her to withstand it but Regius on the other hand was different.
